Blocks
[edit]Is it possible to login and edit items from a blocked IP, ie. 198.163.213.19, since I find edits I'd like to make, but can't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tyman 101 (talk • contribs)
- Just follow the directions of the block message. You should always log in first though to avoid the problem as much as possible. Xiner (talk, email) 02:14, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- Whenever I do, I'm logged in, but when I click edit, it tells me that the IP is blocked, and I can't edit. Is there a way to bypass that? Tyman 101 02:15, 4 March 2007 (UTC) EDIT: The only page I can edit is this one.
- Sorry for the delay. Add {{unblock|Please reblock as an IP-only block}} or something similar. What you want is a block on your IP address that still allows you to edit as a registered user, I think. Unless, of course, you were the one who got blocked. Then that would be asking for a ban evasion. Right now, your IP address is blocked, and as such even though you are registered, you cannot edit. I hope that answers your question :). Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update
[edit]Hey Tyman 101. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.
We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.
Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:25, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for September 30
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Little League World Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New Albany. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your work evidently uses a web host(which is not uncommon for workplaces). I will give you a short term IP block exemption so you can resume editing. Attendance info for 2023 CEBL Season
[edit]Hey Crazye97!
I see you have made some edits to the attendance and cleaned it up.
I am just wondering where you got the information for certain teams attendance being incorrect? Gojetsgo55 (talk) 20:41, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hey - appreciate your work on the page as well.
- The incorrect attendances are a bit of WP:OR, but the Vancouver one is a typo, based on the video and their later reported attendances on the boxscores all being 1000. For Winnipeg, the number that was put in was made up by the statistician and didn't match what was given out by the team and passed along to the media (and reported in the WFP article). crazye97 (talk) 07:38, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message, I was sort of confused when I saw that number for the Vancouver game. In terms of the Winnipeg game I was unaware of that discrepancy. Gojetsgo55 (talk) 07:09, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- I also have a question, am I supposed to add playoff attendance to the table? Gojetsgo55 (talk) 16:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- No worries on the discrepancy - I mainly know because I was feet away from the statistician when he did it.
- Playoff attendance - I believe generally no, as that's usually for regular season. crazye97 (talk) 01:02, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

Attendance edit on July 7 2024 for CEBL
[edit]Hi Crazye97,
I appreciate your edit to the attendance portion. I’m just wondering if the edit you did was just an update to the actual numbered standings (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) and not the actual attendance?
In other words are the numbers still accurate to July 3, 2024? Gojetsgo55 (talk) 18:44, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2024 CEBL season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages St. Catherines and TBD. Attendance edit made for July 23rd 2024 for CEBL
[edit]Hello again,
Is it possible to hold off on posting percentages as there are still games to play in the regular season?
I’m unsure if there is policy preventing that from being posted yet, also was there an issue with me skipping the game with no attendance marked on July 11th when calculating the average?
Anyway if we could further discuss this that would be great!
Thank you Gojetsgo55 (talk) 08:33, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- If you really want to remove and replace the averages, have at it. It's an automatic calculation as it is. I didn't factor in the missing game at the bottom of the table, however - good catch. crazye97 (talk) 21:53, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
