Hi Uricarrillo94! How are you? I see that ProBullStats.com is restricting use of the Outs page now. Do you know anything about this? It will be a lot of articles to change in Wikipedia if this is permanent. Who can afford to pay for its use on many articles? I would think the free advertisement would be good? So, anyway, I am going to get back to working on Ty Murray's article, but I need to know if I have to change some things because of ProBullStats. Also, I wrote an article these last three days for Woopaa. I haven't moved it to mainstream yet. Could you take a look at it if want? It should be a special article. I have done some catchup and want to work on creating and updating articles now (emphasis on creating). I have some draft articles I want to finish. I'm not going to let anything stop me this time. No deadline for editing Woopaa btw. Like Ty Murray it will be a continuing project just like any other Wikipedia article. Talk later! Oh, here's the link: User:Dawnleelynn/Woopaa. Lots of good sources for that one. Had trouble finding outside sources; it's mostly PBR sources. Thanks for listening! Oh, also btw, would you like me to make an archive page for your talk page, like myself and others have? Dawn

Hello, Dawn. I actually did not know about ProBullStats.com restricting the Outs page until you let me know about it. I wonder what their motivation is behind such move. It does say the restriction is “currently” limited, so hopefully it’ll revert back to full use. I say we should wait and see if anything needs changing in regards to Ty Murray’s article because of the ProBullStats.com situation. Thanks for letting me know about the Woopaa article. I’ll be sure to take a look at it and fix something if necessary. I would greatly appreciate it if you could make me an archive talk page. Thank you very much. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 01:23, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, thanks for the edits and the message. I'm on a roll with the user drafts that have been waiting so long. You can feel free to also edit these too. Others I recently added to mainspace Ty Erickson, Grated Coconut (horse), Three Bars (bucking horse), and Spotted Demon (bull). You actually edited the bull article before. I am also working on a draft of Jose Vito Leme which I hope others will want to add to because it's so popular. There are tons of PBR articles about him, and I don't want to source them all, lol. I am also planning to finish some other drafts soon, like Pearl Harbor, Smooth Operator, Air Time, Asteroid, etc. And do new ones. Right now I'm finishing a draft I had for Shining Spark because he just died December 27 and there's more material now making it worth doing. You probably won't be familiar with that one; he was a reining cow horse. I want to add new articles too, other bulls and rodeo horses, some people. I am not planning on doing the DYK (did you know) that goes on the main page for every article. That could get old fast. But I want to do it with Woopaa. It has to be submitted within 7 days of being moved to mainspace so I'm want to be sure it's really ready first. I'll give you a heads up when there's a new article or draft, if you like. Also, I agree with you on waiting on Ty Murray and ProBullStats. Thanks! dawnleelynn(talk) 02:01, 8 April 2022 (UTC) p.s. I forgot to mention I've noticed many of the newspapers I use going behind a paywall now. It's a real issue. When I went to check links on Erickson, almost half of his links were pay. Oh, and I noticed a PayPal logo on ProBullStats home page. Thoughts? dawnleelynn(talk) 03:05, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know, Dawn. I’ll be sure to do some edits to the articles if necessary. It’s a shame that many of the newspapers you use for citations now require payment to even read. I hope it won’t affect your Wikipedia contributions too much. In terms of the PayPal logo on ProBullStats, it says it’s for coffee money. Perhaps it’s also to help maintain the website. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 01:46, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I made you an archive page, I'm sure you saw. Mine are split into the years but I have more content. I can split yours into years if you want; it doesn't take long. Ok, so I've tried to update Leme's draft article. Right now I don't access to the sources I had lined up (I can't find the flash drive). And I can't use outs on ProBullStats. So I'm stuck using the PBR profile. The page needs help hehe. Can you take a look? I think you will know quite more about it anyway. I wouldn't even mind turning it over to you and just doing the technical stuff. I do want to do a double DYK with Woopaa but that's no biggie. Oh and the PBR screwed up their search page feature. It used turn up articles. Now it just turns up profiles. But I can usually pull it up in a web search if I know enough keywords. Looks like wiki writing is getting harder these days. fun fun Here's the link User:Dawnleelynn/Jose Vitor Leme dawnleelynn(talk) 18:32, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, don't worry about what I said regarding Leme earlier. But it would be nice if you could help me decide what content to go on his page. And today I finally found the flash drive with all my stuff, so yay! Have a great week! dawnleelynn(talk) 22:46, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. I apologize it took me a while to respond. Thank you very much for the archive page. I would appreciate it you could split it into years as well. I’ll be sure to take a look at the Jose Vitor Leme draft and fix anything if necessary. It’s a shame that the PBR messed with their search page. I don’t know what the editors of the website were thinking. I also know that the “All-Time Money Earners” List is a little screwed up. I noticed it several years ago. I noticed that the earnings from some riders got decreased. I also noticed that three PBR riders in particular from way back in the day (Casey Gates, Rodney Lidgard, and Chris Sorace) had their career earnings at $0.00 each, which I know is not the case by a long shot. Thanks for letting me know you found your flash drive. What a relief! It would’ve been sad if all that information you compiled was lost forever. Hope you have a great week yourself. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 02:20, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No worries about response time. Good to hear from you. Actually I worked today on Leme's page a bit. I've been writing some content based on the PBR Profile from the PBR Media Guide. And I also went through my Humps 'N Horns magazines again. I have the issue which contains the article about Leme when he won the 2021 World Champion. You are welcome to still edit, you just might find it's a continuing thing for awhile. I also have two magazines that have articles about Woopaa so I will be taking some information about him too. Well, that information you have about the all time money earners is really discouraging. And career earnings too. Hmmm... It's very unfortunate indeed. Well, hopefully, I have enough sources to get around the things that are being hidden. Have a great week too! dawnleelynn(talk) 02:36, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Archives made but you did't have any messages for 2021. That doesn't seem right. dawnleelynn(talk) 20:36, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi hope all is going well this week. A question on User:Dawnleelynn/Jose Vitor Leme. I have substantial content in all seasons but this year - it's blank. The media guide gives me a little bit. You can get access to that down below in bibliography in the article. Also, I just made a list of qualified rides from his PBR profile. There are 12 of them. Before I go searching the Internet for PBR news articles... what do you suggest adding or rather whom? There are 12 qualified rides. Obviously we would add his 94+ ride on Ridin Solo. I'm not looking for alot, just some names of bulls he rode would suffice. Like you did for Murray. If you have time. In the meantime, I'm going to work on some content from the magazine article which only has content prior to 2022. Thanks... dawnleelynn(talk) 21:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC) p.s. If I can find any news in 2022 I can put in more details, otherwise it will just be a cite to the PBR Profile, same as I would do with the ProBullStats. dawnleelynn(talk) 22:00, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. I wish I knew why I don’t have any 2021 messages. I don’t know what the problem could be. In regards to Jose Vitor Leme’s qualified rides for 2022 so far, I counted 15 of them. Actually, 16. One of them was a 68.5 ride, which was awarded a re-ride which he accepted, so that one doesn’t count. I suggest adding these rides as the season highlights:

  • The first event he competed in this year at the Gwinnett Invitational in Gwinnett, Georgia. He missed the first three UTB events of the year because he was recovering from injuries. He bucked off his first round bull, but bounced back by riding his second round and championship round bulls.
  • Another highlight could be the Ariat Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Again, he bucked off his first round bull, but rode his next two bulls, including a 92-point ride in the championship round.
  • You mentioned his 94.75-point ride on Ridin’ Solo. That was during the 15/15 Bucking Battle at the Express Ranches Invitational in Oklahoma City. That was his only highlight for that event because, he bucked off all his long round bulls during the regular three-day event.
  • Another highlight could be the Ticketsmarter Invitational in St. Louis, Missouri. He rode both his long round bulls, but got bucked off in the championship round.
  • The next highlight could be the Bad Boy Mowers Mowdown in Little Rock, Arkansas. This is the event where he accepted a re-ride after scoring 68 points in the first round because of the bull’s poor performance. He rode all his bulls, including a 92-point ride in the championship round.
  • The next highlight could be his 89.5-point ride in the first round of the Caterpillar Classic in Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately, he bucked off his next two bulls.

These are the moments I feel are worth mentioning for Jose Vitor Leme’s 2022 UTB season. He’s currently in the top ten of the PBR world standings, but he has struggled this year compared to years past. He has missed some events due to injuries. Also, there aren’t that many moments to choose from because starting this year, the UTB season has been shortened to the winter and spring. As we speak, there are only three regular season UTB events until the World Finals in mid-May. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 01:20, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uricarrillo, thanks for the information. I knew you knew more about those then I did. Like about the reride and the other details. It seems you are suggesting that I document the entire event in most cases, which easy to do as that is how they are listed in the profile. This is extremely helpful. I noticed that he is in 6th place right now and the season is over in May. Seems so strange. Thanks a bunch. I'll let you know when you can check it over. Have a good night. dawnleelynn(talk) 02:59, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. The reason why the UTB season is short this year is because that is how it will be from now on. This year, the PBR will launch the new Team Series and those events will be taking place during the second half of the calendar year. Also, when the 2022 World Finals concludes, the Touring Pro Division will be changing names and will now be known as the Challenger Series and will be taking place at the same time as the Team Series. It seems that starting with the 2023 PBR calendar year, PBR events in the United States will be having the Team Series and Challenger Series taking place in the summer and autumn of 2022, and the Unleash the Beast Series and Velocity Tour taking place in the winter and spring of 2023, and that is how PBR events in the United States will be running from now on. Hope you have a good night yourself. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 05:05, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uricarrillo, Well I have added what you recommended. There's no rush to review it though. I'm still working on the content from the magazine so I have time. Wikipedia articles are never done, like I said. :) Oh and also did I say I have two articles from the magazine that have content on Woopaa too? Actually one article is entirely devoted to him when he won the title. I added a bit on the format change in the 2022 section, but I haven't got up to speed on it yet so I kept it brief. There's a citation in there now though so it can be expanded. dawnleelynn(talk) 19:08, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll be sure to review it when it’s done, and fix anything if necessary. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 03:23, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I finished the content addition task for Leme. You can edit it whenever. Just in case, you know you can click the links on the Humps N Horns magazines and read those at the ISSUU site, yes? And I already know you have been reading the media guides. I have to do some more copy editing, but the main content has been added. Thanks! Oh and yes thanks for doing another edit on Spotted Demon (bull); he's in the DYK queue so that's so very helpful. dawnleelynn(talk) 18:25, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just moved this to mainspace Virgil (bucking horse). I don't know how familiar you are with rodeo horses. But anyone can copy edit at least. It's pretty short .Thanks! dawnleelynn(talk) 20:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. I’ll be sure to edit Jose Vitor Leme’s article when I have the chance. I’ll also be adding some more information to Woopaa’s article. Honestly, I’m not as knowledgeable about bucking horses as I am with bulls, but I’ll be sure to edit Virgil’s article if necessary. Thank you very much. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 20:32, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No worries about rodeo horses. I still have two articles from Humps N Horns regarding Woopaa and adding any pertinent information I might find there. But definitely want yours too! It's a draft so we can combine any duplicate information if necessary. We don't have to worry about things like that in a draft. Thanks a lot. I just want the article to be as complete and accurate as possible since this bucking bull is going to be very historic. dawnleelynn(talk) 21:40, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Uricarrillo I have just finished User:Dawnleelynn/Sage_Steele_Kimzey. When I move it to mainspace I will remove the middle name. You can take a look if you like. I am moving it soon. I plan to keep looking for more stories, especially in the current year. If you know of anything I can search on that's worth adding, let me know. Have a great day. And your additions to Leme and Woopaa were great. dawnleelynn(talk) 14:18, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll be sure to take a look at the Sage Kimzey draft and edit if necessary. I really appreciate your feedback. By the way, I was wondering if you created the "List of Canadian Rodeo Champions" article. If so, I was hoping you could change the title when you have the chance. The reason is because, it’s the list of year-end champions for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA). In Canada, there are a number of rodeo organizations such as the Canadian Cowboys Association, Canadian Senior Pro Rodeo Association, Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, etc. But the article in question is specifically about the champions of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. So, if it’s no problem, if you could change the title to "List of Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Champions", it would be greatly appreciated. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 01:16, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uricarrillo, I'm happy to change the title. Btw, it's called moving a page in Wikipedia terms. And I can move a page on my own without doing a move page discussion on the talk page if I'm positive no one else is monitoring the page who might object. I'm pretty sure I can just move that page. I actually did not create it, but it was pretty short when I added many lists to it. You can move pages too. Let me know if you want to learn that.
I did a lot of editing on Kimzey the last three days. Now would be a good time to edit it. I'm not going to put that article on DYK. It's very backed up. I have three articles in DYK, and they have been sitting awhile. Thanks very much. Your feedback on these articles has been very valuable indeed so thanks again. I saw some new edits today very helpful. I'm learning more about bull riding from you. dawnleelynn(talk) 03:15, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see you've outdone youself lately. Thank you so much. I can add Dirty Jacket and Medicine Woman (horse) as ready for a look over. They are also not that long. Well, as I suspected, they have made ProBullStats partially a pay wall. $50 per year for individual membership. I can't use it that way for Wikipedia. It's going to take awhile to edit all the articles in Wikipedia and have them point to the PBR pages instead. All of the rider and bull pages plus some other types of pages. I always thought having links on Wikipedia gave them free publicity. You still get access to some areas, like the champions lists for example. It's mostly the statistics that are limited. And now you can't search for articles for the PBR website. I wonder if they prefer not to have the articles on Wikipedia? dawnleelynn(talk) 16:23, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. No problem. I’ll be sure to take a look at the Dirty Jacket and Medicine Woman articles. So, it’s official, huh? They’re making the ProBullStats statistics a paywall. Bummer. It was nice to be able to get easy access to past ride records for riders and bulls, but now that you have to pay to get access is disappointing. I guess they needed a solution to keep the website going. I don’t know why one can no longer find articles on the PBR website. Perhaps they’re remodeling the website, or if they indeed restricted article searches, I wonder why they would do such a thing. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 20:45, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uricarrillo,

To be clear, you can search on PBR but what comes up are the profiles with the pictures or the empty profile pictures of riders and bulls. You can go to the News Articles and page through them and get to articles that way, just keep going backward to see more articles. That's what I did to get articles for Woopaa. It will only help you for more current riders or bulls. Ok, if I need to learn more about awards versus other types of achievements, I'm willing. Thank you. Regarding Virgil, etc. I'm working on an article now and I'm getting my stats from the PBR in the profile of the bull. So far so good! dawnleelynn(talk) 21:42, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. I've been thinking about the ProBullStats. If you are going to charge for data access, you should have accurate data. For example. Bodacious only has two outs in his record for the PBR, even though he won World Champion Bull. Ty Murray's record is definitely incomplete another example. I know that I have seen other incomplete records. When stats are compiled from these records for overall records like 500 ranked, power 500, etc. how can they be accurate when based on inaccurate data? Is the season average BFTS score accurate all the time? Cause I'd like to know. Anyway, I looked at Murray's profile on PBR just now and I can get all of his PBR records there. I'm going to compare to what I took from ProBullStats back when I was working the article. I typed it all up in a notepad for easy access. Just some thoughts. It is a given btw that the PRCA records are not complete most of the time. And then don't those get mixed in? dawnleelynn(talk) 01:25, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dawn. Thanks for the clarification. I removed those parts from Virgil’s award section because, they are rodeos that riders won while riding Virgil. They would be awards won by the riders rather than by Virgil himself. It’s a shame that ProBullStats is charging for incomplete data. Those of us who saw a lot of the outs before they started charging already knew it was incomplete. It’s strange that for a lot of the older outs, there are records for some, but not others. Actually, Bodacious has six recorded outs on ProBullStats. His complete PRCA and PBR outs are not all included in the website, of course. I guess that even with the incomplete data, they average bulls’ outing scores to come up with the 500 ranked list. In regards to Ty Murray’s PBR rider profile, his outs prior to 1998 are unavailable for some reason. As are those for all the other riders from the PBR’s very early years. I guess we can only work with what’s available to us. Even with the incomplete PRCA outs, it would be nice to add them as career highlights as well. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 21:25, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uricarrillo Thanks for that explanation on Virgil and info regarding ProBullStats. I recall now that Bodacious had I think, two, BFTS outs and four ProRodeo outs. Yes, I agree it would be nice to add them as career highlights. It is possible to add paysites to an article as long as you don't go overboard with it. I'll be still digesting this and thinking about it for a bit. Have a good weekend! dawnleelynn(talk) 22:01, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rango

[edit]

The message is getting too long. I created User:Dawnleelynn/Rango (bull) from scratch the last couple days. Always a favorite of mine. Not a really long article. I added the more significant outs that I knew, the rides mostly. I typed them out from the PBR website into a notepad. If you view the talk page, you'll see all of the outs in a condensed way that might be more easy to view and find. Anyway, if we could do like what we were doing for Murray. Just tell me the names to include in the article, I'll add them and their information in. You can use the talk page outs or the PBR site, whichever is better. No rush of course. I'm going to work on another draft that's been waiting a long time. Other editing is up to you of course. Thanks for helping with the previous ones. dawnleelynn(talk) 18:59, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, George Paul Memorial Bull Riding, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 00:38, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, Uricarrillo94,

Please do not move pages around multiple times. Think through an article move and do not do one impulsively that you just end up reverting. It looks like you're not sure of what you want to do and is disruptive. Try to move an article only once, not over and over again. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:57, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you putting these in both parent and child categories at the same time? Why is it not good to diffuse Category:Sports halls of fame? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 18:51, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. It is good to add Category:Sports halls of fame, because they are halls of fame of specific sports and/or sport organizations. It would make it easier if they were all in the same category. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 19:00, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But this is directly contrary to the advice at WP:CAT. See how Category:Sports halls of fame is broken up by sport? Why is it a good thing to take out all of the tennis ones and golf ones and baseball ones and make a single crowded category? I see you have continued to do that at:
Please undo all these edits, as they are already all in Category:Rodeo halls of fame or a subcategory of that. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 19:27, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I need you to please stop and undo these. You have done it again four more times. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 20:54, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edgar Durazo

[edit]

Hi there. Thank you for your help on my new article, Edgar Durazo, recently. I really appreciate it from someone who knows more about the sport than me. All the terms are new to me, but Durazo is a distant relative of mine so I'm doing my best to learn. Something that is really unclear to me is the results of the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR 46).

I see that you added this as an event win for Durazo, and the Strathmore Times says he "won the CFR bull riding title in 2019." However, the source, as well as FloRodeo and the Ponoka News, all say Jordan Hansen was the “aggregate winner” while Durazo finished second. Wouldn't this mean that Durazo finished second at the CFR despite winning the overall 2019 CPRA title? Perhaps the Strathmore Times meant he won the CPRA title in 2019? I appreciate any clarification you could provide. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 03:55, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. No problem. Yes, you are correct; Jordan Hansen was the bull-riding aggregate winner of the 2019 CFR. My mistake. Nice to know that you are a distant relative of Edgar Durazo. Bull riding is one of my biggest passions in life. I try to add as much correct information as I can to the articles related to the sport. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 08:22, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That’s awesome. It seems like a fascinating sport. Like I said, I would appreciate any edits or additions to the page, even minor alterations to better reflect correct rodeo terms. It seems like he’s accomplished a lot and I want to report on it correctly, similar to you. If you don’t mind me asking, are you from Mexico yourself, and had you heard of Durazo before this? JTtheOG (talk) 09:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For sure. I myself was born in the United States, but my family is from Mexico. Yes, I've known about Durazo for several years. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 01:08, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh nice. My dad's from a town neighboring Durazo's hometown in Sonora while my mom is from Tijuana. Anyways, I thought I saw a mention or two of Durazo competing at the PBR World Cup (I assume the 2010 version), but I can't seem to find the team rosters from that year. Meanwhile, articles on PBR.com seem to be disappearing at the moment. Do you know if there's any way he was on the 2010 roster? JTtheOG (talk) 02:59, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Both my parents and their families are from Guanajuato. It appears that Durazo did not compete in the 2010 PBR World Cup. The rosters can be found in the following link:https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/rodeo/professional-bull-riders/field-set-for-pbr-world-cup-in-las-vegas/
Also, all of Durazo's PBR career rides can be found in this section of his PBR profile. It starts with the most recent and ends with the earliest: https://www.pbrcanada.com/riders/profiles/e/edgar-durazo_5255/
The 2010 PBR World Cup took place in April of 2010 in Las Vegas, and it does not look like he participated in said event. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 10:03, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
