- Hello Cyberwolf434344,
- I represent Fairbanks Morse Defense, who I created this page for. We have tried editing the already created Faribanks Morse page multiple times to be updated with our information. However, any edits made are removed, I made the Fairbanks Morse Defense page becasue we can not have the edits remain.
- Can you please tell me the best possible way forward so we can have out information on one of the two pages?
- Thank you Will.Monroe FMDefense (talk) 20:13, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- You can't. We range from neutral to actively hostile (depending on the edit) with regards to how your company would like to be described and perceived. You have taken almost the worst possible approach by trying to edit an article in blatant violation of our terms and conditions, although I will concede that at least you didn't try to conceal that you were committing PR. (See other warnings on this talk page for how to go forward in the future.) --Orange Mike | Talk 00:40, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Will.Monroe FMDefense. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Will.Monroe FMDefense. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Will.Monroe FMDefense|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 21:26, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I work for Fairbanks Morse Defense which use to be Fairbanks Morse (The one with the article). I am simply wanting update the current article with up-to-date information. I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits.
- Thank you
- Will.Monroe FMDefense (talk) 13:24, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- If you work for Fairbanks Morse, you are a paid editor, you do not need to be specifically paid to make edits. You must make the paid editing disclosure as described. This is a legal requirement that you agree to abide by through your participation on Wikipedia.
- There are proper procedures for an individual with a conflict of interest such as yourself to request changes to the article about your company; this is described at this page. Please read that page, and use Talk:Fairbanks-Morse to propose your changes. You should not attempt to edit the article itself directly, nor should you attempt to create a duplicate article. 331dot (talk) 13:30, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I have added the information to the Fairbanks Morse Talk page. Will a Wiki editor add this to the main page, or how does this get added to the main page?
- Will.Monroe FMDefense (talk) 14:53, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- I also included that I have a COI . Does that have an effect if it will be added?
