There is a house called KOPIWATTE GEDARA ( කෝපිවත්ත ගෙදර ) In Dondra , Sri Lanka. It was situated in middle of the public play ground in Dondra . After 1977 the UNP government had been taken that house and area for make play ground for youth. The house was surrounded many Coffee Trees. That is why the house got the name Kopiwatta Gedara.
According to my father's explanation, they used to live on their own land which is now under the Siriwardena Aramaya. But since my father's grandfather was a alcohol( toddy රා ) addict, Siriwardena Maha Mudliar had given him too much toddy and Mudliar had taken possession of the land. Because the land is adjacent to his palace. It is very valuable to him. To increase the size of his property.He then took the family and settled them in a land called Kopiwatta. Then my father was 2 or 3 years old. Around 1925.
My father told me that my paternal grandfather worked as a Kapumahattaya in the Devinuwara Devalaya. Three months before the festival at the Devinuwara Devalaya, he completely stops drinking toddy and eating beef and fish. He transforms into a vegetarian full-fledged Buddhist.
🌷Speaking of the Siriwardena family. The palace was handed over to his son by Mudalier and the palace was handed over to the Kandapahala Temple as he had no children. Now it was a Buddhist temple called Siriwardanaramaya.

W.M.Edvin Silva - Businessman , worked at Mannin market, And farmer at Anuradhapura , Billiord room and club owner at Nallathanniya, Hatton.and he had a car called Fergeo car and MW Passenger van. 🌷 He married : Pathma Senadeera from Tissamaharamaya. 🌷 Children : Chaminda sanjeewa ( son ) , Dulan ( son ) , Thusitha ( son ) , Thanoja ( daughter ) He deid in 1985 by heart attack.
5. W.M. Charles. He married Siriwardena ralahamy's sister. Name forgetten. But no children . Businessman , jointted with SK family and started SK hotel in Tangalle with SK Karunadasa esqr. Finnaly, He started his own cafe as " Charles Cafe" in Mahawela Road, Tangalle . It was closed to Calton house. He was a closed friend of H.E. Mahinda Rajapaksha. I met Mr Mahinda Rajapaksha at his hotel in first time. Nearly 1990. I was a Factory Manager at Miami Export Ranna . I am leaving by 6.00 am from home to heading to Ranna and getting Breakfast at his hotel with my driver. One day I met Mr Mahinda Rajapaksha and My uncle introduced me as a Manager of Ranna Garment. And he said My elder brother s elder son by very proudly .. ( මහත්තයෝ මේ මගේ ලොකු අයියාගෙ ලොකු පුතා, රන්න ගාමන්ට් එකේ මැනේජර් ) After the 1970 SLFP government came to power, my uncle Charles got the contract to build the Tangalle bus stand. It is not clear whether it was due to his association with Mahinda esqr. The rest of the asbestos SEAT was in the front room of our house for quite some time. They were then placed at Uncle Edwin's house at my sister's attend party ( වැඩිවිය පැමිණීීීීීීීීීීමේ) Loku Jayakodi's active participation for this will not be forgotten. The CHARLES CAFE had a four upstair rooms and used for foriegners to stay in Tangalle . My Uncle Mr Charles ( චාල්ස් මහත්තයා ) studied at St servatiuse college by English medium . So he is an exper in English . I remember, H.E. Mahinda Rajapaksha is coming to read Daily News and Sunday Observe to this Charles Cafe. And he is going in side of Mr Charles room. My uncle will make tea for him and he will serve him self. Not by servents. If its morning he they will sip tea or coffe. If its after 6.00 they will sip hot drinks. 🙂
