Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Graffiti (album). When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. TNXMan 13:44, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Respectfully, I think it may be time for a quick break to avoid an edit war on the Graffiti (album) page. I understand your are trying to provide information you think is valuable, and I'd like to suggest that it may make sense to discuss your thoughts on that articles talk page or perhaps at WP:AFC. Just an unsolicited suggestion. Regards.    7  talk to me }     13:52, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Written on Her, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Image tagging for File:Small-bio2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Small-bio2.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Replaceable fair use Image:Jay-Sean.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jay-Sean.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.61.193 (talk) 00:35, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do not add blatantly promotional material to Wikipedia

[edit]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Jay Sean. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 18:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Rebirth (Lil Wayne album). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 23:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Written on Her. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. GlassCobra 16:18, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:JaySean.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.jaysean.com/dbimages/small-news89.jpg. As a copyright violation, File:JaySean.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:JaySean.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:JaySean.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at File talk:JaySean.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:JaySean.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 02:15, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to revert my edits to Rebirth (Lil Wayne album).

  • You are changing a SOURCED release date of August 18 to a unsourced date of June 15.
  • You are reverting my work in the background section. Every previous release date should NOT be sourced, it adds clutter to the article.
  • You continue to add a "Possible tracks" section which is against Wikipedia's guidelines of WP:CRYSTAL, which states that ALL content must be sourced by a reliable source, the "sources" you provide are blog sources of a non-credible fan-site, which is the definition of non-reliable.
  • You vandalize the category of Cash Money Records to Cash Money Recordserl albums, that is clear vandalism and will get you blocked from editing Wikipedia pages.

Please stop making these changes or I'll have to get an administrator involved. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 22:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Birdman Princeless.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Birdman Princeless.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. License tagging for File:Jay Down Ft Wayne.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jay Down Ft Wayne.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:05, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Jay Sean Ft. Lil Wayne - Down.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILY (TALK) 22:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ride it.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ride it.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 01:06, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking of Wiki-11233

[edit]

Account has been unblocked, with restrictions documented at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:88.91.14.52&oldid=313983665. For convenience:

  1. No alternate accounts, and no anonymous editing: you will edit as Wiki-11233, and no-one else.
  2. No reverts: you aren't allowed to revert any edits by any editors.
  3. No unsourced charts. Any chart you add to any article has to have an explicit source.
  4. No use of YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or MySpace as sources. —Kww(talk) 22:48, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Platinum Certification

[edit]

You nearly got blocked again for providing false information. When you listed Down as being platinum, you provided the RIAA as a reference. The RIAA database does not show "Down" as platinum yet. The only valid reference for that data is http://www.jaysean.com/news.shtml?111 . When you provide a reference, you must make sure that the reference says that your edit is true.

I removed some other things you said, too. Don't include rumors in articles, and don't include "possible" next singles. If you need to say "may", you shouldn't write it.—Kww(talk) 19:33, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I edit the my Down article and you said it was good, with chart, performace video and more, but now are you just taking away that i pasted in the original Down article from my down article? why?

I'm putting pieces back in. I reverted because of bad source you used for the Platinum certification. I put the platinum back in once I found a good source. Now, I'm going over the other bits. Some of them, I missed before. Here's one problem:
It is co-producted by Cash Money Records CEO's [[Birdman (rapper)|Baby]] & [[Ronald "Slim" Williams|Slim]]. The single was released on iTunes in Belgium, France, Sweden and New Zealand for digital download. On September 10, 2009 was the single added to radio stations across the U.K., and will be released for digital download via iTunes on October 26, 2009.<ref>[http://twitter.com/jaysean/status/3906693578]</ref> .
I can't put that back in, because it is sourced to Twitter. Please find another source.—Kww(talk) 21:26, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, no problem, but what with the chart and performace?

Most things are back. I won't put back the change to describe him as an "R&B star" instead of "R&B artist", or describing Lil Wayne as a "mega rapper", because that's fan language. On the chart changes, I have found out that those are just new names for component charts: all of those are components of the Billboard Hot 100.
Another thing I couldn't change was the New Zealand position: he reached #4 there, so your #9 was wrong.—Kww(talk) 21:48, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No reversions means no reversions

[edit]

Let me make this clear: if another editor adds something, you aren't allowed to remove it. If another editor removes something you added, you are not allowed to put it back. If you think there's a problem, bring it to me, and I will decide. With this edit, you added a lot of things to the infobox field. Template:infobox_single says that the release date in the infobox should be "... the earliest known date, using a single occurrence of  ()" I took it out, and you are not permitted to put it back. One more time for emphasis: you are not permitted to put it back. I'm taking it back out again. If you add it back, or if you undo another editor's changes again while you are on restrictions, you will be blocked again. Permanently. Your restrictions are very harsh and strict. They are that way so that I can teach you how to edit.—Kww(talk) 16:00, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you do this edit after such an explicit warning that you are not permitted to put it back, combined with an explanation that the infobox has a single release date?—Kww(talk) 22:05, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because the other was the release date when the single hit the Airplay, and there was not any release date for when it was released as a single Just like this article see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forever_%28Drake_song%29 "Radio and Single" release and I havent edit the release date, just see the 'History' off the article if you want.

We need to be clear. Even if you were right, it doesn't matter: I changed it, and you are not permitted to put it back. You agreed to not revert any editors. If you make a change, and someone undoes it, you are not permitted to put it back. Do you understand that?
On the other point, Template:infobox_single says one date. Any article with two dates is incorrect.—Kww(talk) 22:19, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So why is it two release dato to, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forever_%28Drake_song%29, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maybach_Music_2 and what with this 4 release http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_It_Is_%28Strike_a_Pose%29 I Just want a answer back, why can other article have more then one release date and 'Down' just one? Answer my and I will understand.

I can't make every article perfect. All articles should follow guidelines. Some do not. They are bad examples. You should not copy bad examples, you should follow the guidelines. I told you the guideline when I fixed your edit the first time.
If someone undoes one of your changes, and you want to put it back, ask me about it. If I agree that you are right, I will let you put it back. If you are wrong, I will explain why. If you put it back without asking, or put it back after I said "no", you will be blocked. It was hard to get you unblocked. If you get blocked again, you will not be unblocked again.
You need to understand that I am disappointed. When I saw you had added the date back, I nearly had you blocked again. You agreed to four rules. They are easy rules to follow.—Kww(talk) 22:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, next time will I ask you.

Written on Her

[edit]

Your "no reverting" rule applies to this article as well. I undid your edits to that article on August 21, and installed a redirect. You are not permitted to undo that change. That song fails WP:NSONGS, because it has not charted, has not won an award, and has no other artist has created a version of it. It cannot have an article at Wikipedia. Again, you are not permitted to undo the redirect. If you recreate that article again, or undo another editor's edits again while you are under restrictions, you will be blocked. Permanently.—Kww(talk) 16:10, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, sorry.

Hey Kww, I just want to ask you before I do that I want to do, so lets start. Can I make a article to "Written on Her" because the song has been charted at The Billboard Rap song and a article to "Money to Blow", the song has also be charted on Billboard. Can i make articles and I'm going to give sourcs?

What source do you have that says it charted? I don't see it on Billboard.—Kww(talk) 15:58, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

-http://www.billboard.com/#/artist/birdman-featuring-jay-sean/156299 (Money to Blow)

-http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/rap-songs?order=gainer (Written on Her)

There are the sourcs, hope you are gonna like it.

Edit User:Wiki-11233/Written on Her, and let me know when you think you are done.—Kww(talk) 17:16, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finish. like it?

I can't figure out what you are trying to say about the mansion, and there is some YouTube stuff in there that needs fixing.—Kww(talk) 18:33, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was there from before, but I can fix it. Better?

Copied it to main article. User:Wiki-11233/Money to Blow is available for you to edit.—Kww(talk) 19:02, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry I was slow. I can't find a source for that "67" on Hot Digital Songs. Can you check again on that?—Kww(talk) 02:56, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Any progress?—Kww(talk) 13:48, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think they removed it, but just forget the article. The song was not popular.

Fair use rationale for File:Jay Sean Down.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jay Sean Down.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 23:12, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Single being "from", capitalization

[edit]

This edit has been reverted: a single can't be from two different albums: normally, the first appearance is listed.

Please follow standard English capitalization rules. "Exclusive" and "Remix" should not be capitalized.—Kww(talk) 15:01, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POV edit

[edit]

This edit was reverted because of its point of view. If you want to describe a song as "failed", you need to provide a source. Words like that make it seem like Wikipedia thinks the song is bad, and we try to stay neutral. Talk about what other people have said, not what you think.—Kww(talk) 15:20, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date format

[edit]

This edit was reverted because of date formatting. For British topics, we write dates in British format, which is <number of day> <name of month> <number of year>, such as 13 March 2009. Do not change date formats in existing articles. MOS:DATE covers this.—Kww(talk) 15:22, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

debut single

[edit]

This edit was reverted because it doesn't make much sense. Was there a single from the album that was released earlier in a different country?—Kww(talk) 15:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Jay Sean Down.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Jay Sean Down.jpg.

Thank you. — ξxplicit 18:55, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fan language, fan sites

[edit]

I removed some of your material. Jay Sean's "hopes" are for fan-sites, not for an encyclopedia. I also changed your reference. Entertainment sites like desihits.com aren't always bad sources, but they aren't the best. "Desihits says the BBC says ..." isn't as good as "The BBC says ...", so I found the original BBC article and used it as a source. When someone copies a news article, please look for the original.—Kww(talk) 14:58, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Jay Sean Ft. Lil Wayne - Down.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Jay Sean Ft. Lil Wayne - Down.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:47, 29 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ejfetters (talk) 06:47, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that you cannot revert other editors. I've warned you multiple times. I've given you multiple second chances. Yet, here you insert two charts, Jayy008 removes them, and you put them back without discussion.—Kww(talk) 23:04, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
