Phillip Hughes
[edit]Hello, I wanted to let you know that I reverted two edits you made to Phillip Hughes because they were unconstructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Randor1980 [t ~ c] 01:22, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Previewing
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Phillip Hughes, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Just a message to help you out! Happy Editing! 220 of Borg 02:04, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

Summaries
[edit]Hi there.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.--220 of Borg 02:20, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Overlinking
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to Phillip Hughes, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link (to Australia) several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Please don't forget an Edit Summary :-) 220 of Borg 02:55, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
- WPHJ2001, please don't re-add these links. Another editor removed them as is normal practice on WP when a link is repeated excessively. This prompted the above message from me, but you added the links again, which I have reverted. Also, re-adding "... of Philip Hughes" to "(retired in remembrance)" is unnecessary, its obviously his page, and has also been removed once before by a very experienced editor. If you want to make a case over edits like this, the relevant talk page (Talk:Phillip Hughes) is the place to start it. See also WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Signing posts
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at User talk:Randor1980#Please put a new picture on Phillip Hughes.27 page, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --220 of Borg 03:24, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Suggestion
[edit]WPHJ2001, your efforts to improve Wikipedia (WP) are appreciated. However, under the circumstances, I would personally suggest getting more experience, and becoming more familiar with WP policies and the wp:Manual of Style (MoS), before continuing editing such a currently highly 'visible' page as Phillip Hughes.
