Imdb

Hello: I notice that you're adding a lot of references, which in principle is good, but that a lot of these are to Imdb. Imdb is regarded as "generally unreliable", so those edits of yours are likely to be reverted. In general, if you either have doubts about the worth of a reference you're thinking of adding, or are thinking of making considerable use of a particular website, it's wise to check "Perennial sources" first. -- Hoary (talk) 22:55, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

I apologize if I violated any rules I was assuming that IMDB would be accurate as it appeared as though that was where the list roles that Robin Williams acted came from. It was not my intention to add any information that could not be verified and I will refrain from doing so in the future. I just checked the reliable source page and I have a question. What does it mean when it says that "The use of IMDb as an external link is generally considered appropriate"

Repo Man: great film, defective article. The article cites Imdb several times in order to reference this or that assertion. (These references appear within "<ref>" and "</ref>".) It should not do so. But at the end there's a list of "External links", one of which is "{{IMDb title|0087995}}". This link to Imdb is considered appropriate. (Why only "generally considered appropriate"? Offhand, I don't know. I could take a look and find out ... but sorry, I'm not going to, as there are only a finite number of hours in my day.) I hope this answers your very reasonable question.
