Max Jones Deletion

Hi Vianello- You deleted the page I created some time ago for journalist Max Jones. There were plenty of independant sources on there from news agencies and otherwise. I also cannot find an Articles for Deletion discussion. May I ask why you deleted it after it had been up for 2+ years? Also- what must I do to get it back up? --SayItRight1 (talk) 01:01, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Asking's absolutely fine. First of all, I'd like to confirm, is the article Max Jones about this same person? If so, it looks like it's still up, or was created separately. If not, could you provide me the former location of the article you're referring to? I'd be more than glad to give you my input, but as it's been a little while I'd need to look at it again to jog my memory. One thing I can tell you straight away is that articles are not given any sort of protection based on their time on Wikipedia. Plenty slip through the cracks and are noted and deleted much later. But that doesn't really answer your questions in full. I'll keep trying to find it on my own so I can give you a more hard-and-fast response, but my guess would be it was lack of indication the article's subject met criteria provided at WP:BIO for defining an individual person in general as meeting WP:Notability criteria. Again, I'll need to look at it again to say for sure. Regarding re-institution: That's easy. I can create a "userfied" version of the article and re-post it to a subpage of your user page, where you can address any lingering concerns (assuming I don't discover it was deleted in error or something) and re-post it when it's ready for prime time. Thanks for dropping me a line! - Vianello (Talk) 01:16, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

There were two listings for Max Jones- the one I am talking about was Max Jones (journalist). You cited the deletion as 'No explanation of the subject's significance' yet there were numerous mentions of his significance (started Felice News, Seoul Sisters Documentary, helped to secure Euna Lee and Laura Ling's release from North Korea, TV host, etc.) There were also numerous sources cited, in addition to a list of some articles on him, that confirm this information. I think it was incorrectly deleted. Additionally, the current Max Jones page (the musician, not journalist) is incorrectly titled. I just looked through some of the sources and his name was Ronald Maxwell Jones, which is also the name included on his publications. Max was his family nickname, not a public one. How can we fix that? Sorry, I'm new to Wikipedia! Thanks for your help... --SayItRight1 (talk) 15:40, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Any update on this? --SayItRight1 (talk) 20:09, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

I posted my response on your userpage and presented the options as I see them there, though they were cleared when you blanked the page. Is there something I can clarify? - Vianello (Talk) 00:32, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Sorry. I did not see that it was on there when I deleted. Is there a way that you could re-post it, then allow me a few days to edit it instead of sending it to my username? Thanks. --SayItRight1 (talk) 01:16, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

I think this should be deleted too. The related non-articles Seoul Sisters, Felice News and Lillian Wu have all been deleted too. Barney the barney barney (talk) 21:09, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello Vianello,
Noted your comment to Momsagainstterrorists (talk · contribs) re RNC 8. They have also edited RNC Welcoming Committee, again using the term 'terrorist'. The large edit here deletes a whole section of sourced content. I am not across this, but you seem to know about it. I AGF, but think a revert might be in order, but don't want to be 'bitey.' Could you take a look at these edits? Regards, 220 of Borg 03:48, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
