West Virginia

I just saw your message. I have been pretty busy over here in Mineral County. The WV section now officially sucks, LOL. People added back stuff we moved out, and it is getting too long. We need to move the History, Economics and everything back into the sub articles to clean it up again. --71Demon 01:01, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

I really think the seperate page articles make it cleaner. A little paragraph never really tells you what you want to know so you have to click to drill down to get what you want. It looks very clean without the articles, and still conveys the same information. Actually the liks in the little paragraphs are harder to see than just the links. --71Demon 14:47, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

She has been kind enough to release to me some of her personal archives, so right now I am trying to just get as much info up there as I can. The next few steps have to do with improving prose and word flow. Thanks for your copyedit, review, and proofing; it made the article so much better. Feel free to message me anytime you have an article that you want a set of eyeballs to look at. Cheers. youngamerican (talk) 14:22, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Convention debate

In regards to this whole olympics thing, I really think we need to have a debate over what our conventions should be, as in how we should display certain things or how tables should be ordered, how ranks should be set...etc. almost every page is different and this needs to be set to a standard. It seems everybody is doing what they want and that's not right. Look at 2006 Winter Olympics medal count for example...there are two tables becuase they can't come to agreement on one. Do you agree with me that we should start something?
--Jared [T]/[C]\[P:O]/[@]\[+] 21:55, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to start something. I'll call you when I'm done.
--Jared [T]/[C]\[P:O]/[@]\[+] 22:06, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I finished making the "debate" article, so you can go there to discuss your feelings. Please do! --Jared [T]/[+] 23:37, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Admin?

I'm just curious; are you a Wiki admin? If so, could you close out the debate on Total Olympics medal count. It is getting bothersome to look at and the debate is over. I'm not an admin so I can't do it. Thanks. --Jared [T]/[+] 00:42, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Longs Island is in Maryland. Maryland owns to the low water mark on the West Virginia side of the river. Anything in the river belongs to Maryland. Longs Island is unique as it is only accessable from WV. --71Demon 16:07, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

It is definately Maryland the maps are wrong. Called Roseanne at the assessors office Longs Island is in Maryland and Mineral County collects no taxes. --71Demon 16:53, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
It has always been Maryland since Thomas Fairfax, 6th Lord Fairfax of Cameron had it surveyed. Both Virginia and West Virginia court challenges have been rejected. --71Demon 17:17, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem adding the other areas. I think in the Eastern Pan Handle, all Incorportated Towns should be listed. What do you think? --71Demon 17:10, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Studying history

That's not a question I can answer, I'm afraid. I always and only wanted to do mine at Melbourne because I knew people there, so I didn't shop around. I can recommend Melbourne, but beyond that I have no recent knowledge. Adam 22:52, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

I thought this would be a good addition. --71Demon 23:51, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

VJ Day Surrender Ships

http://www.usswestvirginia.org/tokyo_ships_present.htm

I think a category for ships present in Tokoyo Bay on Sept 2, 1945 for the end of World War II would be a good category. Two related to WV were there. What did you think of the WV related ship category. USS Barr (APD-39) --71Demon 19:15, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

I'm sure there are more. Most likely named for West Virginians. We need to find them. We need to enlist some help. I knew of the USS Barr because the guy was from Keyser. Also what do we call the surrender ships category? --71Demon 19:27, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Somebody adds it ;-)

(We don't really have a formal process at this point, so the assumption was that people would add things as needed. It appears that Leithp has already added this article to the worklist, so everything is fine.) —Kirill Lokshin 23:52, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Category:Ships in Tokyo Bay on VJ Day

What ya think? --71Demon 02:10, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Never mind VJ is not surrender day. --71Demon 02:12, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Category:Ships at the Japanese Instrument of Surrender

I went with that. I put the USS Barr in. --71Demon 02:20, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Potomac River System

Works, but I do think you should pull the Mill Creek link out. If some one goest to Patterson Creek they will find it. --71Demon 02:20, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

The minor ones should be left out of the template. The tributaries to streams that flow into the Potomac should not be listed in the Potomac section. If some one clicks on the name of the stream like Patterson Creek, then they can find its tributraries. It is a drill down approach that works well. --71Demon 03:00, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I loved your message...

And by the way my Dutch is even worse. You can have a piece of my liver whenever you want (I never drink alcohol, liver quality excellent ;) ). --DelftUser 18:43, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Medal Counts

A user recently created this page: 2006 Winter Olympics diploma count. This was created to show the top-8 counts that were deleted by the discussion topic I believe you created. In accordance with the debate and its supporting consensus, I nominated it for deletion. (See here). I just wanted to let you know because some people there (who incidentally didn;'t take part in the debate) don't understand my viewpoint, so I wanted to see if you wouldn't mind chiming in. Thanks a lot! P.S. Tell other people about it if you strongly believe it should be deleted!. --Jared [T]/[+] 00:21, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Whatever we were talking about

Well, haha, funny you should mention him and his sockpuppets. A few days ago, I listed them for Sockpuppetry under WP:CHECK (click that to see their entry). I've only gotten one comment, and that was from the person who helped me submit the entry and find evidence! I guess they have a back log...that just shows what a great community WP is haha. Anyway, so when I put the sock. template on Wintermetal's page, he kept getting rid of it and saying "Ruin your own home page" So I found someone to block him...I dont know when he gets unblocked, but I think its when the sock thing is over. Anyways, thanks for listening to what I had to say. I hope you will put a comment there! Talk to ya later. --Jared [T]/[+] 01:04, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

No, I only messaged you, because you were first on the list. If you would like to tell others, be my guest. This is the archive. Thanks for helping out! --Jared [T]/[+] 01:14, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Urgent!

Caponer, please go to this page ASAP, as the Olympic conventions pages have been nominated for deletion! I trust that you like them a lot and from your edits, you are not willing to lose all of the work you put in. I urge you to vote "Keep", as 3 weeks of work are about to go down the drain! Thanks. Olympic conventions debate

Hi all! The debate on Olympic conventions has been moved and is now under the auspices of WikiProject Sports Olympics/Olympic conventions. We are now trying to decide what to do with all of the data that has been collected and start some sort of "governance". If you'd like to take part in this discussion, feel free to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Sports_Olympics#Ground_rules (the WikiProject talk page). We would appreciate your help! Happy St. Partick's Day! --J@red [T]/[+] 20:02, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Sockpuppets

Hi,

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, I was offline for a few weeks. I'm replying to the message you left on my talk page in February. I hope things are sorted out now, but if not I'd ask the people involved to take a look at your edit history and compare it with the sockpuppets' - if they're voting on subjects that you've never shown any interest in then I'd have thought they'd give you the benefit of the doubt. You'd do better asking the people who have checkuser access though. CTOAGN (talk) 14:53, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

You supported American Revolutionary War, which has been selected as the Military history WikiProject's new Collaboration of the Fortnight. Please help improve this article to featured article standards. Kirill Lokshin 23:30, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Muriel McCormick Hubbard

I noticed that you created the article for Muriel McCormick Hubbard. It was both PRODded and speedied and I removed them both. If you could provide more information on this individual, it will likely keep this from being deleted. Pepsidrinka 20:05, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

The article is now up for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Muriel McCormick Hubbard. Pepsidrinka 21:16, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I hate noobs!!!!! Guy deletes the entire article and then puts up possible copyright violation. As his source he sites an offical US Government website, which by definition is Public Domain! Grrrrrr! What is the procedure to revert it back the way it was without cutting and pasting. I never have figured that out. --71Demon 17:36, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

They didn't delete it, some noob did. He didn't read. Look at the discussion page he apologized for what he did. --71Demon 17:14, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
