Templates.

I noticed this edit. Why did you take that template out of WikiProject standards? The format it had before you changed it was more in line with WikiProject format. Acalamari 21:41, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Laaw.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Laaw.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair use rationale for Image:Tupac-mugshot.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tupac-mugshot.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:26, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Please do not keep re-adding The Diplomats discography to the page when there is a link to the discography at Diplomat Records. Also, please don't remove the diplomat members and affiliated members from the page. This information is found nowhere else and should be kept on The Diplomats page. By removing this content you effectively make links established in The Diplomats template useless.--BaRiMzI 22:04, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I've just seen what you did to the template. I've been the main/majority contributor to that template. If your going to make a change that drastic you have to discuss it first.--BaRiMzI 22:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I think that the template should remain as is considering they are all members of the group. Also, please read my above comments. The discography information would only be redundant if added to the article page if a link is already provided.--BaRiMzI 22:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Courtesy Curtis/Shade Of Black

I had made references to it by that name a while ago but after someone changed it, most likely an unregistered user, I left it alone. If you want to find out who I'd suggest looking at the history for that page or cam'rons page. I remember at least one user changing it back to shades of black after it was changed to courtesy curtis and another, just an IP, doing soemthing else. You/I should probably make a reference to this in the talk page and get it settled.--BaRiMzI 20:30, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Vitamin D (producer)

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Vitamin D (producer), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Mixtapes

You should stop creating articles for every mixtape you find on DatPiff, there are billions of mixtapes that have nothing to do with 50 Cent instead they were just made by some random DJs. Same thing happened to some Eminem bootlegs that had nothing to do with Eminem and then they were deleted. --- Realest4Life 15:40, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Are these mixtapes actually released by 50 himself? If not, then I suppose it's not part of his discography. 50's Back(Say Somethin Bitch) and Fully Loaded (mixtape) are hosted by DJ White Owl who I don't think has any affiliation. Spellcast 19:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

50 Cent

Hi, just with the mug shot, I kept removing it because there was no fair use rationale for the picture. I've gone ahead and added one, but next time you upload a non-free image, be sure to include a fair use rationale each time. Just having the license (such as 'album cover' or 'poster' isn't enough). And it'd be appreciated if you were more wary of the manual of style. I had to revert your edits several times today even though they were in good faith. The MoS might not be the most enjoyable read, but at least you'll be doing the correct formatting. With that being said, thanks for adding that info about his early career (turntables n stuff). It was very useful. Spellcast 23:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Infoboxes

Just a minor note, there's no need to link [[Interscope]] as [[Interscope Records|Interscope]] (see WP:R#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken). And thanks for the barnstar by the way. Appreciate it heaps! Spellcast 20:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I think the old one looks better in the infobox. I bought it up on the talk page and consensus seems to be leaning towards the old one (feel free to comment if you think otherwise). That BET picture should replace the G-Unit logo or be put under the 'Ventures' section. Spellcast 22:16, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I'll leave it for the meantime, but I'm not sure that BET pic is actually free. If the flickr user didn't actually take the pic or if he found it off some website, it'll probably be removed. If it is legitimate, it's so much better just to add both images. Spellcast 22:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

That image wouldn't be valid because there's no critical commentary of 50 Cent's movies. There is commentary of Angelina Jolie's movies, which is why the screen shots are valid. But each of 50's movies only get like a one-line mention, so it doesn't justify an image. Spellcast 12:23, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, that'd be a close call. I think it's best to ask the experts at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Whenever you have a question about whether it's ok to use a copyrighted image, you can ask there. Spellcast 12:35, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

non-free screenshots in 50 cent article

It would depend on what the screenshots show, and how they are used in the article. I see that they are diss songs, but you can't just stick it next to the text and say look here's a screenshot and the screenshot is a diss song, because that could be just as easily be conveyed with text alone. How do you want to use the screenshots in question? By the way, the fair use rationales for the pics in the biggie article are weak--I wouldn't use those as guidelines.
