Previous and next albums in infobox

Greetings, Two Hearted River. I have started a discussion about the use or non-use of compilations and archival live releases at Talk:The Allman Brothers Band discography#Previous and next albums in infobox. Feel free to join in. — Mudwater 00:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Although I have explained why this article remains a "start" class by the Album classification system in the comment box, I wanted to drop you a personal line, since it seems so otherwise a superior article. :) It is a requirement that for an article to be B class—the highest class we can assign—it must have a listing of all personnel, including technical. Currently, only musicians are detailed. I could easily add the technical personnel myself (well, I could if AMG would load for me; at the moment, it's resisting), but then I couldn't evaluate it. :) Once technical personnel are added, please feel free to drop me a note on my talk page, and I'll come over and give it the grade it deserves. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:46, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Lions / Audley Freed

Just wanted to say thanks for answering my question. Beve (talk) 22:51, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

And congratulations on the great work you did on this article. Beve (talk) 19:06, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Crown of Creation

OK I changed the personnel to go with WP:ALBUM but to be closer to the original liner notes too -- Jorma being credited with both lead guitar and electric chicken. JoeD80 (talk) 21:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that about the album notes template. I didn't know that one existed. As for steel balls being Newton's Cradle, you can hear the clacking in "Chushingura" -- but I think there's a reference somewhere. I'll remove that link for now until I find it. JoeD80 (talk) 00:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Atomic Mass and Def Leppard

I still think that the member names from Atomic Mass deserve to be mentioned in the Def Leppard lineup page with a section "as Atomic Mass". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.225.14.190 (talk) 21:16, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Mainstream rock

Because its shorter and more succinct. All the meaning conveyed by "Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks" chart is the same in "Mainstream Rock" chart. indopug (talk) 22:02, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Black Crowes - The Late Show - 20010606.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:The Black Crowes - The Late Show - 20010606.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Stones

They're the only two albums to have this distinction while every other Stones article doesn't follow the vinyl side separations. I did it for reasons of continuity. BGC (talk) 01:59, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

BLACK CROWES

Last week I asked the cleaning lady if she could give the windows a little cleaning. She smiled at me and said, "I don't do windows"...kinda the same thing here. Mostly I do grammar, punctuation, sentence syntax, etc. Actually, I find the article well written and interesting to read. If I was gonna suggest something it would be to stick to the topic...the album LIONS. There is another Black Crowes page which I didn't read but I would imagine contains most of the info that is at the Lions article. Be Bold...chop, chop, chop! Pretend your doing an insert for the album...or....500 words or less...or both. Thanks for the asking but I've gotta tell you, with a smile...."I don't do albums"...Good Luck--Buster7 (talk) 20:25, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I'll definitely look into it, but it probably won't be this week - sorry! Beve (talk) 17:30, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Congratulations! Beve (talk) 08:47, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

M-28 FAC

Thanks for that wonderful photo! I added some text to link the photo into the prose, feel free to expand upon it a bit. I'm also curious what you'd suggest for integrating some of the Fowler reference into the text. I remember that when I pulled that article it had something in it relating to the scenic nature of M-28 between Marquette and Munising. I did find a reference in Hunt's Guide directing travelers west from Munising to Marquette along scenic M-28, showing that is it called that by someone. Let me know what you suggest, or feel free to add something or edit the addition on Scott Falls to the Services section. 00:23, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah!

To make i more correct. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 13:13, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Systematic Chaos GA review

I've addressed your comments, hopefully I understood everything you said. I left a message about the Roadrunner info on the review page, see what you think. Thanks! Blackngold29 22:04, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey thanks for all the fixes. I'll be sure to keep them in mind next time. Good work! Blackngold29 02:37, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Fleetwood Mac album chronology

I always thought that compilation albums were not supposed to be part of the album chronology, and when I started those FM album articles I left them out. When someone else changed the infobox to include them, I wondered about it because The Original Fleetwood Mac isn't really a compilation album as such, but a sort of outtakes collection of previously unreleased material. It doesn't fall into any easy category, what do you think? Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:59, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

It's still an archival release. The point of the chronology (as best I can tell) is to illustrate the artistic development of a band. There was a discussion about this for The Allman Brothers Band and the consensus was to leave out all archival releases (compilations and retrospective live albums) but include "current" live albums, as they are an essential part of the unfolding story for that band. For Fleetwood Mac, I'd say include Fleetwood Mac in Chicago/Blues Jam in Chicago, Vols. 1-2 but leave out English Rose (album) and all the live albums. —Two Hearted River (talk) 00:14, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
I can see it's a complicated issue! In the US, English Rose was a chronological progression, but here in the UK, it was a rehash of then-recent stuff. I'm going to leave it to the infobox experts ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:47, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Heaven

Take a look, i'm not finished.--Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 07:22, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Two Hearted River! I have to go in just a moment, but when I come back later I'll take another look at the article, my apologies if I missed anything major! Thanks and have a nice day! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 17:11, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Where does it say a GA needs to be long and this article passes it addresses the main aspects of the topic --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 17:24, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
The article has been copyedited and fixed the rest of the problems. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 07:51, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Not bothering to work on it anymore, most of the GAs have the same problems, but i don't cear your personal reasons doesn't have anything to do with the GA. But as i said i'm not bothering anymore. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry you feel that way. I try to keep my "personal reasons" in line with the actual criteria for good articles instead of a comparison with other good articles (that may have been passed erroneously). That this mechanism exists for dealing with such articles points toward the danger in side-by-side comparisons. You seem more interested in racking up 's than in helping create a better encyclopedia, which is unfortunate for everyone. If you had addressed the remaining concerns to the best of your ability, I was prepared to copyedit the article to ensure it could remain a GA... —Two Hearted River (talk) 20:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about that last comment, i have a bad temper. Its a internet newspaper and rock on net is now considered reliable. You can use it on the FL. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 11:37, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Fixed the problems i think? --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 13:00, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Why don't you accept that the skole.net website is reliable when it is. It was used on the List of Bryan Adams awards at its nomination, why don't you believe me. And i don't need to explain the music video, its nothing to explain and its not a single guidline which sais i need to. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:27, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
See Bryan Adams discography which uses the skole.net site. Yes the FL Nomination failed but not because of that but of its need of a copyedit. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Looks to me like the nominations never got to the point where the sources were scrutinized. And no, you don't need to include a description of the video...but watch how easy it is: The video features Adams singing the song in a live concert setting; behind him, stacked video monitors show his band playing along. Video monitors also occupy each seat of the otherwise empty theater.
Removed the source and fixed all the problems. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:10, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
WhHY DID THE GA FAIL AND DONT REVIEW MY ARTICLES. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 10:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Work things out

First can you help me getting the Cuts Like a Knife article to GA status and heaven back to GA status. Oh and can you opload missing covers for the singles Back to You (song), Room Service (song), I Finally Found Someone, Straight from the Heart (song), This Time (song), Tonight We Have the Stars, This Side of Paradise (song), So Far So Good (song) for me. The reason why i ain't doing it is that i dont want to come in this copyright thingi and yes i'll try to be more co.operative. Thanks!!!! --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 11:10, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

User:BBHS

Hi. I saw you posted his IPs Special:Contributions/80.212.230.96 and Special:Contributions/88.89.54.132 to his talk page. I was just wondering how you discovered them, because I don't have a clue how to do any of that stuff! Regards, Matthewedwards (talk contribs  email) 17:44, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Many tks for the GA review of Station to Station and your kind words at the end. Since you raise the point of similar nominations, I wonder if you'd do me the favour of quickly assessing Hunky Dory, Lodger and Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) - reckon they're B-class but always prefer a peer to check that when I've largely written the article. As far as another GAN goes, I guess I'd be looking at what requires the least work, since I'm having to severely ration my time on the music-related stuff at the moment. If you have suggestions among the Bowie albums, let me know. They'd have to be pretty well up-to-scratch content-wise and only require the sort of fix-ups I did on Station for me to nominate though. A related one I find the most likely candidate now is in fact The Idiot - comprehensive and well-cited, if not to the same extent as Station since, as you've deduced, I kind of see that one as FA material for depth and breadth, even though it will need some further style and citation improvements to pass FAC. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 09:50, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

(Re)assessed the three Bowie albums. I just skimmed the articles, but it was obvious that they are sufficiently comprehensive for B-class status. They contain lots of formatting annoyances, though, which didn't appear to be your doing. I'll see if I can take care of those, at least. —Two Hearted River (talk) 13:10, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Tks mate. Re-reading them myself after some time, I see places where citations can be added or finetuned, as well as room for improvemment in prose and formatting, so I'll probably also do a bit of that in the near future. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 13:46, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your time with the article- I'll probably leave it as a B class, and work on her new album, announced a few days ago. J Milburn (talk) 19:54, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

The Sword GA review

Hey, you said that you could get some articles from Factiva for me to improve the The Sword article? I would love for you to do this, thanks a lot! Andre666 (talk) 07:19, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Sure...but let's do this over email. Click on "E-mail this user" in the toolbox on the left. —Two Hearted River (talk) 11:24, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply. I see no such link. Andre666 (talk) 20:55, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm...have you refreshed the page? The option for me to receive email from other users is definitely enabled, and I see the link on my page... —Two Hearted River (talk) 21:02, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
In the 'toolbox' I see 'What links here'; 'Related changes'; 'User contributions'; 'Logs'; 'Upload file'; and 'Special pages'; sorry. Email me if you like – andrepusey@hotmail.co.uk Andre666 (talk) 23:49, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

BBHS block evasion

Could you be a bit more detailed? I don't follow the connection between 80.212.228.54 and BBHS. If you could leave me a note on my talk page or respond here, that would be helpful... Thanks! --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:48, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind. I figgered it out. He will be blocked in short order. Later. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:52, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Two Hearted River, I have reviewed this article and placed it on hold for seven days. In my humble opinion, it's close to GA but there are a couple of things that need fixing first. Regards, Somno (talk) 09:24, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Congrats, I have promoted this article to GA. It was very easy to review an article by someone with such a good grasp of GA criteria, so thanks! :) Somno (talk) 03:24, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Number statements in music articles

Hi Two Hearted River - I'm afraid when I made the edit summary mentioning "MOS", I was half-heartedly using the term as a wikifying keyword rather than actually thinking it through and following one of the guidelines in the Manual of Style to make my change. From the last few music-related GAN reviews I've seen, including mine from several months ago, chart positions and such are either "#number" or spelled out as "number nine" (up to 10). I could be wrong, though, or standards could have changed a bit - if your recent album FA used "number" in all cases, that's cool, feel free to revert my edit then. Thanks for the notice, cheers! :-) JamieS93 03:39, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

I reverted my edit. Happy New Year! JamieS93 17:14, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
