Bye Bye
Now 6:37 Am and my depentuer time is 8 am so I must go to airport at 7am. bye bye see u you can relax one or two weeks --Ekyaw (talk) 00:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Gone to Mandalay apparently. Why don't you just go ahead and start the SE Asian cinema project? I've also created Category:Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award nominees and sorted out some of the articles today. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:59, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes that true. I must amdit I'm a little tied at the moment. Do ypu think Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film is up to a featured list status? -its currently up for a feature ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes thats what I thought. Although admittedly I lost faith in the FA after despite it receiving 25 supports for FA they made mince meat of Preity Zinta demoting her back to a B class. My feeling is that some people tend to exaggerate any minor flaws in the articles and have this vision an FA should be perfect rather than an excellent article. I haven't had the chance to review it fully yet but it looks in very good shape to me. What was shocking is some of the notable nominated films in there which should have full detailed articles now but are barely stubs. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:10, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey (your words about the ass kissing - (so unbelievably true!!) you've hit the nail bang on there amigo!!! LOL! Yes I have also learned to go no further than a GA myself now although i would be glad to make a few minor edits to help promote something. FA's are a nightmare and take away any fun or beneficial editing where the project could be expanding elsewhere to focus on trivialities. Yes it does make me laugh the articles such as Soil and hamburger !! Toilets in Japan was a good one - I guess that'll come in handy as a guide to implementing a new potty in my Japanese volcano! Seriously though the potential of this project is endless and quite rightly world film should attempt to be covered as with other topics. Saludos amigo. Adios. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:22, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Righty oh then!! I may be editing some Filipino films this weekend and I'll try to tag a few when I can. Regards Baldy ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:26, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi Wise. I'm not going to be editing much over the next few days as I think I'm coming down with the flu but it might be a good idea to try to contact some of the creators of many of the Filipino and Malaysian film articles such as User:The 80s chick, User:Anyo Niminus, User:Bluemask User:Huaiwei, User:Bishonen and User:Haemo etc and announce the new project. It would be good to tie together editors from the different SE Asian industries -a sort of ASEAN alliance for cinema! I'm certain we'll have a few more members in no time. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Did you think about giving it some publicity afterwards? Or do you think its best to keep quiet and hope they all eventually see it? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:18, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Ah yes of course. I am also very surprised it wasn't mentioned that would have been the best way to publicize it. However I didn't say to start begging people to join -just to let people who might be interested know. I'm sure more people will join in due course anyway, just thought it might be wise to publicize it a bit. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:04, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Wise could you see about creating a film icon for south africa. There are a few other african ones missing too. But I can't seem to find one for south africa ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:04, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter info
I want to apologize for not mentioning the new task force. I overlooked it when including new stories for the newsletter, and with so many things going on in our project, I'm bound to miss a thing or two. However, the newsletter was just sent out today, so I don't see a problem with mentioning the new task force in the newsletter. If you'd like, you can add information about it, or if you want I will. The newsletter can be edited by anybody, and it'd be great if you are interested in helping. If you don't want to edit the newsletter itself, you can either leave a message about a story/update you have on my talk page or the talk page of the newsletter, and I'll make sure it is added to the next newsletter. The newsletter is usually created at the beginning of the month and is updated as new GA/FAs are passed, new members join, or significant developments occur within the project. I usually update any stories and do the final touches on the last day of the month, and once that is done, send a message to Cbrown1023 who uses his bot (BrownBot) to send out the newsletter. If you need any further clarification, let me know, and again I apologize for missing one of our newest task forces. --Nehrams2020 08:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for rounding up that reference! The worst thing about trying to clean up after a serial hoaxer (see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Dubious edits by User:Maneisis) is that everything he's ever written has to be suspect, even though some of it is probably true. I really appreciate you nailing down that this particular edit was one of the true ones! --Stormie 01:57, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Please help with references for an article listed for deletion. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Korphai. `'Míkka>t 16:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the vote, but this is not what I had in mind. The problem is that the hardcore deletionists simply refuse to accept the provided references. See also Talk:Korphai. Can you add Thai references with more detailed description of the ensemble? Unfortunately I cannot do this myself, since I don't read or write Thai. `'Míkka>t 19:07, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Hong Kong roads
Oops!! I copied the template for Template:HKislandroads and must have saved it while the title was still Cinema of France. How did you know was it on your watchlist? Just findind a better way to connect the roads in Hong kong together it would be useful if we actually had maps of the streets so people know where they are! I'll do the same for Kowloon and the New Territories later -this includes roads around the airport of course. Yes I am feeling better although I;m still feeling a bit tired which is why I haven't been editing all that much. You also seem to have been a bit quiet but if you also have a naggling cold you don't feel like editing do you -particularly if you have other committments. Yes there are a few African cinema icons missing -I'm not too certain there is a point in creating one for all as many countries in the lists only have a handful of films as as far as we know don't have much of a cinema. There will be a few though such as Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria etc if they don't already. Let me know when you are better and have time to create perhaps three or four of them. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:38, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Incidentally I watched Aces Go Places the original the other day from 1982 and it was great! That intro scene with the bike in the elevator and down the escalator is cool isn't it!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:48, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
OK cool. Yes I've ordered Aces 2 dvd imported from Hong Kong for christmas also -I;ve only seen clips on youtube. It really is great fun -I dont know what it is but Hong Kong makes a superb location for action films. I haven't seen much of recent HK films - only Jackie Chan films. But yes the few films I've seen of Hong Kong action cinema in the 1970s and 1980s have to be some fo the coolest I've ever seen in my life. The Chinese have great character - the bald baddies really look evil as that Singoporean actor I started a while back ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
NE Asian task force
North East Asian task force
Copy of my note to Giro: Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea/Film has been set up by User:Dekkappai. Shouldn't this be moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Korean task force or a Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/North-East Asian task force which would include Japan, China and Hong Kong -the latter which I am working on. I think we should merge China and create a north east asian task force to include Japan, China, Hong Kong and Korea. What do you think? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 20:13, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes i thought it might be alittle too broad but like with South east asia I doubt there would be enough interest for seperate task forces. I am only really interested in Hong Kong film, but Dekkappai is working on Japanese and Korean film and some work on CHinese cinema alreayd of course. I just trying to think of a way to organize it a bit better as all of the NE Asian cinemas have extensive cinema industries (except North Korea - the country's leader is too busy playing snooker to invest in film) yet there is little to cover each of them. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:01, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Wisekwai in that I don't think it would be productive by most measures to make a North Asian task force; the national cinemas within it are too large and diversified. However, to address a point made several weeks ago (which I was unable to respond to at the time), I was the motivator behind the inclusion of Hong Kong and Taiwanese cinema within the Chinese group. This was not in any way a political stance - as I believe the page makes clear - rather, it was a way of finding a natural boundary in a way to avoid arguments of that sort. I don't feel that we're qualified to make decisions as to the legal status of Taiwan, or whether or not Hong Kong cinema post-1997 should be considered an integrated part of mainland Chinese cinema. However, most of the films emerging from these countries are in Chinese, which at the least provides a common pool of editors who can read and translate primary and secondary sources in the vernacular. I am not claiming this to be the perfect solution, but it seems to me a better one than "splitting the baby". Please feel free to let me know any further thoughts you've had on the matter! The Love of Siam
Hello Wisekwai, I have read your review [1] of "The Love of Siam". I really like this movie and try to write it in Thai wikipedia .Could you please start this article in English? --Sry85 (talk) 05:28, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for writing The Love of Siam :) --Sry85 (talk) 15:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
I have started an entry Mario Maurer, please check. Thanks --Sry85 (talk) 08:47, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:EmpireoftheWolvesposter.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:EmpireoftheWolvesposter.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Thirdship (talk) 00:15, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Deep in My Heart VHS cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Deep in My Heart VHS cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:28, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Icons request
OK here are the two we need most South Africa, and Soviet Union. The rest can wait. If you could do these over the next week or so (only if you have a spare moment) this would be helpful thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:30, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Merry Christmas
Hey is that the first time you've had a Thai film related image on the front page? Congrats! I wasn't aware you were into LGBT related films at all. I see you created a list and a category. I don't know if you know but John Carter has set up a Laos workgroup of WP South East Asia and has been tagging articles. Like Burma, Cambodia and Vietnam detailed coerage is missing there too. Like yourself I am too wikiprojected out - I've out my name down but I won't be adding my name to many more, . Anyway I think this is a good idea11:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk • contribs)
Of course I know you;ve had tons of Thai DYK'S I'm talking about having an image on the front page such as the director here. Wow I wonder why every other film is LGBT? I am also amazed a country like Thiland doesn;t have its own project yet. I think it should be started. There is a huge amount to cover. I guess that shows wikipedia's uneveness -other country projects on wikipedia are split into about ten different task forces yet there isn't evena country project yet on Thailand!! I know you are busy but I think it is very important to set one up -I'm certain that people like Ahoemeistet etc would out their name down. You seem to have alot on your plate at present though -I think I might ask John Carter if he could propose something. OK? Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 13:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes I think its best not to waste time with a task force and tagging when it clearly should be a functioning wikiproject of its own in the near future -but anythings better than at present. The potential number of articles related to Thailand is vast . I'll see what some of the others think and aim at getting something started new year. At present I'm looking at setting up a mini online business with ebay and researching some contacts with some wholesale suppliers so I may not have time to devote to wikipedia as before but the good thing about online sales is that you can list a whole series of items which may takes an hour or two and then hopefully the money will pour in! I recently finished my part time job and need something until I can get something permanent as my career. I'm sure I can be earning a decent amount online with the market potential of it The potential that can be made online though does makes me feel lazy!! Incidentally Thailand has increasingly become prominent on ebay - selling clothes -I recently bought a black thai silk shirt and it looks awesome and feels great! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 13:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
OK look slike it has started here as a task force Wikipedia:WikiProject Southeast Asia/Thailand work group. Hopefully soon enough it will grow into a seperate project. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:47, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
OK I've started Template:WP SE Asia Sidebar. Perhaps you can think of some things to add to it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 15:19, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Cheer up Wise! Any idea if some sort of Thai article assessment categories have been created yet? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:54, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Its just I;ve come across at least ten articles in the last few days that are untagged, evne more developed articles and would have tagged them as thailand but it doesn't exist yet -i didn't want to waste time in taggin it as south-east asia when somebody else will come along son enough and retag is again. I would to be honest not be pleased with naming it Thailand task force articles or whatever when the project should clearly be independent in its own right. I am very disappointed that in a project of this world scale there is so few people who are actually doing anything in these areas. Living in Thailand yourself and knowing how big the country is and how many potential articles there are it seems ridiculous at present there is only three or four people actively working on thai articles. Perhaps this has to do with the affluency of english in the country - many are probably using thai wikipedia instead ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 19:12, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
WP:FILMS Newsletter started
I just wanted to let you know that I started the newsletter today, and added several stories and updates to it. If there is anything you want to add, you can go ahead and do so, but make sure you finish by the 30th. Here's the link. Happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 09:31, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Whatever you think would be relevant, so if any big changes occurred within the task force or if you want to mention new members, that would all sound fine. As long as it's brief, it should be okay with whatever you come up with. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 05:56, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
