- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

[edit]Hello, I'm Rdp060707. I noticed that in this edit to List of tallest buildings and structures in the Indian subcontinent, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ----Rdp060707|talk 08:55, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Sorry about that it was a mistake. Vijaydanny (talk) 09:06, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at List of tallest buildings in India. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges.
You and User:Indianspy007 are editwarring here. Please stop and discuss instead of constantly reverting each other. Jip Orlando (talk) 16:27, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of cities with the most skyscrapers. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 17:03, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
Economy of Maharashtra
[edit]Hi, I see you have a continued feud with another editor over the state GDP numbers. My sincere advice is for you to use your valuable time in building up the article rather than fret over one particular number. I am responsible for bulk of the content in the article but it would be good if others can help in improving the article. We could certain add more information on state revenue and spending, poverty rates in rural area and information on regions other than Western Maharashtra. Thanks.Jonathansammy (talk) 21:49, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
Don't you think it is only fair that the correct gdp numbers are provided in the article? I'm only Adhering to the source numbers. This is not the only account that is contributing to vandalizing this article I've got many sock puppet account blocked for reducing the gdp numbers. Vijaydanny (talk) 20:20, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes Mr. Dani, I understand that but the stories behind the GDP number are equally more important. After all, Wikipedia is not just tables of statistics. Any help in building up the article with good sources will be appreciated. Thanks.Jonathansammy (talk) 21:49, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
I will try my best to contribute further and help develop this article but if I spot these vandals disrupting this article i will definitely report them to an administrator. Its just bizarre Maharashtra's gdp was 26.61 trillion in 2017-18 and now its 32.24 trillion these vandals are reducing it to 26.61 trillion for 2021 its just preposterous. Vijaydanny (talk) 14:27, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Vijaydanny: Do not try to remove official Government of Maharashtra source. Or I shall report to admin on this issue. Thanks--115.98.54.28 (talk) 15:04, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
Suggestions for editing
[edit]Hi, recently you made some changes on the article "Economy of India". When you are changing something, especially media files (photos/flag/map) in information box, you should establish a consensus on talk page. Sometimes other editors do not agree. Happy editing! Dinesh | Talk 05:49, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion Vijaydanny (talk) 08:56, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Maharashtra and Economy of Maharashtra. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.--115.98.54.28 (talk) 16:18, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
I'm sorry I won't revert your edits anymore I didn't know that PRS India is not a reliable source sorry for the inconvenience. Vijaydanny (talk) 17:28, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

Metric units with converters
[edit]Hello.
You must always use metric units with converters in all Wikipedia articles when units are included, as it is required in Wikipedia. Do NOT only use imperial units in the Wikipedia articles. 96% of the world population use only metric units, including India. The vast majority do not use or know imperial units. In the future always add metric units with converters in Wikipedia articles, including in articles about India.
Yours sincerely, Multituberculata (talk) 16:57, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
