Bands

[edit]

You seem to be creating a number of articles which are either copyright violations from websites or are promotional. These are automatically candidates for deletion.

An article must be neutral and encyclopaedic in tone, and provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. Unreferenced claims of excellence and sentences beginning with "we" are clearly promotional. You cannot use copyright material.

It's not a matter of whether they are relevant, they must meet the criteria above. I agree with you that it may well be that none of them meet the notability guidelines, even if not spam or obvious copyright violations, but some looked as if they might, so I left them for now to give them a chance. There is nothing to stop these article being recreated, if they can be written as referenced npov - having said that, the Syracuse one has been deleted thrice already, and might be made a protected title if it's deleted again. Reading Buccaneers

[edit]

World Championships constitute seasons of note. Please do not keep removing them. --JimBurnell (talk) 13:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC) Your source is incorrect. The Buccaneers website is out of date. The Bucs are sponsored by the Behler-Hein Post, not the one listed on the page. I'm also re-adding the other information. Please do not re-edit. --JimBurnell 17:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Renegades-logo.GIF

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Renegades-logo.GIF. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Stars logo.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stars logo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fixed. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, if an article meets CFSD then use a db tag (this doesn't apply in this case). If an article meets WP:PROD then you may put a prod template on it (it's not compulsory), now prod is really just a way of not having to do an AfD (if you think it meets WP:DEL then it's a good idea to prod it first). In-fact, prod is a really just a shortcut, it's quicker and easier then AfD. If the prod is declined (i.e. the template is removed by a user), then AfD it. Hope all that makes sense and don't be afraid to ask more if it didn't. There's really nothing very wrong with what you did :). Cheers - Kingpin13 (talk) 20:31, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
