Orphaned non-free media (File:This-life-of-mine-kareem-salama.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:This-life-of-mine-kareem-salama.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Some random guy moved the Syrian uprising article

...to civil war in spite of no consensus. I want an admin to close the debate. I am complaining and hope you will too. Tradedia (talk) 02:39, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Excuse me, i was moved the article, but only by opinion of the United Nations. Doncsecztalk 06:18, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
The opinion of the United Nations is not personal. Accordingly, the moving is legal. Doncsecztalk 06:28, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Moreover, it is explicitly a civil war. The blind can see. Doncsecztalk 06:32, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
The opinion is not subjective, as the case did not improve in Syria. The UN-General is military expert and very familiar with the situation. Not accidentally says that this is a civil war. Doncsecztalk 06:36, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

I have gone ahead and asked for an admin to intervene, see: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Syrian Civil War (2011–present). Changing the title of the infobox and the first sentence isnt going to help here if the title remains the same but only cause confusion to readers. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:52, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

I would just wait for an admin to close the discussion before going at it with the other editor's POV if both sides here have a truce and an admin closes teh discussion with a final say then we can go from there. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 03:13, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your help and very well written arguments. Tradedia (talk) 01:50, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Title

I saw your comment on Tradedia's profile and also the one on the admin noticeboard, while I do agree that the norm is to keep the title Uprising, changing it back now from Civil war will only add to the chaos, nobody is getting their way here as the admin closing the discussion has the final say and can see that the title was changed before the move request could be closed. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 03:59, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Mokobé. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

What happened here? On looking at the article, I found that the one reference you had for a chart didn't match the actual data from the source, and the remaining charts (Portugal and Brazil) listed charts that are listed on WP:BADCHARTS. I've corrected it, but you are usually a much better editor than this. Did you use the Portuguese Wikipedia as a source?—Kww(talk) 17:56, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

The Billboard Brasil chart is quite acceptable, as are the raw Crowley Broadcasting Services charts, both of which are of Brazilian origin. That's documented on WP:GOODCHARTS. There are a number of countries with no acceptable singles charts, and Portugal is unfortunately one of them. I wish there was a good way to avoid the bias, but it's a matter of finding reliable sources. My life becomes easier every time someone finds a reliable chart for the countries that don't have them.
I do have problems with the idea that you brought data in from the Portuguese Wikipedia and didn't independently verify the chart positions contained in it and provide references. Please don't do that: it's great to use a foreign language Wiki as a starting point, but the data in it is just as subsceptible to vandalism as it is here: it can't be trusted without verification.—Kww(talk) 19:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Just as a followup, the rule of thumb for a chart winding up on WP:BADCHARTS is that is a single-station/single-network/single-vendor chart or that no one can find a trace of reliable coverage of it. All it takes for me to take it off of WP:BADCHARTS is that someone can demonstrate that it gets some level of press coverage (local press is just fine) and that it isn't single-vendor. Getting on WP:GOODCHARTS usually requires that someone can point at a stable archive of the chart. There are a lot of charts that are acceptable for use (Monitor Latino, for example) that require manual archiving: those aren't listed on WP:GOODCHARTS, but they don't show up on WP:BADCHARTS either. Other editors may add and remove charts for slightly different reasons, but I'm probably the most influential editor on these two guidelines. I'm sensitive to the kind of issues you are talking about, and do my best to make sure the guidelines are as liberal as they can be without violating WP:RS.—Kww(talk) 19:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Talk pages

I noticed some errors on the the talk pages of musicians that you have created, such as Max Boublil.

First, there is no need to put WikiProjectBannerShell when only two banners are present.

Second, there is no "priority" parameter in WikiProject Biography. It has been replaced with work groups, such as musician-work-group=yes & musician-priority=low. Others are a&e-work-group=yes, filmbio-work-group=yes, politician-work-group=yes, sports-work-group=yes, and a&e-work-group=yes. Bgwhite (talk) 07:46, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Regarding your deletion of the weekly countdowns on Sirius XM Hits 1. In this case, it's not the fact they were deleted that I have a problem with, it's your reason of "copyright infringement" that I fail to understand. First of all, the full weekly charts are published here at Sirius XM Hits 1's web page: http://www.siriusxm.com/hits1 , so obviously the website wants to make the countdowns accessible. Second of all, weekly charts are replicated on music forums all over the internet every week, such as here and here, if that was a copyright infringement don't you think those would have been shut down and warned by now? And finally I've requested semi-protection for the Sirius XM Hits 1 page twice I believe, both times the countdowns were there, and both times I was given semi-protection, if the countdowns were truly a copyright infringement don't you think the admin would have done something about it before semi-protecting the article? I won't undo your edit yet, but I am posting here because I need your reason explained further. MuSiClOvEr (talk) 15:59, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

The article Nicco has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability issues, unreliable references

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:59, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

The article Justin Herwick has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Dismas|(talk) 03:35, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Top 50 Charts are not acceptable SNEP charts

Hello. Many thanks for your contributions both in English Wikipedia and in French Wikipedia. I noticed that for French chart positions, you are using the chart published in Premiere called Top 50 (MCM charts). http://musique.premiere.fr/TOP-50 This chart is not an official chart, is not based on actual sales and often gives much higher positions to singles. You are doing so while keeping the SNEP titles which is very misleading and incorrect. What we consistently should use are the "official" SNEP charts that are based on actual physical sales and downloads. Three locations for this and all identical: SNEP/Disque en France (main source) This week's chart is here: http://www.disqueenfrance.com/fr/page-256084.xml .. Just a couple of days later, the same chart is reproduced at Charts in France at http://www.chartsinfrance.net/charts/singles.php and finally with a delay of about a week at most times at http://www.lescharts.com/ For English Wikipedia positions please abide only by these three and don't use the Top 50 or Airplay charts or whatever... For French Wikipedia, I know many charts are being used on various pages (though I think clearly SNEP charts should be uses), but in any case, if you use Premier Top 50 charts, please don't keep them as "SNEP" positions, but change the description to clearly say Top 50 not only in the reference but in the main text too. For French Zumba He Zumba Ha, I have already made the distinction, reinstating also the SNEP position which is 27 whereas Top 50 says #13. A very good example of how "inflated" and unreliable Premiere Top 50 figures are is in Khaled's classification. Premiere says he is #2, whereas actual Khaled classification according to SNEP this week is just #17 If you have changed other SNEP positions based on this Top 50 in English Wikipedia, please revert to original SNEP positions according to the three charts as indicated and from now on please don't replace them with Premiere Top 50 MCM positions.

I can't speak english but i inderstand, bye--Bobodu63 (talk) 17:57, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Kareem-salama-pic.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Kareem-salama-pic.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 05:15, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi! You made this page last year and it was flagged for not having "reliable" secondary sources, so I want to let you know that I'm working on that. Hello again. I have added a few sources to this page. Do you know what we have to do about the tags at the top? It has been so long since I've been active on wikipedia, so I don't even remember the process for resolving these issues. Do we have to notify someone about removing the tag about reliable sources? --Schmichaelira 20:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Schmichaelira (talkcontribs)

United Gay Network

I'll try, but honestly, there isn't a lot on Akers' film company outside of the primary source (the website). I was going to suggest to you that we take that whole section out, and furthermore, can we trim down the "careers" section? A lot of it is hard to reference using secondary sources, and it kind of reads like his official website bio and the program bios at the film festivals, which doesn't seem very encyclopedic. --Schmichaelira 14:40, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Bu

I used my sandbox to add to the UGN part of Michael Akers article and still had to do many edits before I got it right. I think I will work on it later, to add info about some of their other projects, like the Ali Forney Center documentaries that Akers worked on last year. But for now, what do you think? --Schmichaelira 16:45, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Wow! Thanks for taking the initiative on making an article for Morgan (film). I appreciate the wikifying you've done too. I think I mischaracterized Gone, But Not Forgotten (2003) so I'm planning to edit my own choice of words there. --Schmichaelira 20:58, 11 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Schmichaelira (talkcontribs)

A tag has been placed on Astro (rapper) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, image description page, image talk page, mediawiki page, mediawiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, or user talk page from the article space.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. DASHBot (talk) 00:11, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Deletion

Fucking shit, which you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion (see the discussion). benzband (talk) 22:39, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Hey, I saw you are a fan of Alex Papaconstantinou as you originally created his page. I recently added a more detailed selected production discography table to his page. Some more info needs to be filled in, especially some of his earlier work. I have a feeling he did more with Antique, but I am unable to find album liners online to confirm. If you know of any other songs he is credited on, please feel free to add them. Greekboy (talk) 17:38, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

I knew Alex Papaconstantinou's work through Sarbel and Cameron Cartio and of course I saw Anna Vissi live in Cyprus and she was awesome. Alex has written so many of Anna Vissi's songs and she is a great artist. He also had great songs for Elena Paparizou and I just adore Paparizou in everything she did with Antique and solo. I too feel that Papaconstantinou did far more with Antique than these two songs, but the problewm is that discogs.com album pages mention only the Antique song titles but not the full credits in their albums like Opa Opa, Die for You, Alli Mia Fora and Blue Love, whereaas for other artists, many carry names of the writers, composers and the producers, even the musicians playing. It is also strange that Alex doesn't even have a page in Greek Wikipedia which is a shame. That needs to be fixed by an editor who knows Greek. Here [1] is a great reference for his works that can be used as well. werldwayd (talk) 19:22, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the tips. I managed to get a hold of the album liners for Antique and filled in some information. There seems to be a bit of an anomaly with the Discogs source though. It lists him as a writer and producer for "Follow Me" and "Ligo Ligo", yet the album liners only list him as a writer. I guess we should go with the liners in this case. Also do you happen to know what he did with Stephen Simmonds? I can't seem to find any info, other than the fact that he worked on an album with him. Thanks again. Greekboy (talk) 04:17, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
This is the reference about his collaboration with Alex http://www.stephensimmonds.com/biography.php where he says in the biography: "To achieve this, Stephen [Simmonds] has worked with the young, up and coming Swedish producer Alex Papakonstantinou and with..." As this is not as essential a music relation as the others mentioned, I took the name out. Anyway it was a nice opportunity to get to know Stephen's beautiful music, but no need to mention him on the Alex page. Instead I have added Sarbel for whom he wrote many songs including Sarbel's Eurovision song Yassoo Maria, but also Mi Chica and others. werldwayd (talk) 06:17, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
I feel like a talk page stalker... Anyway I'm glad those scans of Antique's albums and singles I sent you worked Greekboy. I have scans for all of Vissi's albums and singles through maybe 2009 that I can send later. I might have the Paparizou ones as well. Werldwayd, if you are interested, I can send them to you also. Grk1011 (talk) 15:10, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Actually this search for credits started as we were speculating that Alex Papaconstantinou had written far more songs for Antique than the ones shown on his page. Diiscogs also mentioned very few songs which was strange. So your work is very much appreciated to be able to expand the list of credits for this talented artist songwriter, producer. His effect goes far beyond just Greek singers as is clear. I also wondered whatever happened to Nikos Panagiotidis of Antique. Did he continue or he just stopped. I just loved his part in the Antique songs so much... and if he did continue singing, then we need to have a page for him as well in Wikipedia. In that sense, I'd love to have the full credits as well You can use my e-mail which is werldwayd at yahoo dot com werldwayd (talk) 20:50, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

User needs help

User:LinnieKing left a message on my talk page. He wrote the article Mike "2of5" Martin, but did a direct copy from Mike Martin's official website. They may need some of your magic and left them your name.

I see you have been working on Gino Carlini‎. I flagged that and have it in my watchlist. FYI, you can't use IMDb has a references, only as an external link. IMDb's information can come from any editor. Bgwhite (talk) 21:39, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Werldwayd. I've come across your name because I understand you're the person to come to, to help tidy up articles on Wikipedia, relating to musicians etc...

Fozzy need your help! They're a prominent metal band, fronted by (WWE superstar) Chris Jericho and Rich Ward (of Stuck Mojo) and their article page is terribly dated. The other current members are Paul Di Leo, Billy Grey (who needs a page creating) and Frank Fontsere have literally nothing on their pages and need some further expansion.

Could you please assist in this matter?

Kind regards,

Russ Jericho (talk) 02:52, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Mike "2of5" Martin Page

Hi I was told by Bgwhite to contact you in regards to getting help on creating music pages for artists. I created the page on behalf of Mike but it required citations. It was marked for a Speedy Deletion but I was able to provide any proof needed as I had Mike's Permission to make the page and he said If he can do anything to help with citations etc then he would. I figured Instead of just keep creating the page and have it taking down for speedy deletion every time, I save efforts and talk to you as Bgwhite said you are the expert on music pages etc.

So if you can help me it would be a great help as I'm new to page creation on wikipedia and I need to know all I can to avoid all the "red tape" as such in the future.

If you could get back to me at your earliest convenience that would be great as i'd like to get the ball rolling as such and get the page back up and running properly this time.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jinian Wilde, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Britain, One World and I Love U (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Pure curiosity

I am writing to you because I find very sympathetic what you're doing. Just a simple curiosity: After using the "inverted" e letter and "alpha" on the title, shouldn't you be using these same letters also in the first word of the second reference I have up there (above)? (I am almost sure I am confused/mistaken but at least I have taken the opportunity to tell you I like the practice...) All the best. --E4024 (talk) 11:56, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1272 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.

New Page Patrolling

Hi Werldwayd . Thank you for patrolling new pages. I noticed that you recently patrolled Az (people) as OK for insertion without applying any maintenance tags, but I feel you may have missed something extremely important. Please consider returning to the article and applying any template(s) that might be necessary. Please read WP:NPP because the page is constantly updated as situations change, in particular this section. Thanks.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:53, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
