Hello Tyler07 PHS. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Tyler07 PHS. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Tyler07 PHS|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PHS = Pitman High School? CandyScythe (talk) 17:44, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CandyScythe,
I am in no form paid or given compensation for updating the Wikipedia page regarding John H. Pitman. I am a current student who just likes to write in article form.
Thank you,
Tyler07

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to John H. Pitman High School, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Tyler07 PHS, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Tyler07 PHS|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. CandyScythe (talk) 19:02, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:CCAL League.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:CCAL League.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:09, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:CCAL League.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CCAL League.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:44, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at John H. Pitman High School, you may be blocked from editing. Drmies (talk) 04:57, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You denied earlier that you have a conflict of interest, but your edits are those of one with a COI. In addition, your edits lacked proper formatting, and they were not neutral. Finally, don't go around calling other people trolls. Drmies (talk) 05:00, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at John H. Pitman High School. COI/promotional edits, edit warring, insertion of non-notables, basic MOS violations, etc. Drmies (talk) 05:04, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Girth Summit, I see you're up--plz help me out here. What this editor has been doing in John H. Pitman High School is clearly disruptive enough for reasons mentioned above, and on top of that they had to go and create User:BigBob8932. I CU-blocked that one, but I don't know what to do with this account--well, I think I know, but I'd rather someone else have a look and make the call. So, if you have a minute, I appreciate it, and honestly I don't care one way or another. Maybe there's hope for them, if they see that we are serious. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 13:20, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Between the promotional writing, the sockpuppetry, and the vandalism (yes, I consider replacing the entire content of an article with the text 'write it yourself'), I think we're in indef territory - done.
Tyler07_PHS: editing Wikipedia is a hobby, and it should be enjoyable, but that doesn't mean this is a playground. This is a workplace, where volunteer contributors do our best to write encyclopedic articles. If you aren't willing to engage with other editors constructively, you may not edit here. If you want to have another go at it, you will need to think about what you have done, and make an unblock request (following the guidance at WP:GAB) that convinces us that you aren't going to cause any further disruption.
As an aside, you should be aware that the statement on your userpage ought to read "I am currently a student who attends high school". 'Whom' is the objective form of the word who, but you are using it in the subjective so 'who' is he right form, and there is no reason to capitalise 'high school', unless it forms part of a proper noun phrase (like the name of your school, John H. Pitman High School). Apologies for the pedantry, but I'm a teacher, so consider this a free tip on better writing. Best wishes Girth Summit (blether) 13:39, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the feedback and sorry for the mistakes. Yea I realized that I didn't write correctly most likely due to the fact that I was up late writing that. But yes thank you for the correction. I will change that immediately. Thank you, Tyler07 PHS Tyler07 PHS (talk) 17:17, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the moderation on my post. I put very much time into creating and refining it and to the best of my knowledge, no one in my school is interested in updating the thread with current and relevant information. I understand your reports now while thinking it over but I still question your removal for the newest Alumni member. I would really suggest in the future for you to provide adequate feedback instead of saying "who dat". I had websites cited showing proof of them existing and attending John H. Pitman High School. Although you don't really care, if you block me and attempt to ban me (which you did so congrats), please actually provide information instead of just commenting as the issues that I do have in writing will not be corrected with simple and bashful comments. If you don't want to provide that information I suggest you to fix it and educate other viewers instead of shunning them for their mistakes. I understand you are a volunteer and I respect your status, but at the same time you should lead by example instead of repeating the same things I have done and then complaining that I have something wrong.
Thank you,

Replaceable non-free use File:Turlock, John H. Pitman High School Front Entrance.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Turlock, John H. Pitman High School Front Entrance.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 06:59, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
