Stub template on user page

[edit]

Hi Wikiphile1603. I hope you don't mind that I subst'ed the stub template in your user sandbox and removed the category link; I did this so that your page doesn't turn up in a category of articles for editors to expand (only articles are supposed to be stubs). Grutness...wha? 21:35, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talkpage edits

[edit]

Greetings! Do take care when making edits to discussion pages, as you have done with Talk:Dentistry. As per WP:TALK many editors like to see discussions remain as an archive that they have taken place. If an issue is resolved, you can post a comment to that effect, possibly using templates such as Template:Done. If the discussion page is too long, you may move old discussion to an archive page as per WP:ARCHIVE. I'm not going to revert your changes or anything, but other editors can tend to get up in arms about such things. -Verdatum (talk) 14:46, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just felt that I couldn't see what was happening on the page, and I would be impressed if anyone would actually have noticed any new comments. It had become a bit of a junk yard I think. But you are right: certainly an archive page is the way to go; I wish I had thought of it myself! I will definately do as you suggest in future, and I will read the references you posted. Thanks. --Wikiphile1603 (talk) 19:54, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marketcetera

[edit]

Looks OK now - and SoWhy has removed the tag on the same grounds already! Try to avoid blogs in references - they're not usually taken to be reliable. (Nor is Wikipedia and for the same reason.) Peridon (talk) 12:04, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi , of which reference were you speaking? Wenzi (talk) 03:28, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did add my comment in favor of the deletion because of CSD G11. I want to say that I am sorry, but I truly do not believe that this company does not belong in Wikipedia. Nothing personal, and I thank you for adding the post in the first place. Wenzi (talk) 03:46, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Life annuity

[edit]

Hi. It seems like a spam link, but I don't feel strongly about it one way or another. If it's been in one article for a while, leave it in. Thanks. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 19:41, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Horndal and other Swedish localities

[edit]

I think I have seen anywhere that geographic subdivisions are considered "inherently notable" on english wikipedia. Aren't they? --Skizzik talk 19:09, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some of them have no more than 200 people but most of them already have articles in 3 or more other laguages, they are officially localities in Sweden and all have at least one reference. --Skizzik talk 19:31, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Marketcetera

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Marketcetera. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marketcetera. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Marketcetera, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marketcetera (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. NW (Talk) 03:42, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 00:18, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on QuickFIX requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Nomination of QuickFIX for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article QuickFIX is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/QuickFIX until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
