Hello Woodidoo. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Howard Panes, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Woodidoo. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Woodidoo|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. scope_creepTalk 15:20, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scope creep, I'm responding to indicate that I am not being compensated for editing. I apologize if it appears that way, and I am very willing to learn and fix my way of editing so I can better contribute to the community. Any guidance you can provide is extremely appreciated. Thanks! Woodidoo (talk) 07:35, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. You've made a declaration that your not being paid for work. Excellent.scope_creepTalk 10:19, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.

Hi @Woodidoo: Please do not revert that above redirect back to the article. There was a clear consensus less than 6 weeks ago at the Afd that the person was non-notable. If you want to recreate the article, please recreate as a Draft article and get it reviewed as a Draft article. Go to WP:DRAFT and start from there. Once it is finished, submit it and somebody will review it. If you need help, give me a shout, or go to the WP:TEAHOUSE. scope_creepTalk 14:48, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Scope creep. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Harry Heth have been undone because they appeared to be promotional.
