How've you been? I must leave. Circumstances force me to. If it is to check pages monthly or so, so yes - I will be coming from time to time. But I can't afford myself more than that... Regards, Shshshsh2 (talk) 14:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I intend to see "Dasavatharam" as a GA article too. I was just trying to help. I will stop helping if you are planning to take ownership of the article.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Aegan-Stills-51.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aegan-Stills-51.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Anandha Jodhi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Anandha Jodhi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 02:52, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Magalir Mattum

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Magalir Mattum, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Marudha.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Marudha.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Request to move article Dasavathaaram (film) incomplete

[edit]

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Dasavathaaram (film) to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 18:19, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the article back to its original name and removed your WP:RM request, as well as the poll at the article's talk page. Concerning your comment at WP:RM and the user's talk page, I see no reason to assume that the page move was vandalistic, in fact I see nothing but good faith edits in the user's contributions. What made you think so?

Just checked again on the article and I'm impressed by its progress. I am upset that you no longer wish to talk to me. I always considered you a friend on here. Check your user page you evne have a barnstar awarded by me congratulating you on your much needed work. I feel though that you taken my requests for you to reference certain articles to heart as serious criticism and a result no longer feel the wish to speak to me. P.S I always though you were living in India, didn't know you were in London! Please stop by when you have a mo as there are a few things I'd like to discuss. You can also email if you'd rather. Best Count Blofeld 12:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry to hear that you are not as into wiki at the present but I always thought you were of vital importance for Indian cinema articles on here because very few editors edit SOuth Indian ones and the ones that do either barely speak a word of English, or add ridiculous POV to articles or include nothing to verify them. I know its a tall order to try to contribute a film industry or two on wikipedia almost solely but don't think for a second that your contributions are not much appreciated. My only concern was that some of the articles need a link to verify it as often many of the films don't exist on english speaking sites so they are oftne difficult to find. Undoubtedly the telugu, tamil and malayalam articles are in great need of devleopment as do most of the Hindi films but I have seen a gradual improvement in many of the articles so if I click one at random in a category oftne I find an article with the required content these days. If you think you can develop some to GA level I think this would be a fantasitc achievement and will try to help out if you require it. Articles like Dasavathaaram, Vaaranam Aayiram really are very good and on par with evne some of our better Hindi articles. The major problem of course is uneveness in quality. If we can ge tmost of the articles even up to start class with the basic requirements I'll be more than pleased with progress. Count Blofeld 12:48, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reckon I get Dasavathaaram up to GA with a little work. First stage the plot section needs condensing a little. Could you help? Count Blofeld 13:04, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of En Thangai

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article En Thangai, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Templated stub on a film. Two sentences, no sources, and not even an exact year of release.

Sonnal Thaan Kathala

[edit]

Hi Mr.Universal Hero, the movie I mentioned about was deleted because somebody moved the page to Sonnal Thaan Karadiya. As you know this movie was not a big hit but its songs were, and that makes it notable. I'm trying to convince those guys but they clearly don't know and think it's a hoax because actor, producer, director etc. are all the ame person i.e. T. Rajendar (which is the fact as you know!). Also it may have been deleted because in the cached version, somebody has written Karadi everywhere. Can you please help me with this case to explain to them this is not a hoax? You can refer to it here: Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2008 December 14. I look forward to your support.

Like you wrote on your page, I also believe all movies by notable actors / directors deserve a page on Wiki, and TR is no exception. Please help me convince them this isn't a hoax movie/topic so they can restore the page so that the collection of A-Z Tamil movies on Wiki is not compromised. Thanks. Speedy deletion of Sasi (director)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sasi (director) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Sasi (director)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sasi (director), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails to assert subject's notability other than by listing films; provides no references to back up same; films listed all have unsourced articles with notability issues. Little coverage found in English-speaking media.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Question about a Tamil film producer

[edit]

Hi, I have a question about the Tamil film producer/distributor Venu Ravichandran. Specifically, about his name. His imdb.com page calls him Oscar Ravichandran [1] with Venu Ravichandran and Oscar V Ravichandran as alternative names. Recently, Wikipedia articles about this guy and his production company Aascar Films (previously Oscar Films) have been edited to insert promotional stuff, which is how I noticed him - I know nothing about Tamil films really. In any case, most WP articles have his name as either Oscar Ravichandran or Oscar V Ravichandran, and I just noticed that the article about him used to be at Oscar Ravichandran. You moved it to Venu Ravichandran last summer, and now I'm wondering if you can recall anything about it - why did the article change names? I got a question about it on my talk page, and thought I'd better relay it to somebody who might know :-)
The issue is further confused by the fact that there is a V. Ravichandran as well, an entirely different person. --Bonadea (talk) 09:04, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Sikandar (2009 film)

[edit]

I have nominated Sikandar (2009 film), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sikandar (2009 film). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 14:05, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
