Deletion Of Cristiano Novembre

[edit]

Please see the details I made in Talk:Cristiano novembre as to why I value it is important to keep the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandlaeors (talkcontribs) 18:31, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of non-playing footballers (AfD:Paul Rodgers (footballer))

[edit]

Hello! You contributed to AfD:Paul Rodgers by voting to keep him. As you may know, WP:FOOTY is currently working to finalize a Notability criteria. One of the points of the current suggestion that are still being debated is more or less a translation of AfD:Paul Rodgers. I'm now trying to come up with a suggestion that summarizes this AfD, and would like you to comment on my interpretation of your arguments, and perhaps even discuss a suggestion. Thank you! Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Firefox Extensions.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Firefox Extensions.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:59, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. :) I saw your name listed on Wikipedia:Translators available for Korean. I need help translating a note to editors for the Kim Yu-Na article. Unspecified source for Image:6th_Duke_of_Richmond.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:6th_Duke_of_Richmond.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 21:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:San Francisco HDR.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:San Francisco HDR.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:San Francisco HDR.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Re:AFD

[edit]

My apologies for the confusion. I skimmed the arguments, and assumed Carioca's was a rebuttal to yours - it wasn't. However, Carioca's comment might cast into doubt the inherent notability - Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Notability is only an essay, albeit by the consensus of a WikiProject. Feel free to reopen to gain further input - I'm unsure how reopening works, and would probably just make an even bigger mess of things. I am putting back the speedy tag on this one -- it's still promo despite your edits and should be reviewed by an admin. Please use the edit summary when making any edit, but particularly when you remove speedy tags. – ukexpat (talk) 18:37, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have to echo this... removing speedy deletion tags without comment is confusing and poor form. If they were added in good faith they should be removed only with a good faith explanation. --Rividian (talk) 18:39, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of apartheid deletion notification

[edit]

Some time ago, you participated in a deletion discussion concerning Allegations of Chinese apartheid. I thought you might like to know that the parent article, Allegations of apartheid, was recently nominated for deletion. Given that many of the issues that have been raised are essentially the same as those on the article on which you commented earlier, you may have a view on whether Allegations of apartheid should be kept or deleted. If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination). -- ChrisO (talk) 17:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Kraft

[edit]

Prove me he has played a competitive match in a fully professional league and I'll restore the article, that's quite simple. Rules exist in order to be respected, that's how it works. And yes, I've plenty of things to do (I have a full-time job, for instance) but this doesn't mean I should just forget about Wikipedia policy. --Angelo (talk) 19:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The subject's article was deleted via AFD under claim of failing WP:ATHLETE, so I am expected to delete every single recreated version until the AFD motivation no longer applies. Your opinion on WP:ATHLETE and notability of football athletes is thus completely irrelevant, as well as mine. Again, when the subject's cause for being deleted is no longer valid, feel free to leave me a note and I'll restore the article as soon as possible. --Angelo (talk) 20:13, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Michael Lang (footballer)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Michael Lang (footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. GTD 14:09, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Stefano Deluigi

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Stefano Deluigi. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stefano Deluigi. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to create that page also on the italian Wikipedia, but I don't have the game so I can't take screenshot of it. Have you personally taken the photo or have you simply downloaded it from somewhere in the internet? If you are the author, can you please let me upload it on it.wikipedia in order to use it for the italian article? Thanks, --Filnik dimmi! 15:25, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Ugen64! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 22 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 50 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

File source problem with File:George_Ward_Hunt.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:George_Ward_Hunt.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. Speedy deletion nomination of Altera

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Altera, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Mario Götze. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mario Götze has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
