Adopt don’t shop
[edit]The meaning of « Adopt don’t shop » is to adopt pets instead of buying them. This movement helps commence the stop of functioning Puppy Mills, and helping strays that live on the streets. Adopting pets can help you and your pet construct a better, stronger, and healthier relationship with your pet. Here are a few reasons to adopt. - Adopting a pet saves money - Adopting a pet can save it’s life - An adopted pet is less likely to have health problems - Adopting pets can help stop Puppy Mills — Adopted pets makes them easier to train
Saving Money: adopting a pet saves money because usually when you buy a pet, the breeders will sell them for as much of money as possible. They may not have taken care of your pet in it’s early life, which can lead to serious health issues in the future.
Saving Your Pet: Adopting pets can save their lives. It’s true. Think of your pet back home. If it’s adopted it may have been
a stray or have been living on the streets. Many cats
and dogs are abandoned by their mothers in their early lives.
Because of this, they are forced to hunt and care for themselves. Lots of pets have died because of living on the streets. Businesses like the SPCA save strays and take them in to care for them.
Health Problems: Buying a pet form a breeder can lead to extremely serious
problems for your pet, mainly dogs, which can lead to putting
them down later in their lives. Many pets are euthanized when They are born because no one adopts them. Euthanizing is when you give a pet a shot to put them to sleep forever. This happens to many new born pets in the U.S and in Canada.
Puppy Mills: Puppy Mills are unofficial companies that continuously breed dogs and sell the, for as much money as people are willing to buy. Ridiculous
prices make these breeders rich, and their puppies aren’t even in good
conditions. However, there are some good breeders out there who know how to take care of their pets. Even so, adopting is still leading to a better future for you and your pet.
Training: Dr. Jeff Werber says that adopting makes pets easier to train, possibly because they are usually older than puppies, and have
been kept in a clam, safe, and collected environment for most of their lives. Puppies are lively and energetic, which makes them harder to train. Breeders rarely have older dogs, and adoption center or organizations
have older pets to train.
In conclusion, adopting is definitely the path you want for you and your pet. Help save lives, save your money, and support for adoption companies and services. Adopt your new pet now!
