Re: Native script names in actor infoboxes
I recall hearing it from other editors, but I cannot find an actual policy. Looking at featured articles Preity Zinta and Satyajit Ray, and good articles Genelia D'Souza, and previously Riya Sen, its not there. Manmohan Singh is not a GA. I got these from Indian_cinema_task_force, which has a list of the best Indian articles. Based on this, I would leave it out. BollyJeff || talk 15:35, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:16, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Info on S. Ramanan
Hello Lovy, I'm Photoniqu, and have interests in Indian mathematicians as a subject in Wikipedia. Do you happen to know the genealogy of S. Ramanan, and in particular could you help me research the academic history his Annamalai Ramanathan ? --A 23:03, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
My dear Lovy! I am watching for the last few months that you are not cooperating me. It is my humble request to you to tell me frankly if you do not want me to remain on wikipedia. I assure you, I will not edit any article in future. It hurts me a lot if my own Indians are not supporting me then what is the use of spending my valuable time for contributing this organisation? Hope you will not mind. With all regards I remain yours faithfully,Krantmlverma (talk) 13:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Arun Nehru
I have reverted your addition of an Indic script to the Arun Nehru article. As someone else has pointed out above, these are no longer deemed to be acceptable. You can either wade through the decision here and here, or simply assume good faith. - Sitush (talk) 00:02, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I came across that decision after I'd made the edit. Even though I don't agree with the idea but I guess I've no choice but to go with it. -- Lovy Singhal (talk) 08:26, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- It wasn't well publicised, I am afraid. - Sitush (talk) 08:33, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Bhitargaon
Hi Lovy !!
How are you? Bhitargaon Temple, Kanpur is one of the oldest remaining hindu shrine in India. There is a page on Bhitargaon but nothing on the temple separately. Can we do something about this ? Thought you might be interested. Cheers ! AkshaySeth20 (talk) 11:51, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Vikrant Chaturvedi
Hey, Please don't remove the Hindi letters off Vikrant Chaturvedi, because he's a Hindi-speaking actor.
Thank you.
BlueMario1016 (talk) 15:44, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Please see this and this, or as User:Sitush has said above "simply assume good faith." I'm reverting your edit as of now. Regards, Lovy Singhal (talk) 08:50, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
I have added the Hindi letters back on, so please don't remove it, since he speaks Hindi.
Thank you.

Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood)'s Hindi voice-dubbing actor?
Do you know who has dubbed over Elijah Wood's role as Frodo Baggins in the Hindi dub of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy? I rumored myself that Vivek Oberoi may have been the Hindi dubbing actor, but I know that's not him and I know Nachiket Dighe is not the voice actor either, since he only dubbed Elijah Wood's role as Leo in the 2007 Hindi-dubbed DVD release of Deep Impact (film).
I've been struggling and asking some other people that have Wikipedia accounts who are involved in the Indian dubbing industry to find the actor and they said that they would, but they never said anything back to me.
If you find the Hindi voice-dubbing artist for Elijah Wood, Can you also find his birth place and born date? If you do, please let me know. Thank you.
My dear Lovy! I think you have not seen my sincere advice written to you earlier here. Moreover I observe that either you are prejudice to me or doing a poisonous harm to the wikipedia organisation otherwise I find no other reason in reverting my edits on the above article. It will be better if you speak frankly what do you want from me. Hope you will understand what I mean to say. Yours semper fidelis, Krantmlverma (talk) 11:48, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Dr.'Krant'M.L.Verma (talk•Email)
I am Vishnu Konoorayar. Thanks Lovy for your comments on my edits on 'Chief Justices of India.'. I had visited the policy pages of wikipedia and other relevant pages. Could you please tell me where I went wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vishnukonoordelhi (talk • contribs) 06:58, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Vishnu, I was referring to your addition of future Chief Justices. As per WP:CRYSTAL, "Wikipedia is not a crystal ball." Since the priority list is nowhere officially declared, your edits best amount to original research which is again not allowed. Do let me know if you have any more questions/doubts. I shall try to answer them to the best of my limit. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia! Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 07:58, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- My dear Lovy! Please do not show me the slap on my user talk page; at least behave properly this is my humble request to you. For the article Ram Prasad Bismil, I had given some exeternal links of English in good faith so as to help Sitush because he does not understand Hindi and requested him also to improve this article on its talk page which you can very well see there. Even then if you reverted them, no problem. I have many other books for the reliable references on this topic. But I doubt if I edit this article, you may discrupt me again. This is the only problem with me. Thanks Krantmlverma (talk) 04:38, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Message regarding your decision of deleting page
Greetings.
I request that instead of nominating this page (http://hi.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%81_%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%88%E0%A4%82_%E0%A4%98%E0%A4%B0_%E0%A4%98%E0%A4%B0_%E0%A4%96%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%B2%E0%A5%80)for a speedy deletion, Instead to make some changes on it for the better, This is a kind request from me.
Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Applez25 (talk • contribs) 18:13, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- You are mistaken. I've not deleted the page or even nominated it for deletion. I've moved it to the grammatically correct title यहाँ मैं घर घर खेली in whose page history the mention of your valuable contributions are preserved. I've only asked for the old incorrect title to be deleted which is just a redirect now. Please continue to construcively contribute to the project. Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 18:35, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
P.S.: I'd appreciate if future communications regarding hi.wiki are done at my hi.wiki talk page.
- Thank you very much for informing me about this mistake
-greatest apologies in future I shall remember this — Preceding unsigned comment added by Applez25 (talk • contribs) 12:27, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
AGREED ALL CHANGES EXCEPT ONE
Dear Sir All changes suggested by you are accepted, irrespective of the reason, except one the deletion of name of Kidzone, link deletion is accepted. The edition was non intentional thus no problem in deletion. It was just a learning process made up, unaware of the policies.

Your recent revert of vandalism
Hi Lovysinghal! Thanks for your anti-vandalistic revert on the article Easter Bunny where new editor User:Avagantamos vandalized it. Unfortunately, you did not warn the editor on their talk page, which is standard operating procedure that allows us to judge their further efforts, should they be additional vandalism. I have gone ahead and issued them a warning. Please make a note on the talk pages of suspected or undeniable vandals that their edit was reverted by you, and why. It really helps down the road if they continue in their ways, and allows for their blocking when they persist. Thanks, and if you want to reply, I will watch this page. Thanks again for helping to protect the encylopedia, Jusdafax 17:17, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Please dont nominate my article
Dear Lovy
Please dont delete the YRC Group Inc. article as it is very important for the students to know about. They can learn about the company softwares and all

Other uses template
I notice you have been adding this to a number of pages, but unnecessarily so. That hatnote is only needed when the title is ambiguous. So if there were an article "Character" then it would need such a link. Other pages such as Chinese character do not have ambiguous titles so do not need such a link. This is discussed in more detail at WP:NAMB, part of WP:Hatnote which covers all aspects of disambiguation.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 15:52, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have now removed them, as I could see none where they were appropriate.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 18:19, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

- I've absolutely no idea what it is exactly that you are talking about! I did indeed revert one of your edits on the page History of Mumbai as it was not required to be mentioned there. Other than that, your threatening tone won't do much help to your cause here on en.wiki. I'm going to report it. All in good faith. Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 09:11, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
Edit on asaram Bapu
now before removing information about his ashrams, you must discuss on talk page. Why are you so much against Indian culture? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ankush98 (talk • contribs) 05:24, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- The content that you added was unsourced and did not adhere to WP:NPOV. I'm not against Indian culture or for that matter, any other culture. I'm against vandalism. Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 07:16, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The reversion looks good, try to collect some WP:RS! --Tito Dutta (talk) 07:30, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'm assuming you meant the revert made by me :-P If so, thanks for the appreciation. Regards, Lovy Singhal (talk) 09:09, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
Talking about neutral point of view, how can talking about his works be partial? If you have written about controversies, then you should also talk about that.Ankush98 (talk) 06:24, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- No, talking about his works (whether good or bad) cannot be partial as long as you do not eulogize or ridicule him, provide reliable, third-party and sources with a reputation for neutrality where your claims can be verified. Hope this helps your cause! Edit warring will not. Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 05:55, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Arun Gawli
Categories are based on material in the article, so the category is appropriate because the article says that he's an Indian and a Hindu. If you don't think we should have the category, please remove the text saying that he's a Hindu. Nyttend (talk) 18:50, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi! I've removed both the material from the article as well as the category now after briefly trying to find any source on the internet. Although, I do believe that the erased statements are true. Lovy Singhal (talk) 05:55, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Barnstar
The Editor's Barnstar | ||
Dear Lovysinghal, I award you The Editor's Barnstar for your great work at Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna! Thank you for your edits there and for your edits to WP:India related articles in general! With regards, AnupamTalk 17:54, 30 January 2013 (UTC) |
Dear Anupam,
- Thanks for your generosity :-) But, as I explained in the edit summary, I borrowed the idea from User:Hunnjazal's edits on hi.wiki. Nevertheless, this is my first barnstar on en.wiki and am I happy? ;-) All said and done, it is indeed ironical that as I write this reply, the concerned edits have been reverted! Cheers, Lovy Singhal (talk) 20:54, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- You're welcome! Yes, I've worked with User:Hunnjazal before, he's a great editor! I am glad that I was able to make you happy with your barnstar! And yes, unfortunately, an IP Address reverted those edits. Perhaps you could join the discussion on the talk page since you formatted the lyrics. Rab Raakha, AnupamTalk 22:09, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- Anupam, the format of the lyrics was not the issue, as per the talk page discussion. You have been under editing restrictions for canvassing before now: please be careful.--2.219.218.79 (talk) 09:16, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- IP 2.219.218.79, this is not canvassing. User:Lovysinghal was the one who formatted the lyrics in the article and was reverted by you. He himself saw this; I did not inform him of it. Moreover, it is strange that you would warn me when you are using an IP Address rather than your actual Wikipedia account (see WP:SOCK). I hope this helps, AnupamTalk 23:23, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Sigh, WP:SOCK would appear to be yet another policy that you need to re-read before citing. However, if you think that I am socking then please file a report at WP:SPI. The result will be a positive match, but not a disruptive match.--2.219.218.79 (talk) 00:47, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I think you added the date of death to Daya-Nand_Verma, do you have one or more (sound) references /obituary ? — MFH:Talk 05:28, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the information. But, I am a little confused. The material you referred to contains details about P.C. Jain as well as A.S. Gupta! Kindly expand the article on P.C. Jain with whatever material you have about him. Krishnachandranvn (talk) 12:53, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
