June 2024
[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to List of Hindu temples in Kerala appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 20:46, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. Yes, these do indeed qualify as notable entries. They are among the more established and reknowned entities in the area but lack a website or a wikipedia page. Some have Facebook pages etc though unclear if they are official. Google does capture it as a valid entitiy with location. A google search of the entity reveals several listings that refer to it. A seperate Wikipedia page needs to exist for these entries. Wikiscans (talk) 04:00, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
I undid your edit on respirator
[edit]Hi. I just undid your previous edit adding a section on respiratory support devices.
I'm not sure if you've seen the talk page... you're not the first one to get ventilators and respirators confused, and it can help you avoid getting your edits reverted.⸺RandomStaplers 21:26, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. Yes, it can be confusing if viewed by name instead of functionality. To the extent it can help clarify the functionality please see https://coe.northeastern.edu/news/bioengineers-aim-to-improve-healthcare-in-ghana-and-beyond/. Cited reference was for associated published paper. It is a respiratory device that delivers normal air for breathing and avoids need for ventilators etc for patients. - Just created a talk section: [1]. The rest of the article is operating with a specific definition context of PPE. If you think the other context of 'respirator' is notable, it should probably go into a different article.⸺RandomStaplers 22:16, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- So, I hope you can see why I've reverted your edit. Words can have multiple definitions, and it's important to stay consistent with notable uses.
- Also, I did a quick verification of that link you cited[2]; it literally says 'ventilator.'⸺RandomStaplers 22:18, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- And so does your new source, [3]...
- Saying 'respiratory-assist' does not equal respirator, any more than the 'weathering' of rock has to do with the 'weather'. Since both of your sources do not contain the word 'respirator' to establish use of the word in that context, I ask you please do not put that contribution back until you propose your edit on the talk page first.
- But if you do have an edit in the PPE context, feel free to contribute. But you should still probably put your significant edit proposals in the talk page before you do so, like I have, even when it doesn't seem necessary. It will notify everyone and help demonstrate good faith editing. [4][5]⸺RandomStaplers 22:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

It was clearly explained, above, that you should not add names to lists, unless they already have their own article on the English Wikipedia, but you have continued doing so. Please stop - Arjayay (talk) 15:58, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia language guidelines at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Non-English_sources indicate that existing non-English Wikipedia articles/pages are valid/accepted as article reference.
- Does this active/working ml:വടക്കൻ_പറവൂർ_പെരുവാരം_മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം link to existing exceptionally well written Wikipedia article/page satisfy requirements for the needed listing? Chrome browser brings up English translation. Wikiscans (talk) 01:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
