Cite Web template requires Title parameter

[edit]

Please remember to include the title of a source when you use the cite web parameter. When you don't, it places a large red error message in the article that others have to come back to clean up. Thanks! ElKevbo (talk) 16:52, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. Thanks, UGAMD

Username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created University of Georgia, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "UGAMD", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. --Drm310 (talk) 14:39, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I am a UGA alumnus, but I do not have a conflict of interest. I will not distort the Wikipidea page. I have no reason to do so. All my editing come with cites to sources. I saw that the page for University of Georgia was quite outdated and disorganized. I wanted to fix it. I also contribute to other pages in which I am familiar to. I urge others to come help me edit this page.

Best, UGAMD

Hello. It would be helpful to explain in the edit summary what you are doing, especially if you remove lots of content from an article. That way your edits are not likely to get misidentified as vandalism. Thank you. Widr (talk) 02:10, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to request a name change to avoid confusion of biased writings. UGAMD (talk) 23:24, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Besides the fact that the chosen username is already registered, do you understand conflict of interest? You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the COI above. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 12:45, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
