Disambiguation link notification for July 30
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dendrelaphis cyanochloris, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Diurnal. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Snakes of India
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Snakes of India indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". - Hi, I am not really sure what should be the appropriate procedure to put the material in Wikipedia without violating the policies, but I believe uploading the article pdf to Wikimedia Commons with the "Fair Use" licensing can be done. I would suggest you to seek help from an administrator, I will also do the same. I had modified parts of the copy-pasted text taken from reptile-db which was present in the Draft:Oligodon Russelius and submitted for review, but recently the article has been entirely deleted for copyright violation. I am planning to start writing the article again from scratch. I have tagged Draft:Oligodon russelius with speedy-deletion because the article edit-history still has the copyrighted material. I will re-create it after it gets cleaned. Meanwhile I'll see what can be done. Thanks for reaching out. Vulpes-bengalensis (talk) 06:54, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @User:Wild Trait I have asked for help here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk#AfD_Article_has_copyrighted_text,_creator_claims_original_authors_have_granted_fair-use_permission.
- Can you please comment there? Vulpes-bengalensis (talk) 07:20, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- sir I am Expert in Snakes not Wikipedia expert please guide me to create Article Oligodon russelius on the base of new taxonomic study. Sir if we ask some one " What is Venom" every person simple answer me Venom is a toxin that gets into the body by being injected, usually by a bite or a sting. then how can I write this definition in my own words. Wild Trait (talk) 05:46, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
- @User:Wild trait It is totally fine to not be a 'Wikipedia expert', just knowing how to edit is enough. Other volunteers are there to take care of the rest. Also I'm glad to meet an expert herpetologist here, your help will be much appreciated. I will be writing the russelius article, you can fill in any info that you wish to include there. Also you may create the article if you want in any other language that you are comfortable in [Hindi or other] in the respective wiki. [Link to hindi wiki here: https://hi.m.wikipedia.org/]
You can ask me if you need any help at any point. Vulpes-bengalensis (talk) 17:00, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

@User:Diannaa This wasn't a copy-and-paste job. Also, the article is a "Work-in-Progress" and most of the text in the article is to be copyedited anyhow. In any case, thank you for not deleting the entire article. Vulpes-bengalensis (talk) 15:36, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

- >Oh, okay! You can follow the instructions at WP:RFD if you want it deleted.
- Okay, will do so.
- >...simply overwriting the redirect with the new content.
- I think it would be better to start the article in draft, and delete the blank article for the time being. Thanks. Vulpes-bengalensis (talk) 07:50, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
