Orphaned fair use image (Image:Tugun Bypass.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Tugun Bypass.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Should the Knights of Columbus really be listed as a secret society in the article Secret Society? Just wondering what you thought. Dwain 22:06, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Image:1986 Nissan 300ZX.jpg
Hey. I'm just wondering if the background to this picture was The Spit in Southport? I think I recognize it from somewhere and I'm hazarding a guess there. By the way, nice GC pictures. I head down to Surfers during holiday times (have an apartment down there) so your pictures are good fun to examine and spot :) SMC 23:43, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair Use image on User subpages
I have removed 2 Fair Use images from your User subpages. Fair use images are only allowed in the main namespace in articles discussing the subject of the image. ~ BigrTex 14:55, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello WikiCats, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Ship Simulator 2006.jpg) was found at the following location: User:WikiCats. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:19, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Millennium train.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Millennium train.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Harryboyles 12:41, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Tilt_train.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tilt_train.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 19:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 19:08, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Energex.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Energex.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Are you talking about a new debate? I don't think there is one. The whole article was rewritten, I probably just didn't notice that single line. If you think it fits somewhere, feel free to throw it back in. Chupper (talk) 02:50, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Re Gold Coast Hospital
No worries WikiCats. Glad to help out. I was working on another hospital article and stumbled across it in the process of checking out other ideas to use. I could see it needed work so fished out a few references and worked them into the article. It looks much better now and it was nice that someone noticed :-) Sting au Buzz Me... 07:43, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Australia Fair logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Australia Fair logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:08, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Reply about the Catholic Church
I was just browsing the pages reading in Wikipedia about religious matters, but yet I found out that there are many churches that hold the title Catholic, with Catholic meaning Universal in Greek. Historically, after the Great Schism the Eastern Churches, forming a single church body through intercommunion, were self-identified as Orthodox, while the Western Churches, forming a single church body under the Roman Pontiff, preferred the name Catholic, but essentially the two terms are equal to each other, as the Catholic (universal) Church which was founded by Christ, should teach the right doctrine (that is Orthodox in Greek), and vice versa - i.e. the Church that teaches the doctrine that doesn't add something new to tradition but yet upholds and further explains the same tradition is the Universal Church. This position is accepted by theologians of both the Western and Eastern churches (and further on the Oriental Orthodox), so the question is which doctrine is correct, and by that criterion the Catholic Church is identified. So that is why, in order to refer to each church in a more neutral way, the adjectives Catholic and Orthodox need to be accompanied by others, such as "Roman", "Eastern", "Western", "Oriental" etc. K kokkinos (talk) 20:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- K kokkinos makes a very important point above. I had a look through the edits in question, and the editor is not actually removing references to "the Catholic Church", he or she just making sure the the terms "Roman Catholic Church" and "Catholic Church" aren't used interchangably. AfD nomination of Federation Walk
I have nominated Federation Walk, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Federation Walk. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. AfD nomination of Cats Indoors
An editor has nominated Cats Indoors, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cats Indoors and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:59, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

There is nothing disruptive about any of the tags I have placed, and I challenge anyone to disagree. The references are still not cited properly. Either it gets properly referenced or it gets a tag. There is nothing here that I have done to justify being banned, so don't threaten me thanks. I've contibuted more to rail related articles in Sydney than many. Yep i dont even agree with your edit - but hey there a couple of these articles untouched for a while and i come back to them and i think - hey what was happening when they got through - neither impact or destroy are anywhere what I experienced of altered locations when i lived on the west coast of tas before the no dams campaign - its more of trying to get a handle of a number of issues inside these damned issues - check out lake pedder - see what you think about the length to which it has gone to explain that the original lake pedder has no living relationship with the current one with that name - sigh SatuSuro 11:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Gold Coast
I'm in the process of doing an entire series of articles and improvements to Queensland local government articles. The sources for the precise information re pre- and post- suburbs of the Gold Coast was located in an ABS publication - Australian Bureau of Statistics (1993). 2730.3 Census counts for small areas : Queensland. ISBN 0642172366. The publication preceded the amalgamation and had an itemisation of GCC and most urban Gold Coast suburbs within the Shire of Albert. Orderinchaos 13:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think one would argue that Advancetown, Springbrook or Alberton are part of the Gold Coast as an urban and sociogeographic area, even though for the last 14 years all three have been within the Council's area. Orderinchaos 01:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: User talk:24.193.136.56
Hello, the edits that 24.192.126.56 (an anonymous user) made was obviously not constructive and therefore should be removed as soon as possible. You can undo undesirable edits quickly from the "history tab" of the page. To revert or undo an edit, click the undo button next to the user or IP whose edits you want to undo. See Help:Reverting for more information on reverting changes from a page. If the user continues making unconstructive edits, warnings should be posted on their talk page; once sufficiently warned, they should be reported to an admin at WP:AIV. Hopefully this helps, if you are still confused then don't hesitate to ask! --Hdt83 Chat 00:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Broadbeach logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Broadbeach logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --23:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
PETA
The dalmation thing is not a notable controversy as far as I know (and that part was not sourced), and the general controversy that you're alluding to is covered very well in the two sections I linked in my edit summary. We don't need a "controversy" section if the controversies are already covered in the proper sections of the article. It's unnecessary and just bloats the article. - Wikicats, I saw your message to my daughter on her talk page. Thank you for trying to be friendly but she is not allowed to give out any personal info online, even the name of our cat. She hasn't turned out to be much of a Wikipedian in spite of my efforts to get her interested - to my dismay - I think Wikipedia is a great thing for students. It helps debating skills, writing skills, research skills and is safer than going out with friends on the weekend (but maybe not as much fun!) Oh well, parents can lead a horse to water but they can never make them drink I guess. NancyHeise (talk) 16:20, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot.
