[edit]Hi WhenYouWiki! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Fidgeting that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Which one? I have made 3 in a very short timespan, 2 I would say are minor and one more major edit. If you could clarify this I may be able to revert the issue.
Thanks! WhenYouWiki (talk) 07:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- I would say this one and this one - they're adding new content into the article that wasn't there before, instead of just fixing a mistake or removing something silly. Vukky, a real human 👀 (talk to me!) 07:11, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Also, once you've marked an edit as minor, I don't think you can unmark it as minor - but it's a good idea to keep this in mind for the future! Vukky, a real human 👀 (talk to me!) 07:13, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! Sorry about that, I'm new to Wikipedia (I joined today!) and had not noticed the very specific definition of minor edit on Wikipedia, and simply thought it was a small edit. Will keep this in mind for next time!
P.S. I did read the article on minor edits after you told me about my mistake. WhenYouWiki (talk) 07:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Welcome! I hope you enjoy being here. :) Vukky, a real human 👀 (talk to me!) 07:21, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Broken userboxes?
[edit]Hello again! It looks like the Wikipedia mobile app Visual Editor is breaking your Chess userboxes, would you like me to fix that for you? Vukky, a real human 👀 (talk to me!) 08:30, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
I actually don't know how to use userboxes... sorry! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WhenYouWiki (talk • contribs) 08:36, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, what I said was wrong (oops), it looks like you're using the visual editor. If you'd like to just type
{{User chess}}
, you'd have to use the source editor. You can use it by changing your editing mode to "Show me both editor tabs", then going to your user page and clicking "edit source". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vukky (talk • contribs) 08:37, 1 June 2021 (UTC) - Thank you! Security
[edit]"I sometimes use my phone or (shared) school devices to edit and use wikipedia"
Have you considered making a second security account for shared devices? - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 09:43, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Would that be sockpuppetry? WhenYouWiki (A person) (Talk) 09:44, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- @WhenYouWiki: It's in the section for legit alt accounts (and if you want the same permission on that account, go to WP:RFP/C or WP:RFP/EC) - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 09:48, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Cool, will do. WhenYouWiki (A person) (Talk) 09:50, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Also, check the full page for sockpuppetry. (don't do anything that breaks sockpuppetry rules on the 2nd account) - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 09:52, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
