"The main form of Buddhism..."
[edit]Hi VanemTao,
I don't understand why you've left me this message...? (Also, don't forget to sign any messages you leave by placing four tildes ("~~~~") after them; this makes it much easier for people to respond!) Best wishes, David Kernow (talk) 11:48, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- ...I noticed that someone has wrote in article about Russian budhism that major school in Russia is a Kagypa , but as I mentined before thats totally wrong and thats why I took a touch -as I saw youre nick. there in a history among others . I understood that u fuction hier as a admin. so its logical to turn for help from u...
- Actually, you don't need an admin, VanemTao – try leaving your message about Karma Kagyu on Buddhism in Russia's talk page and see if anyone responds; if no-one does, you could try editing the article so that it refers to Karma Kagyu in a different way – don't worry about imperfect English! You could also leave your message here or maybe here; unfortunately I haven't learned much about Buddhism... If you're unsure about anything, I'll try to help – good luck! Yours, David (talk) 17:17, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I see that you are doing a lot of expansion work on the Buddhism in Russia page and adding lots of content. That's great... but can you add references to your sources as well? Dekimasu 07:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Article in need of cleanup - please assist if you can
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you asked about the cleanup tag. I don't think you should be alarmed. However, it is true that the article does not follow the typical wikipedia style guidelines for biographical articles, and you'd do well to follow those. In addition, there is an expectation these days that articles not only have a references section, but provide citations in-line. linas 05:44, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Txnxx ! u are the first one to notice my call for help last in days 2 or 3 days..But how to rise the subject on common discussion level hier, I cant work it out ,And I dont know and cant imagine whats wrong with this piece ? .I need to go on with my story but before I need to know exactly in what direction I have to move .--VanemTao 06:16, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Take a look at Portal:Biography. It tells us that Jorge Luis Borges is a featured article. Try to copy the style of that article more closely. The biggest problem I saw was that you used too many wikilinks -- you only need to link a word the first time you use it, not every time. Also, one does not need to link to dictionary words that one might expect the average reader to know already. Best would be to review the contents of Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography and then ask on the talk page there for help. Your punctuation is atrocious; that might make people nervous. linas 06:32, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Thnxx. At least from now I know from where to start, until to this very moment I was like a sitting duck hier waiting for someone to pass by , Anyway I.ll do so as u said.
U mean the story will be still on page ,no need for panic,In mu case I felt as it was like some sort of silent repression.Thnxx for youre support and advice.--VanemTao 06:52, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Agvan Dorjiev
[edit]I started with article about Agvan Dorjiev who is part of Russian buddhist history and then I got the note that all what I have started , will be deleted.I asked couple of times , whats wrong with my story and there were no answer,I was waiting all the time someone to explain but no result.Today appeared this note about delete,SO maybe u could give some advice whats wrong as I noticed youre nick there on page history .Is it common procedure just simply to delete whats placed hier,Maybe u could enligthen me about this little bit as u were last person to visit this page.Thnxx.--VanemTao 03:22, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi VanemTao, you would need to contact the editor who deleted the contents for the reason that they did so. They should have said why either in the edit summary of their edit, or on your tlak page, or on the talk page of the article. If they did not so, contact them directly and ask the for explanation - PocklingtonDan 08:21, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Thnxx .U mean I have rihgts too hier?,,, or Did,nt know that.I was in to my work when appeared this notice,It almost paralyzed me , so I was waiting for some sort response , but ofcourse I was wrong ,It means I have even some sort of human rights hier and I,m allowed to defend myself against barbaric attacks Its really good to know.About my article in talk noone didnt pay any attention so for me it seemed almost like a dead end but now its much more better.Thnxx for helping hand .I,ll start to fight for my own rights and literal freedom from now.--VanemTao 09:35, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Copyright violation in Karl Tõnisson
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Karl Tõnisson, by WWGB (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Karl Tõnisson is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Karl Tõnisson, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 12:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I deleted the article because of a copyright violation. Even though it wasn't a 100 percent copyvio, much of the text was a copy & paste job from [10]. Garion96 (talk) 20:29, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Vladimir Montlevich
[edit]A tag has been placed on Vladimir Montlevich requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. R'n'B (call me Russ) 20:35, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Karl-Tönisson-postkaart.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Karl-Tönisson-postkaart.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:51, 27 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Quibik (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Possibly unfree File:Lustig Tönisson Hiinas.jpg
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Lustig Tönisson Hiinas.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Quibik (talk) 20:02, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Palgyi Dorje of Lhalung, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://rywiki.tsadra.org/index.php/Palgyi_Dorje_of_Lhalung. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:03, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Karl Tõnisson
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Karl Tõnisson, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. - If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Karl Tõnisson and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name, Karl Tõnisson, in your email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0, or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Karl Tõnisson with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Karl Tõnisson. File permission problem with File:Mandzushri-mandala-ringi-se.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mandzushri-mandala-ringi-se.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Clearing the copyright status on your contributions
[edit]Hello,
This is just to make sure you caught my follow-up to your discussion with Moonriddengirl that you started here and to put things in plain language.
As you will have been made aware of by now, when an author of material that has appeared elsewhere reposts that content on Wikipedia, we verify the identity of the uploader. Unless this happens, the material is presumed to be placed here in violation of copyright.
As we do not verify user identities upon account creation, we have to rely on an external verification process. There's basically two ways to go about that:
- The author is able to modify the website where the source material has appeared so that it displays, at least, a notice stating that the content has been licensed under the terms of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license. Note that notices like "all rights reserved" are not compatible with a CC-BY-SA license (the correct term would be "some rights reserved"), and if this remains present on the source webpage, it trumps the CC-BY-SA release (and is thus not useable)
- If this is not possible, a mail must be sent by the author through an e-mail address we can trace back to the source website, at permissions-enwikipedia.org, it must have at the minimum the elements in the template at WP:CONSENT, and it must list explicitly all pages or domains from which material is being licensed to Wikipedia. You can read more about this process at WP:DCM.
While I understand that this may appear cumbersome and certainly disheartening, Wikipedia applies a strict precautionary principle on copyright matters and cannot keep unlicensed material on display once we are made aware of it. That means that if you are unwilling or unable to license the material, it will need to be rewritten or deleted.
Could you please indicate until January 21st whether you are willing and able to license all the content with licensing issues tagged with a green checkmark at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/VanemTao#Contribution survey (complete)? Otherwise, the material will have to be handled as an ordinary copyright violation.
Thank you for your understanding. MLauba (talk) 12:48, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Chinese Buddhist Encyclopedia
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Chinese Buddhist Encyclopedia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 17:12, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
