The page Minister responsible for the Gender Equity Manitoba (Manitoba) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. - Response to your message
- My apologies I made an error on the title and didn’t realize till after which I had to edit again. Gojetsgo55 (talk) 06:05, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- I just came to remove this. I usually don't post notices for mistakes in redirects/article moves but I forgot to uncheck the box that says "Notify page editor". This happens all of the time. Don't worry about it. Sorry for the alert. Liz Read! Talk! 06:16, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- It’s all good! Gojetsgo55 (talk) 06:19, 25 May 2023 (UTC)

MLAs
[edit]Firstly, if an MLA's riding name changes, then that starts a new office. We do not tuck multiple different riding names into one office field; if the riding name changes, that sets a new office field.
Secondly, a non-returning MLA's term ends with the writ drop, not on election day. Bearcat (talk) 16:18, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- that is very strange as some other former MLA’s page stays that way until a new member is elected. Where is this practice posted? Gojetsgo55 (talk) 02:52, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for citing the [[Wikipedia:CANPOL
- there are other pages that have this practice i.e Ron Schuler of including other constituencies in the title box, this is an effort to clean up what would be a messy info box. Gojetsgo55 (talk) 16:30, 7 October 2023 (UTC)

Cathy Merrick Birthdate
[edit]Hello Gojetsgo55, I noticed you had added a birthdate for Cathy Merrick but provided no source. Looking online, I could not find a verifiable source for her date of birth. Can I ask where you found this date? French Wikipedia provided a 1962 date, but that was not accurate (she was 63 so it pushes the date back, and attributed that date to a scraping site). I would really appreciate some clarity on the matter. Ornithoptera (talk) 00:20, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Ornithoptera
- I appreciate your message and as well all the work you’ve put into making this page for Cathy Merrick. I am from Manitoba and this was certainly a very sad day for many in the province.
- To answer your question, I had seen a program for Cathy Merrick that was posted online with a date of birth posted (I think it may have been a government minister or MLA who may have posted it)
- however, I searched facebook and found a picture depicting the same information.
- At this time I’m unsure how to insert the picture here, however I would like to find a way to get it to you.
- Thank you so much for all the work you did here with this page! Gojetsgo55 (talk) 05:46, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Gojetsgo55, I've seen Facebook accounts cited in an informal context previously in an absence of third party information, if it is posted by a minister or MLA that might be the most ideal source. If you have a link to that page, and it is not an account of a private individual, I would invite you to cite that within the article. Thank you so much for the kind words by the way! It really does mean a lot! Ornithoptera (talk) 20:10, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- I will definitely do that, thank you! Gojetsgo55 (talk) 22:48, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

Unnecessary caps
[edit]Hello, I've just cleaned up your additions to 2023 Manitoba general election. Thank you for adding that useful content, but please don't capitalize words that don't need it, such as "Brian Pallister Resigns as the MLA For Fort Whyte, Triggering a By-Election." I'll attach a link for the Manual of Style below, which is always worth brushing up on. If I can help with anything, just let me know. Thanks, Jessicapierce (talk) 17:54, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 17:54, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to George Scott Wallace, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it.
It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 18:12, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please use Preview (or your sandbox) to see how your changes will appear, instead of submitting a ton of very small edits. This clutters the edit history and makes it harder for editors to see when significant changes were made. I noticed the same issue at Winnipeg Thunder, where you added valuable content (thank you!) - but a small infobox should not take 17 edits to add. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 18:12, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Jessicapierce,
- I appreciate your message!
- In regards to the multiple edits, I am trying to catch up to be right up to date with the service medals and other criteria also sometimes there are inadvertent errors I
- make.
- I agree that my editing practices are a bit unorthodox to what is considered normal. I will definitely take what you’ve said into consideration for future reference.
- I hope this helps provide better insight.
- thank you again for reaching out! Gojetsgo55 (talk) 22:25, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
