Speedy deletion nomination of User:WLinda88/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:WLinda88/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Blocked
[edit]As you are clearly AJTK (talk · contribs) evading your block and continuing your copyright violations, I have blocked this account indefinitely. As has previously been brought up with you, you are violating WP:COPYRIGHT, WP:COI, and WP:PROMO. Now, you are additionally violating WP:SOCK and WP:BLOCK. --Yamla (talk) 12:50, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
unblocking
[edit]Dear editors!
I did a new registration, because we talked that the AJTK user login known by 2 people. I wrote that I can not convince someone about something what I dont understand because it wasnt my fault!
I would like to concentrate to editing the sport event article, not for this. I dont understand why penalties me!
Please, I am a new registrant, please treat me in this way!
- We've pointed you at WP:COPYRIGHT, WP:COI, WP:PROMO, [[WP:SOCK], and WP:BLOCK. Have you read those? We've asked you to do so several times. What specific questions do you have about those policies and how they apply to your case? --Yamla (talk) 12:58, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
unblocking
[edit]I've read all.
Copyright violation: I did’t violate any copyright. This article is not copied, just the translation of the Hungarian Dunai Regatta wiki site, which was made by the same group. COI: I don’t think the article was influenced by personal things or other sense. WP:Not : I don’t want to promote the sport event because it has a widely known event between foreign countries. Blocking: I read this some times. Sock: I create a new account which will be used only by me.
- How is that not a copyright violation? And why on earth would a direct translation be suitable for an encyclopedia? --Yamla (talk) 19:39, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Translation is not mirror translation, I read it again and i rewrote almost all of it, because of the writing style. The article is written by one of the event organizers. How can I prove it? Or what kind of copyrights do you mean? Can somebody/Yamla help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by WLinda88 (talk • contribs) 09:02, 31 January 2017
- The content you posted contained a very large amount which was so close to being a direct translation of the original as to make it unambiguously essentially a copy. Minor rephrasing of wording does not alter that. However, I don't think copyright is, in this case, the most important issue, as it could easily be dealt with, whereas the other problems with your editing which have been pointed out to you cannot so easily be dealt with.
- The content you posted was phrased in ways which clearly and unambiguously sought to promote the subject. There is absolutely no way any impartial reader could see it as neutral reporting. If you really honestly are unaware of that then you are so unable to see the nature of your own writing that you are unlikely ever to be able to contribute within Wikipedia's standards.
- You have repeatedly been directed to Wikipedia's guidelines on conflict of interest, and yet you are still able to tell us that the article was written by one of the event organisers as though you think that is a point in your defence. We do not want a piece written by one of the event organisers designed to persuade us that the event is really good: we want neutrally written articles, preferably written by people unconnected to the subjects they are writing about.
- If you continue to post messages which show clearly that you have completely failed to take in what has repeatedly been explained to you then it is likely that your talk page access will be removed to prevent you from wasting more of our time. I understand that the posted content was not good. I said I rewrote it, but you can’t see it because the blocking, I rewrote all sentences, it was clear what was the problem with it and I am waiting with it the unblocking. (But its strange that the hole article in Hungarian was okay in this style…) The article was originally written by one of the instructor of the event but I rewrote it, and I am not a part of the organizers team. I’ve already read all the rules of the wiki, I accept them. How can I support your work and my editor work also? I did what you expect of me, I’ve read all of the linked rules, I understand the problems and I resolve them in the content.
- First and foremost you need to work on being unblocked - please follow the instructions here -- Samtar talk · contribs 15:34, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- There are two reasons why the survival of the article in Hungarian Wikipedia is not a reliable indication that it is acceptable here. Firstly, there are very large numbers of articles on Wikipedia which do not satisfy our standards, and should not be here. Until someone notices such an article and nominates it for deletion, it will survive. Many unsuitable articles are spotted very quickly, but some of them slip through and persist for quite a long time. Secondly, each Wikipedia is autonomous, and has its own standards, and it may be that Hungarian Wikipedia does not have a similar policy on promotional editing as that of English Wikipedia: I don't know.
- What you say makes it clear that you believe you know what the problems were, and can put them right. However, experience over the years shows that very often a blocked editor who assures us that he or she understands the reasons for the block actually doesn't, so that if he or she is unblocked, he or she in fact returns to the same kind of editing as before. It will therefore be more helpful if you can tell us exactly what you think were the problems with your previous editing were, and in what ways future editing will be different from what you did before. Request reason:
I can tell you what was the main problems with my article/editing style. #Problem was with the Copyright violation and mirror translation ::My new article is not copied,I rewrote it, in order to misunderstand. It’s not a mirror translation, I rewrite it. #Problem was COI ::It means that I was influenced by personal things and the content was full of marketing type phrases. I rewrite the article and I also pay attention to this. #WP:Not ::It was not so neutral what neutral wording is required in Wikipedia and in some sentences it was a kind of promotion according the rules. # I read why I was blocking: because I repeated once more the same problems and I did’t understand at first what was the problem with the editing. #Sock: I create a new account which will be used by me.
Decline reason:
WP:COMPETENCE. See comment in Asking help section below. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:59, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- I assume you meant to request to be unblocked and have re-formatted your request accordingly. Huon (talk) 23:36, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "I create a new account which will be used by me"? Are you saying that you will sock if we unblock you? PhilKnight (talk) 23:45, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, please tell us about these other accounts that have been promoting the same material: AJTK (talk · contribs), Danube Regatta (talk · contribs), and Dunairegatta (talk · contribs) —DoRD (talk) 00:14, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- I'd read that as "This is an accout I have created for my personal use, unlike Danube Regatta, Dunairegatta and AJTK (that's the Antall József Knowledge Centre) which at the very least had username issues." Huon (talk) 01:01, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
{{help}} The problem with the AJTK account was the name (Knowledge Centre) because it’s an institution and 2 colleges used and edited the article. Someone indicated it to me but I was blocked and I can’t write to ask to rename it and I’m quite beginner editor. I don’t know what to take and I created the Wlinda88 account. Now I try to delete AJTK account but I recognize it is not allowed in Wikipedia. ☹ WLinda88 (talk) 09:24, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

- Hi WLinda88 – this looks way too complicated for most editors who would reply to that type of help request. You appear to need an administrator to help you through this. So I will convert this to an "admin help" template. Paine Ellsworth put'r there 12:55, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I am waiting and I don't know, what is the next step. I wrote down the reasons of my block story.— Preceding unsigned comment added by WLinda88 (talk • contribs) 09:06, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi. I am an admin, and an experienced user. I have read through your history, and I have read the deleted article you wrote on the Danube Regatta. I can see that you are well intentioned, and are keen to have information on that event available on Wikipedia. Unfortunately you have had a number of problems because you do not have much knowledge of using Wikipedia. In your attempts to get your article onto Wikipedia you have made things worse by breaking a few of our rules, so much so, that you have lost the trust of the community. Because of the situation you have created, and because you don't have a good command of English, nobody is going to unblock you. While anyone is allowed to edit Wikipedia, we do expect a certain level of competence - see Wikipedia:Competence is required for a fuller explanation of why competence is important. You have made too many mistakes, and have taken up the time of our unpaid volunteers in trying to sort out the problems you caused, for anyone to unblock you. Nobody has the time to watch over you and train you in how to use Wikipedia. What I will do though is help you to ask that someone write the article that you want. We have a page called Wikipedia:Requested articles where people can request that others write articles on notable topics. I think your article would be best placed in the sports section: Wikipedia:Requested articles/Sports. You are blocked so you can't post on that page, but if you look at the instructions there, and write out on this page your request in the manner that is required (with reliable sources, and an explanation of why the topic is notable), then I will post it on that page for you. I will keep this page watchlisted for a month. If after that time you have not responded, then I will take it off my watchlist, and anything you post here after that I won't see. OK? SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:33, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
solution
[edit]I think that could be a great solution for my problem. Thank you! Sources: http://www.dunairegatta.hu/ https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunai_Regatta http://www.ajtk.hu/programs/danube-regatta https://www.facebook.com/pg/dunairegatta/posts/?ref=page_internal - just hungarian https://www.ceu.edu/studentlife/danube-regatta
The history of the event is good in the original loaded document.
This year will be held the Danube Regatta for the 5th time. It has grown into an international sport event over the years, and I think that the importance of the festival is increased also. In hungarian wikipedia the festival page is existing yet. The article could be important because of the foreign students. The last reason is that (in english) does not exist an objective, historical description for the festival yet. WLinda88 (talk) 12:39, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- None of those meet the requirements for reliable sources, nor have you established why that event meets our requirements for notability. --Yamla (talk) 12:45, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I tried to search but no more webpage can be good. This is a sport festival and its not so easy to find any reliable and objective websites. http://www.presztizs.com/versenyek/tobb-tizezer-embert-varnak-dunai-regattara
WLinda88 (talk) 14:50, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- "This is a sport festival and its not so easy to find any reliable and objective websites." That indicates it is not notable enough for Wikipedia, especially the English Wikipedia. The only Wikipedia that has an article is the Hungarian one, as this is a local event, and even there they discussed deleting it, but couldn't reach a consensus. I note that the event is mentioned on the Hungarian Dragon Boat Federation website: [1], but that is not really enough, especially when we don't have an article on the Hungarian Dragon Boat Federation itself, just a link to their website on our Dragon boat article. I think the best thing is to wait until the event becomes more famous, and international media report it, so there are reliable sources. SilkTork ✔Tea time 12:47, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
And that solution is possible that one of the editor's write the article instead of me? WLinda88 (talk) 09:24, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia:Requested articles area of Wikipedia is for that purpose, which is why I suggested it. But we can't make a request there unless we are able to provide those editors with reliable sources material from where they can gather information to write an article, and also satisfy them that the subject meets our inclusion criteria (Wikipedia:Notability). From looking into the situation, Danube Regatta does not yet meet our inclusion criteria, so I am suggesting you wait until it does. When the event is reported in the international media, please get in touch with us again. SilkTork ✔Tea time 09:59, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
I am taking this page off my watchlist. If you wish to contact me, you'll have to type my name, like this: [[User:SilkTork]], which shows like this: User:SilkTork. SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:05, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
