Speedy deletion nomination of Small Drum Corps Association
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Small Drum Corps Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 331dot (talk) 21:24, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
SDCA
[edit]Some of the corps you have entered in the category of SDCA members are not SCDA members, and some, I am fairly certain, have never been SDCA members, although the SDCA website lists them as such... If you are going to do an article for Wikipedia, you should be accurate and report the subject from a neutral perspective... As currently written, your article on Small Drum Corps Association probably still qualifies for speedy deletion... I not only will not tag it for deletion, I have linked the Racine Scouts article to it, since theirs mentions that they did perform in SDCA. GWFrog (talk) 15:46, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! The corps I added were ones that are listed in photos or videos listed from their website. On their 2013 photo page http://thesdca.org/1_SDCA_2013/Master_Web_Pages/Photos_2013.html , the top page is White Sabers from NY, and the bottom image is Blue Saints Drum & Bugle Corps. I listed Pioneer as they performed at the same SDCA show that Racine Scouts did back in 2013 but don't have the link to the article on it. Thanks for linking the Racine Scouts to the page. I'm working to provide references to link to the corps listed as I'm trying to create a list of the groups involved so there is a record of performers since the circuit seems to not keep good member lists. Thanks for your assistance.

Being Bold
[edit]Thumbs Up Award | |
You have done it! You’ve taken a BOLD step in getting information out there, accessible to anyone connected to the internet. Not everyone can do this, but YOU did. The world is a better place because you took the time to create an article. You’ve taken a risk, getting your information available to the world. Good editing, and may the thumb be with you. bpage (talk) 02:19, 26 August 2014 (UTC) |
File permission problem with File:SDCA Mon Valley Express 2013.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:SDCA Mon Valley Express 2013.jpg, which you've attributed to Facebook. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 03:59, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

The article Columbus Saints Drum and Bugle Corps has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
One of many non-notable drum and bugle corps, no evidence of success in national competition. SoundSport is local, MACBDA is regional.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Acroterion (talk) 00:56, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Will update, as SoundSport is an international division of Drum Corps International, the corps competes in Drum Corps Associates, and withdrew from regional competition in MACBDA a few years ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.97.200.101 (talk) 00:59, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
