IP 24.55.131.3 (declined block of IP)

Hello, Vianello. Every single edit in this IP's history has been vandalism. Doesn't that mean some type of action beyond reverting should be taken?Hoops gza (talk) 01:35, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Not if the IP isn't currently active in vandalizing. Intermittent, on-and-off vandalism from public IPs, schools and the like is considered par for the course. If they do something once in a day and knock it off, blocking them until the next day wouldn't have much effect anyway. Generally IPs receive blocks only if they receive a final warning and breach it on the same day, as a rough measure for what counts as active vandalism, though if they're really hitting it hard and heavy then sometimes a block is levvied anyway. In this case, it was literally a week since the last incident of vandalism, and more than a week for the incident prior to that one. The routine 31-hour "first offense" block won't accomplish anything with that kind of pattern. Please see the third point on WP:AIV's green notice. If they do get particularly egregious, then a long-term block is likely should that happen. - Vianello (Talk) 01:41, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for checking in. However, page protection is meant to protect pages from direct vandalism/edit warring (please see WP:Vandalism and WP:Edit warring), not to shield them from the deletion process. Whether it is deleted depends on the outcome of the discussion on the article's WP:AfD page. I will look it over, and if I have anything to add, I will put my opinion on the AfD page. I just joined Wikipedia to edit the Zuan Xin article down to what is fully substantiated and told my friends that Wikipedia is no place for them. Please message me if the edit is okay or what else you would recommend. Like so many other people here in Las Vegas, I have been lucky to learn of the teachings of Zuan Xin, but I agree with the technical objections of you and your fellow Wikipedia editors.
