Hi, the recent edit you made to Video game controversy has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Hi, I notice you have been welcoming a whole lot of new users (and welcome yourself BTW!). May I ask how you are doing this (are you copy/pasting? how do you pick which IP to welcome? Prodego talk 02:30, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see. I wanted to make sure that you weren't running an automated program to do this (these are allowed, but they need approval). Since you aren't, all the better. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help. Prodego talk 02:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just a tip about welcomes, you can also use the subst: function. For example for {{welcomeunclesam}} you can type{{subst:welcomeunclesam|Wtfdontkill}} ~~~~ it will produce the same text and wikicode Alexfusco5 02:47, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem here is another one, you do not need to type your username when you sign like this ~~~~. Hope it helps Alexfusco5 02:50, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reminder!

Sorry that I didn't log in and got the "IP-nickname" 193.170.250.70. I do not know whether it was lazyness or whether I forgot to login. One problem I do have with this logins is that you need a separate account for each language that uses the same letters. What I mean is that I understand that one has different accounts, if they write English, Mandarin, and Arabic, as the letters/symbols differ. But why should I re-login when I switch from English to German to Swedish to Turkish?? I simply do not know, as one can use the common subset of characters to create the nickname (i.e., using the English characters only) and could be kept logged in while switching from one language to another. :-(( SAE1962 (talk) 07:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a javascript you might like if you use Firefox WP:FRIENDLY. If you use Firefox, you should go there and follow the instructions to welcome more new users. Thanks! Marlith T/C 01:05, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion

[edit]

Hi. Please do not mark pages for speedy deletion under criteria g1 unless the page is "unsalvageably incoherent page with no meaningful content", as you incorrectly did to Grimstarr. Thanks, Rjd0060 (talk) 00:28, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this user is marking pages incorrectly for speedy deletion, I was lucky I was able to save my page in time! AntiVanMan (talk) 01:48, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This user should stop deleting pages that can be salvaged, or have nothing wrong with them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anne boleyn lover (talkcontribs) 01:55, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wtfdontkill. I have just been reviewing your recent nominations for speedy deletion. Of the three I looked at, none are candidates for speedy deletion. Angelo Pellegrini is the author of multiple books and the article is sourced (if poorly); Youngy Johnson is a major league baseball player; Johnny Martorano is a mass murder and the article is sourced. You should only tag an article for speedy deletion if it is clearly unsuitable for Wikipedia. None of these articles fall into that category. While I appreciate your work in helping us keep inappropriate articles out of Wikipedia, please read WP:CSD more carefully and be much stricter in your tagging of articles. You are biting newcomers and damaging Wikipedia as a result, even if that is not your intention. Thanks, Gwernol 02:10, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Forgive me for this, but I would suggest uninstalling Twinkle and reinstalling it when you have gained some more experience and familiarity with policies. Thanks. Marlith T/C 02:12, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I removed the deletion tag from Phaiax because it isn't nonsense, just not very well written.  :) Corvus cornixtalk 01:35, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jakob Dylan

[edit]

Hi, I wonder if you could please help me. There is someone who keeps taking the names of Jakob Dylan's sons from the article. I have sourced the informaton to Howard Sounes' Dylan biog, Sounes was told the names of the then two sons, by Dylan's lawyer. Can you please advise me what to do if it is taken out again please?
