ANI Experiences survey
The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.
The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:
If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Response
Just as note to let you know I did see your post, DAB or dab is a fairly common short form used for disambiguation which I personally have been using without issues for almost 10 years. Ulric1313 (talk) 17:35, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Ulric1313: Oops, I forgot, dab is also a semi-common edit summary for nonsense edits by vandals, so when I saw an editor using "dab" as their only edit summary I thought it was a joke. Sorry about the confusion. Tornado chaser (talk) 17:39, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
Stephen C. Meyer Ph.D
Give the man his honours, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelrm1256 (talk • contribs) 20:38, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Michaelrm1256: Wikipedia dosen't use honorifics like Dr. in names of anyone, and the lead of an article dosen't start by listing a persons degree(s), this is nothing against Stephen C. Meyer and just standard practice in wikipedia. His degrees are listed in the biography section, where they should be. Tornado chaser (talk) 14:39, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
Slow down at AIV
You've recently nominated 3 users at AIV who haven't edited in hours, and none of them has edited since being warned. Blocks are not supposed to be issued for users who voluntarily stop editing. Focus your work on current threats, not on old users who aren't currently causing problems. --Jayron32 02:43, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Re Blacksands Pacific and Raheem Brennerman
There has been no press release yet, but BRENNERMAN was convicted of the charges which I stated on 12/6/2017 after a jury trial. This is a fact and beyond dispute. And this pertained to the Blacksands Pacific group as well, for which I got the same nastygram. Go on PACER or otherwise check it out. Its a shame you did not vet this individuals original claims listed on his wiki page, which certainly contributed to the success of his original crime. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:2605:BB00:8C33:4911:A438:3CDA (talk) 00:57, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- You MUST cite a reliable source for anything negative or controversial that you post about a living person, see WP:BLP, and feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Tornado chaser (talk)
Revdel
A few things: EEng is not an admin, so he can't revdel content. If you come across any content that qualifies RD2, you should not post it publicly, because it could very well qualify for suppression. The best thing to do is to email a user who has been online recently and is in Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to handle RevisionDelete requests or to email the oversight team directly if the material is potentially libelous. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:58, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- @TonyBallioni:I have problems with my email, and I thought EEng was an admin, another admin had told me to post things needing revdel on an admin's talk page. Tornado chaser (talk) 02:46, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- Content that is RD2 and involves violations of the biographies of living persons policy should generally not be requested on-wiki, especially if that content is potentially libelous and might merit suppression under the oversight policy. It will get dealt with, but it is normally better to do in private. If you think the content might need to be oversighted, it is possible to email the oversight team directly at
oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org
without having to enable the email feature on-wiki. You can also log into the Wikipedia IRC channels and request revision deletion from administrators that way. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:01, 10 December 2017 (UTC)- The email problems I was referring to have to do with my regular email server, not the wikipedia email feature, if I encounter RD2 meterial again is it better to leave it in the page history rather than post it to an admins talk page?. @TonyBallioni:. Tornado chaser (talk) 03:10, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- I'd recommend creating a Wikipedia-specific email address through gmail or another free web-based email service. This also has the advantage of not being tied to your real identity. If you don't want to do that, you can use #wikipedia-en-revdel connect and ping an admin using
!admin
followed by the diffs that need rev del. If you need suppression, it should be dealt with in that channel by posting!oversight
and waiting for someone to private message you. I suppose what I'm getting at here is that the material we are talking about here was potentially libelous, and every oversighter I have ever talked to would prefer the material wait a bit for an admin or oversighter to respond then for more attention to be drawn to it on-wiki (see the Streisand effect). If you are the person who sees it, of course you should report it, but it should be done in a way not to draw attention. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:25, 10 December 2017 (UTC)- @TonyBallioni: Thanks. Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences
Hello, the changes where taken direcly from the official website of amritahospital.org as original stated by HH Mata Amritanandamayi. Since the core principle of the hospitals and the institutes is to dedicate their service for uplifting human sufferings and to provide first class medical services as well for financial weak patients, this crucial information is missing so far. - You should see WP:citing sources, all content needs a citation. Also, I don't think the text you added complies with WP:NPOV, as it seems to have a promotional tone (eg "first class medical services"), feel free to ask me if you have questions. Tornado chaser (talk) 00:31, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Question out of ignorance
I'm trying to set up archiving by month on my Talk page and Sandbox page, but it looks like I got something wrong or left something out. If you have a few moments, would you mind taking a look at it and giving instructions on how I can fix it; or let me know where I may go to ask such questions. Thanks C. W. Gilmore (talk) 23:11, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- @C. W. Gilmore: I don't know how to do automated archiving, what I do is create an archive file, and then cut and past what I want to archive from my talk page into the archive file.

Regarding my edit on Parents' Worship Day Page
I edited the article my maintaining neutral point of view only. I had added proper references of news websites for each and every point that I added. Still you have reverted my entire edit. Please let me know why? Thanks. AmSeema (talk) 17:06, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- @AmSeema: Because the stuff you added contained phrases like "Parents Worship Day is the turning point for humanity" which clearly expresses an opinion, wikipedia must not be written in an opinionated way. WP:NPOV dosen't mean write whatever the news says, if the source you cite is written with a bias you still have to write in a neutral way on wikipedia. The part of your edit that was not biased was about pregnancy and STDs, so it seemed quite off topic in an article about a day to respect your parents. Tornado chaser (talk) 17:13, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Tornado chaser: Okay, I agree that I shall not write words like, "turning point for humanity" etc. However, the points about STD etc are not off-topic because the very idea behind celebration of "Parents Worship Day on 14th Feb" is to avoid the celebration of Valentine's Day as it leads to teenage pregnancy etc. So, now I am planning to edit the article again by removing sentences like "turning point for humanity" but I will retain points about teenage pregnancy, STD etc. Hope that is fine. AmSeema (talk) 17:18, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- @AmSeema: Do you have a reliable source that says Parents Worship Day is intended to avoid teenage pregnancy and STDs or that Valentine's Day leads to these issues? Tornado chaser (talk) 17:28, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Tornado chaser: Refer http://fox6now.com/2013/02/13/united-way-launches-teen-pregnancy-prevention-campaign-for-valentines-day/ http://www.newindianexpress.com/states/odisha/2011/feb/15/indianisation-of-valentines-day-227757.html
- http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/worship-parents-on-valentines-day-asaram-bapu/1/171080.html https://www.unicef-irc.org/publications/pdf/repcard3e.pdf AmSeema (talk) 17:57, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- @AmSeema: The Indiatoday reference dosen't talk about pregnancy or STDs at all. I didn't look at www.newindianexpress.com, as this site gave me some kind of scam, not a news article. The Fox reference said a teen pregnancy prevention program was timed to be on Valentine's day, but it didn't say that valentines day leads to pregnancy, saying this based on these sources would be WP:OR. Namat ullas poetry .
I am a Muslim and I know Islam . And therefore I was editing about that Muslim saint's poetry .
- @Sikander.sardar.1: All edits to wikipedia need to have a neutral point of view, and they must also cite a reliable source. Your edit did neither, your opinion of someones poetry does not belong in an encyclopedia, let alone in ALL CAPS. Tornado chaser (talk) 17:48, 19 December 2017 (UTC)

I shall ask you . His poetry was divine . And I always have a neutral point of view . Bro ! His poetry had the secrets unsolved mistries and information about the world till the end of this world . He told names of kings which came 4 to 6 centuries after him ..
Sikander.sardar.1 (talk) 17:54, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Sikander.sardar.1: This doesn't change the fact that you need to cite a reliable source and no, your edit did not have a neutral point of view. Tornado chaser (talk) 18:02, 19 December 2017 (UTC)

Added to Joe Galat's biography that he does not believe in CTE or any limitations to youth participation in tackle football.
Every single line of a person's biography should not require a reference citation. For example, there is a line that Joe was a student at U. Miami. Did you require proof of enrollment before that assertion?
Nonetheless, you removed an edit that added Joe Galat's does not believe in the science behind CTE. The "proof" is his own "President's Corner" position statements he mails out, and which can be found on his website, AYF.com
Here is the link to the article in which Joe state's his position on CTE. The wiki edit made a fair summary of his position as he did not believe in CTE - in fact, he mocks it - but that characterization was omitted. A man leading a YOUTH FOOTBALL program as its president should also have it stated in his biography that he does not believe in CTE.
Please re-insert the edit you censored. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.205.128.226 (talk) 14:05, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- To avoid malware, I don't click on links to sites I don't know sent to me by people I don't know, could you tell me where to look rather than just sending a link? The reason I removed your edit was because it had no references, per WP:V everything that is added should have references, if any part of the article doesn't, this is an error in the article, not a sign that it is good to add more unsourced content. Per WP:BLP, any unsourced controversial or negative content about living people must be removed immediately, this is why I am more concerned with the statement you added than with uncontroversial things like where he went to college. I am not trying to censor, if you find a reliable source for the content you are adding, you should be able to add it. Tornado chaser (talk) 14:24, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- How do I send you the original email or PDF or image thereof - as proof of the source? I don't see an upload button. The best place to look is the article written by the man himself, every month, called "President's Corner". In this case, dated December 2017. Can I forward you the email? If you feel uncomfortable opening a link, may I suggest using any off the shelf anti-virus malware product that comes with a sandbox function? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.205.128.226 (talk) 16:59, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying that it was the December 2017 issue, I found it on the baker county AYF fackbook page[3]. However, what you wrote is not supported by this source, nowhere does he say he "believes all children, regardless of age, should be playing tackle football, without limitations to protect their health and safety" this is WP:OR. Also the source you cite doesn't say that he did or didn't issue any particular policy, and you wrote in a non neutral tone that was clearly intended as criticism, rather than an unbiased statement of fact. Tornado chaser (talk) 18:39, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Of course it's criticism. If you read the article, he attacks CTE science. Perhaps you can suggest a neutral way to present the fact that the President of AYF Football ridicules CTE science. This is not about a "policy" - this is a wiki biography about a person, and that person wrote something. So I believe I should be free to present his own words in an individual's biography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.204.8.202 (talk) 23:56, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- I did read the article, the neutral way to say this would be to directly quote him, as in: Joe galat wrote "(quote here)", however, I am concerned that even this would be WP:UNDUE. Tornado chaser (talk) 00:31, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
