Norristhorpe

I am interested to know why your knowledge of Norristhorpe is greater than mine. To such an extent that you think a page with no History is better that one with some - even if you do not find it interesting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by David P Sheard (talkcontribs) 11:58, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

I accept your criticism re lack of sources, and accept a great deal was waffle, but if you rule out sources such as old school hand-books, a great deal of local history (or lore) will be lost for ever. — Preceding unsigned comment added by David P Sheard (talkcontribs) 17:13, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Do the rules allow a heading of "Folk Lore" I ask because I am concerned about loosing the "oral history" from my father and grandfather. — Preceding unsigned comment added by David P Sheard (talkcontribs) 11:40, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

No, only information that comes from a RS may be added to an article.  little green rosetta(talk)

Deborah Cox

I don't understand why pop music is listed in her and many other black female R&B/Soul singer's musical genres, when in fact they do not sing the style of music!!!! If you listen to her songs and many other songs by different artist, it's very clear their R&B/Soul singers. NOT POP! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.168.81.68 (talk) 01:15, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

My edit to Dilma Rousseff's page

Hello Widr,

Thank you for your kind message. It was very much appreciated. I just have one question for you: why do you think my alteration to that particular caption was not constructive, and could you possibly impart some advice as to how to do a better job of making edits in the future? I am always willing to learn!

Kind regards, Captain Slappy — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.85.139.19 (talk) 20:11, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

This edit — the IP was removing content in good faith. This section appears to be a hoax, as I could find nothing on it on Google. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 15:00, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Nonsense

It was nonsense, have you read it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.180.212.248 (talk) 16:22, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

You probably should be more specific on what article. Otherwise, no one can understand. § WiHkibew (talk) § 23:02, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello Widr. Yes, I erased that part without discussing it, that was a mistake, sorry for that. But honestly, that "talk" page for discussing things, who's managing that? or how's the way of aprove or dissaprove things?. That part of awards and nominations is ridiculous; Mtv Awards?? Nickelodeon Kids Awards?? are we still in the 90's??? C'mon this kind of things continue growing the reputation of blink 182 as a band for "silly kids". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rockygarbanzos (talkcontribs) 17:11, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Widr!!! Why did you remove my edit from "Good Time" page? Can you answer me, please!! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.25.188.110 (talk) 19:56, 5 January 2013 (UTC) Dear Widr, the problem is that there aren't website with the official Italy Top 100 Singles (I'm seeking it from last summer) so I put this chart...it is the only Top 100 Singles that I found for Italy. Why it is a badchart? I don't think so.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.25.188.110 (talk) 20:04, 5 January 2013 (UTC) One last question Widr: is there any way to put charly1300 charts on a wikipedia page without make the edit deleted? And this website chart is bad too? Re: Report of abusive edits

I apologize for my inexperience at this Wikipedia thing, but I am simply trying to revert the Wikipedia entry back to its original content as it was before . If you would look at the history..... "joyful hawbaker" completely edited the entry yesterday to non- factual and abusive information which is in clear violation of Wikipedia rules. It is her entry and not mine that should be rebuked and deleted. Please look at the history of edits and you will see the facts to back up my edits to this page. I respectfully ask that you please revert joyful Hawbaker's edits to the original content.. Leedezine (talk) 01:21, 6 January 2013 (UTC) leedezine

I have blocked the IP. Can I suggest that whilst the IP's edit was obviously unconstructive, it would be better to report them to WP:AIV or WP:AN3 rather than continue to revert? Thanks, Black Kite (talk) 18:34, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorry just got a message pop up from you about you reverting a "Betty Kirshaw" Wikipedia page. Thought i would just tell you that was probably the previous (or earlier) tenant of this house. Just moved in so that sort of thing is happening a lot. Ill stick on my personal account from now on but just so you know that's not me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.53.32 (talk) 19:46, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Edit to Martin Ssempa

Hello Widr,

On a number of occasions, Mr Ssempa has actually said this, and it is arguably his most well-known phrase, and as there was nothing on the page about it, I thought it should be inserted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mafufuray (talkcontribs) 10:28, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

Missing Reference to Family Business page

Widr, I made a change to the family business page which was deleted. Alderson (2011) is cited twice in the wikipedia narrative. However, the reference which was there originally has been deleted.

I added the reference back in, and it has been deleted again?

University of Georgia edits

Hello Widr,

I see you undid some of my work on the University of Georgia page. I was not logged into my account. Please do not undo the corrections. They have been appropriately added. I am rearranging the page as part of a greater effort to revamp the page. Currently, the page has mislabeled facilities with academics and research. I swamped these two titles to better reflect content.

Thanks UGAMD (talk) 02:00, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

ISL stands for Irish Sign Language already. Italian Sign Language should remain LIS....

About the reversal I removed "ISL" because, simply put, when talking about sign language acronyms one usually uses the local acronyms, e.g. LSQ for Quebec Sign Language, LSF for French Sign Language and so on, not QSL nor FSL no matter what language one writes them in. The same should be for the acronym for "Italian Sign Language", which is LIS. Not ISL. Besides "ISL" is already in use by Irish Sign Language :p

That's all.

Best regards.

2013 CR Vasco da Gama season

Well, I put it on the page by the fact that Campeonato Carioca, like other state championships, are very important for Brazilian football, and for Vasco da Gama, who in this moment plays a friendly against Ajax, isn't different . If you want to add something else in addition, help is very welcome!

PS.: I'm Brazilian, and sorry for my bad english!

Alt med

Content was moved from the wrong section into the right section. I copied the content to the correct section, rewording bullet points into English sentences. I went back and deleted it after it was moved. No content was deleted. If it appears to be deleted, please read the new first few sentences in the section first paragraph, and you will find the stats in English language style. (At the time of yor revert, the info specific to regulation in Texas was in the process of being moved to a new section specific to Texas, but in the correct section topic, which is "regulation", not "prevalence of use". (I wouldn't dare delete content altogether, since in that article, doing so would be immediately undone by one of the two "sides" there . (I am on the "science side", but I am editing NPOV, by not deleting anything, just correctly placing it). Please let me know if this fails to address your concerns, since I am just about done editing the prevalence of use section, which previously repeated much of he same info, or had offtopic material that needed to be moved to other sections. Thanks. 24.130.156.204 (talk) 22:56, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

PS, if you start editing there, you might want to use an anon IP, not your username. This is so your edits, not you, are what is looked at by others. Your username won't win any barnstars editing from an anon IP like that, but it helps keep focus on content, not editors. 24.130.156.204 (talk) 22:58, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

  • PSS, more importantly - Would it be possible for you, not me, to undo your revert? I don't want to do anything that gives the appearance of edit warring or any conflict at all. I am trying to finally fix simple problems with that article, and to do so without any controversial edits, and it seems to be working so far. 24.130.156.204 (talk) 23:02, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I protected this page, and just wanted you to know that this edit was really bad. Although 24.193.140.9 had added some POV to the article, you basically reverted it to an earlier state containing serious violations of the BLP. This is not a warning or anything like that, I just wanted you to know so you can be more careful in the future. Bjelleklang - talk 12:29, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Bonanza High School

Hi, I'm not sure what you meant by constructive...I am a graduate of 1982 class of Bonanza High School and was updating the class list of alumni, I am an acclaimed artist in Northern CA. Sorry, it's not eligible for A7 as it's software not web content. The difference is where it's used. If the thing is on a website and not downloaded to your own machine, it's web content and eligible for A7. If it's used at home on your own machine, it's software and only eligible for other categories of CSD like spam, context and so on - if applicable - but not A7 as it's a product. PROD or AfD can apply if it's thought non-notable. I can't see any notability there, and I've slapped three tags on it. You may feel like AfD (PROD would certainly be declined as the author is closely connected to one of the external links...). Peridon (talk) 11:43, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Lauri Tilkanen.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Lauri Tilkanen.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 22:44, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Lauri Tilkanen.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Stefan2 (talk) 00:12, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Lauri Tilkanen.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lauri Tilkanen.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 12:11, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

* About Clarksville, Texas

I do not see why the heading "Controversy" needs to be included.

This was some confused story that happened 5 years ago, and no updates were ever given (on Wikipedia or anywhere else, as far as I know).

Why does that story deserve a special category that will last (indefinitely?) into the future?

I don't see how Wikipedia can simply pick one NEGATIVE story, and try to paint the town in a negative light.

Thank you for any clarification.
