Recent changes
- When searching for edits by change tags, e.g. in page history or user contributions, there is now a dropdown list of possible tags. This was a request in the 2022 Community Wishlist Survey. [1]
- Mentors using the Growth Mentor dashboard will now see newcomers assigned to them who have made at least one edit, up to 200 edits. Previously, all newcomers assigned to the mentor were visible on the dashboard, even ones without any edit or ones who made hundred of edits. Mentors can still change these values using the filters on their dashboard. Also, the last choice of filters will now be saved. [2][3]
- The user group
oversight
was renamedsuppress
. This is for technical reasons. You may need to update any local references to the old name, e.g. gadgets, links to Special:Listusers, or uses of NUMBERINGROUP.
Problems
- The recent change to the HTML of tracking changes pages caused some problems for screenreaders. This is being fixed. [4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 1 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 2 March. It will be on all wikis from 3 March (calendar).
Future changes
- Working with templates will become easier. Several improvements are planned for March 9 on most wikis and on March 16 on English Wikipedia. The improvements include: Bracket matching, syntax highlighting colors, finding and inserting templates, and related visual editor features.
- If you are a template developer or an interface administrator, and you are intentionally overriding or using the default CSS styles of user feedback boxes (the classes:
successbox, messagebox, errorbox, warningbox
), please note that these classes and associated CSS will soon be removed from MediaWiki core. This is to prevent problems when the same class-names are also used on a wiki. Please let us know by commenting at phab:T300314 if you think you might be affected.

I fixed the page's grammar.
How is that "not constructive"? WinterFanboy🌹TALK 13:50, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- @WinterFanboy, you didn't fix any grammar on the One Direction article, you were changing some parts of the article such as changing are to is in the lead section, etc... which the former is correct instead of the latter and you didn't read the hidden note written on it which said "are is plural for a group, do not change". That's why I've reverted it since you've disrupted the article. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 04:38, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I am new editor here, I mostly seen vandalism on List of ABS-CBN Corporation channels and stations, what should we do to prevent this?120.29.78.233 (talk) 00:51, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- 120.29.78.233, you should request a page protection at WP:RPP which I'm already considering requesting it. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 04:36, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- @120.29.78.233, I've already requested the protection to the RPP and they are now protected for 1 year. Hopefully no more disruptive editing from that the IP hopper that adds TV stations from other networks into ABS-CBN-related articles. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 11:06, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- Wow 1 year is too long. lol 120.29.78.233 (talk) 13:24, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again, since you mentioned the RPP one, it really helped me to prevent the articles from vandalism. What a nice plan to prevent this! 120.29.78.233 (talk) 13:35, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- BTW, aside from protection, what we need to do in case theres vandalism? I saw an IP editor doing it, 112.203.224.224 120.29.78.233 (talk) 13:40, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @120.29.78.233, no worries, if you need help, you can ask me or any other experienced editors (such as CruzRamiss2002, WayKurat or any other editors) on their talkpage. Also the page protection only restricts the IPs from editing the article, though editors with a registered account and has autoconfirmed access can edit it as normal. Though that IP you've mentioned won't be able to edit that protected article. Happy editing! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 13:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Year on the main article for a Philippine Tv Series
Um why can’t we follow the American or Korean articles that don’t have a year before the country name. Because the year in an article is mostly placed in movie articles. 122.54.93.91 (talk) 14:18, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @122.54.93.91, I clearly understand what you have said. I'm really sorry for readding the years in the lead since I was really used to have them in the articles. I've also ask an fellow editor and thus said that you didn't not violate any Wikipedia standards. Thus per MOS:TVLEAD, there's no mention of the year in the lead, then its considered these years in the lead of the article to be removed. Once again apologies to you for all these mistakes I've made. Cheers! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 14:37, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2022).
- Following an RfC, consensus was found that if the rationale for a block depends on information that is not available to all administrators, that information should be sent to the Arbitration Committee, a checkuser or an oversighter for action (as applicable, per ArbCom's recent updated guidance) instead of the administrator making the block.
- Following an RfC, consensus has been found that, in the context of politics and science, the reliability of FoxNews.com is unclear and that additional considerations apply to its use.
- Community comment on the revised Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines is requested until 8 October.
- The Articles for creation helper script now automatically recognises administrator accounts which means your name does not need to be listed at WP:AFCP to help out. If you wish to help out at AFC, enable AFCH by navigating to Preferences → Gadgets and checking the "Yet Another AfC Helper Script" box.
- Remedy 8.1 of the Muhammad images case will be rescinded 1 November following a motion.
- A modification to the deletion RfC remedy in the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been made to reaffirm the independence of the RfC and allow the moderators to split the RfC in two.
- The second phase of the 2021-22 Discretionary Sanctions Review closes 3 October.
- An administrator's account was recently compromised. Administrators are encouraged to check that their passwords are secure, and reminded that ArbCom reserves the right to not restore adminship in cases of poor account security. You can also use two-factor authentication (2FA) to provide an extra level of security.
- Self-nominations for the electoral commission for the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections open 2 October and close 8 October.
- You are invited to comment on candidates in the 2022 CUOS appointments process.
- An RfC is open to discuss whether to make Vector 2022 the default skin on desktop.
- Tech tip: You can do a fuzzy search of all deleted page titles at Special:Undelete.

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:30, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
