PearBOT: Updating template caches (for portals) failure

PearBOT's task "Updating template caches (for portals)" failed to run per the configuration specified at Wikipedia:Bot activity monitor/Configurations. Detected only 0 edits in the last 3 days, whereas at least 1 was expected. If/when the issue is fixed, please change the section title (e.g. append " - Fixed") or remove this section completely. When that is done, this notice will be reposted if the bot task is still broken or is re-broken. If your bot is behaving as expected, then you may want to modify the task configuration instead. Or to unsubscribe from bot failure notifications, remove the |notify= parameter from the {{/task}} template. Thanks! – SDZeroBot (talk) 12:20, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Question from SoyokoAnis (16:21, 30 March 2022)

Can you link to sources in other languages? --SoyokoAnis - talk | PLEASE PING 16:21, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

@SoyokoAnis Yep, using sources in other languages is no problem! It is generally considered good practice to use English sources if they are of the same or higher quality, but that's by no means a requirement. Also it can be helpful to include the language in the citation. If you use citation templates this can be done by adding |language=language code. --Trialpears (talk) 12:24, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2022).

Guideline and policy news

Technical news

  • Access to Special:RevisionDelete has been expanded to include users who have the deletelogentry and deletedhistory rights. This means that those in the Researcher user group and Checkusers who are not administrators can now access Special:RevisionDelete. The users able to view the special page after this change are the 3 users in the Researcher group, as there are currently no checkusers who are not already administrators. (T301928)
  • When viewing deleted revisions or diffs on Special:Undelete a back link to the undelete page for the associated page is now present. (T284114)

New administrator activity requirement

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

  1. Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
  2. Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

Question from Lukpal (14:47, 26 April 2022)

Is there a page on this pokedex for Pokémon Legends Arceus I have not found one. --Lukpal (talk) 14:47, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

@Lukpal I don't believe so and that's probably intentional as Wikipedia is neither a game guide or an indiscriminate collection of information. When I was on my journey to Catch Em' All in Galar I used a Pokedex from Serebii and it looks like they've made one for Legends Arceus as well here. --Trialpears (talk) 15:53, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

3rd archiving bot

Hi, I believe you handle a lot of Wikipedia's archiving system. Were you aware the Cewbot can archive talk pages (see User talk:Kanashimi (history) and {{Auto-archive}}), and should this be discouraged? ― Qwerfjkltalk 20:51, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
