Disambiguation link notification for April 23
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of place names of German origin in the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Palatinate. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

LR.127 (talk) 03:31, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Drafts
[edit]Just for future reference, drafts aren't allowed to be filed in mainspace categories, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. So please don't add categories to a draft, as you did at Draft:Jordan Miller (defensive lineman, born 2000) — and if you sandbox a page that was in mainspace, as you did at Draft:Justin Dedich, then you have to either remove its categories or disable them by wrapping them in the {{draft categories}} template, and cannot just leave the categories on the page as they were. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 19:00, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Gotcha, I'll keep that in mind. VCcortex (talk) 22:27, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
Also for future reference, "categories were removed from the page while it was in draft and then I moved the page to articlespace later" is not a situation in which you're entitled to revert the categories back onto the page. "Revert" is only for "this edit was an outright error that should never have been made at all", and not for any edit that wasn't an error — because if you revert the categories back onto the page, then I get slapped across the face with a notification that my edit was reverted, which I do not have any responsibility to just put up with if I wasn't wrong. Reversion is only for "this edit should never have happened in the first place", and not for anything else — if the categories are removed from the page while it's in draft, and then you move the page into articlespace later, then you must readd the categories from scratch as a new edit, and are not free to "revert" any prior edit that was not an error at the time it was done. - Ok, noted. Apologies for that. VCcortex (talk) 20:17, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
