Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. The Evolution of Fantasy Role-Playing Games
I've been using "The Evolution of Fantasy Role-Playing Games" by Michael Tresca as a source today. I think you added it to the Dwarf article last month, but I noticed it was used on some D&D video game articles as well, so I've been sharing it around (I'm not done yet). I've only got access to the free online copy, so there is a lot missing that I can't use it for right now, but I'm going to do what I can with it. Since we happen to be working on the video game articles anyway, it's convenient that this is the section available online! I just wish there were more sources like this out there! :) BOZ (talk) 20:27, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, that's a nice one. I tried adding an article by Tresca (www.examiner.com/article/gen-con-2012-keynote-the-future-of-dungeons-dragonsan) to The Sundering article when I created it, but Examiner is blacklisted. He seems like he would qualify as an expert and reliable source even being on that site though. —Torchiest talkedits 20:40, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- I agree! By the way, nice work on finishing up the enormous copyedit on that list article! BOZ (talk) 17:05, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012
I could use your input again here reguarding the article size issue again: Talk:Statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012#Three-way race article? Both the Statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012 article and the one that has the early statewide polls is at over 200,000 characters. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:56, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Dragonlance characters
I didn’t see any hits for the Knights of Solamnia in HighBeam, but do you think any of these would be useful?
I didn’t find anything that looked good in HighBeam for other major characters like Caramon Majere, Lord Soth, Sturm Brightblade, Dalamar, Flint Fireforge, Tanis Half-Elven, Laurana Kanan, Riverwind, Kitiara uth Matar, or Tika Waylan. BOZ (talk) 15:58, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Heh, yeah, HighBeam was the first place I went when I saw that AfD for the Knights. As for the ones above, the Tasslehoff one is trivial, just saying he's the main character in a story. The Goldmoon one actually has a pretty good little nugget about multiple writers working in the same fictional world and accidentally killing her off. I'll see about adding that in. The first Raistlin source is also trivial, and the second is borderline, might be able to squeeze a bit of plot summary out of it. —Torchiest talkedits 16:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- OK! I restored Goldmoon and Raistlin Majere. The funny thing about Goldmoon is that her article actually used to be a GA, but that was passed back when standards were looser, and a later GAR found the article lacking. We have always believed that Raistlin had the most potential of the Dragonlance characters, even if it's not yet showing. BOZ (talk) 16:17, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oh definitely. He's basically the Dragonlance guy. And I just added that Goldmoon source to the list, darn it lol. —Torchiest talkedits 16:19, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- LOL, oops? :) BOZ (talk) 16:28, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I added the Raistlin source to the Dragons of the Hourglass Mage article, but I'm having trouble again seeing where to add it in his fictional history. —Torchiest talkedits 16:37, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- As near as I can tell, this would best fit in under the section "Involvement in the War of the Lance", between the second and third paragraph, since DotHM takes place after he gets the black robes, and during the War of the Lance. BOZ (talk) 16:54, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Good work! Probably even more important than the character articles is that you were able to add a source to the Dragons of the Hourglass Mage article, which was previously unreferenced. Do you think that source could add anything to Takhisis? BOZ (talk) 18:41, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Not much, but it's done. That source is working hard haha. —Torchiest talkedits 18:45, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, we have to put these sources to work! That’s what they’re there for. ;) BOZ (talk) 19:04, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Speaking of putting a source to work, it looks like this one may contain some good info for Christie Golden and Vampire of the Mists - [5]. Now there seem to be a lot of pages like these on HighBeam; from what I can see they are bios of various authors, with lists of their works, and sometimes other info. This one appears to describe some of her books in more detail, so I think we can make use of it. I have seen quite a few articles(?) like this on HighBeam, so maybe later after we make more progress with the video game stuff we can go through those and see what’s good. BOZ (talk) 19:04, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- OK, having clicked on Contemporary Authors, I have a better idea of what that source is all about. Like I say, I have seen numerous pages on HighBeam like this one for Ms. Golden – at some future point I'll have to compile them so we can go through them one by one. From the search engine, I get the feeling that this one can also help with Dance of the Dead (Ravenloft novel) and The Enemy Within (novel); would any other D&D articles be improved with this source? BOZ (talk) 19:47, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Whew, those are bare bones! There was a lot of good info about Dance, but nothing about Enemy. —Torchiest talkedits 19:54, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, oh well – I thought I saw more in there on "Enemy Within", but maybe I was mistaken. Good work on "Dance of the Dead"! BOZ (talk) 20:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Whew, those are bare bones! There was a lot of good info about Dance, but nothing about Enemy. —Torchiest talkedits 19:54, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
OK, last one for the day (for the week, if you prefer). Are these any good for the film Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, or any of the characters that appear in it? [6] [7] BOZ (talk) 20:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- The first one is a trivial, one sentence summary of the entire plot. The second one is a little better, but it's more about the company than the movie, and it was tough to reference any of the specifics in the plot with the very broad description in the source. I did what I could with it though. —Torchiest talkedits 20:11, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Diablo 3 article
I added directly from the article and sourced the information, I did not cite it as a review but as a significant piece of information regarding the already mentioned review, should you feel the need to revert again please note.
Undue weight applies to more than just viewpoints. Just as giving undue weight to a viewpoint is not neutral, so is giving undue weight to other verifiable and sourced statements. An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject, but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unnamed101 (talk • contribs) 00:44, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- People had seen the review scores for Diablo III on Metacritic, the disappointment on Amazon, the rage on the forums, the outcries on Reddit, the anger on N4G and everywhere else in between and instantly ran wild with "Oh noes, the internet exploded in rage again",
that is quoted directly from the article, and telling what "reviews" gave a 0/10 are highly relevant and help users understand where and what that reception is talking about.Unnamed101 (talk) 04:29, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

DR/N opening statement
While I did not hide your opening statement (you did not use an editor's name) this gets a little close to discussing the editor and not the dispute. If the dispute is entirely about conduct the case will be closed as the wrong venue.--Amadscientist (talk) 01:34, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- There was overlap with conduct initially, but since they haven't continued edit warring, I think DRN will be the appropriate venue. I've never participated at that page before, so I'm not familiar with the procedures. I don't think there will be much to discuss, however, since it's a pretty clear case of all editors except one trying to follow policy. —Torchiest talkedits 01:39, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
September drive query
Hi, I am currently engaged in copyediting drive articles for September and I am unsure what to do with an article that I can no longer work on, due to my inability to access material for suitable citations. That is, I am unable to complete the article.--Soulparadox (talk) 08:34, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- Copy editing articles does not necessarily require adding new citations. You are of course always welcome to do as much work as you want, but strictly in terms of the goals of the copy editing drive, the aim is to fix problems with the writing itself, not find sources for the entire article. Many articles we work on are still far from complete after being copy edited. I hope that answers your question. If not, can you give me a link to the article you're having difficulty with, so that I can take a look at it? Thanks. —Torchiest talkedits 13:30, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- And I just realized I inadvertently completed at least one of the articles you were working on, Eddie Trunk, without realizing it. Sorry about that; you can take the full credit for it. —Torchiest talkedits 19:17, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the assistance Torchiest!--Soulparadox (talk) 02:01, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
HighBeam for D&D articles (part 2)
Hey, I don't know if you were done with that source you were using for Baldur's Gate, but did you ever get a chance to look at this one for Ian Livingstone (and possibly a number of other D&D, RPG, and VG related subjects)? I think I snuck that one in there a little too stealthily. ;) BOZ (talk) 19:33, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, the source I used in BG has a lot of good information for a few other contemporaries like Diablo II and a couple Wizardry games, but those aren't high on my list of articles to work on. I forgot about the Livingstone article. It has a lot of good information about him and a little about Deathtrap Dungeon and some of his other games. A lot to digest in it, which I remember now is why I passed over it the first time lol. I'll see what I can do with it. —Torchiest talkedits 19:49, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- Great! :) You can always mine it for what it's worth for what you want to work on right now, and then maybe add it to a "to-do list" for things to work on later? BOZ (talk) 14:09, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Much better! Livingstone is too important of a figure in the RPG industry to be as poorly sourced as he was. He could still use some additional sources, but that's still a big improvement. :) BOZ (talk) 16:11, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
Hey, if you have some time now that the copyedit drive is over, would you like to have a look at a few bio articles?
- When I restored the article, I left several HighBeam links at Talk:Don Bingle
- Christopher Kubasik was at AFD a while ago and was just barely improved enough to be saved, but I found several more articles for him (yes, this is him, based on his LinkedIn profile): [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]
- How about this one for Doug Kovacs? [15]
- Jeff Crook might have some good stuff: [16] [17]
BOZ (talk) 03:34, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yup, those are on my list for this week. :) Check dwarf when you have a chance too. —Torchiest talkedits 03:45, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- Got some blood from a stone on the Kovacs reference. —Torchiest talkedits 21:54, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- There was a lot of overlap in the Kubasik sources, but I got a few good bits out of a couple. —Torchiest talkedits 22:08, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Great! I knew there was some room for improvement with Kubasik. BOZ (talk) 22:24, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Took care of Crook as well now. Those two sources might be enough to create an article for his murder mystery novel, as a matter of fact. —Torchiest talkedits 21:49, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome! :) That sounds like a good idea. As for Don Bingle, I believe the second link I listed on the talk page has since been added to the article, just to save some time with that. BOZ (talk) 14:19, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- Bingle is done now too. Whenever you're ready, start a new section with the next batch of articles! :) —Torchiest talkedits 21:14, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- You got it! To keep it rolling on bios for now, I've been looking at D&D articles with the {{BLP sources}} template on it - I'll get a list together mometarily, but Larry Elmore has the most hits so far – maybe something useful will be in here? There is already one source on the article which appears in HighBeam and could have more info. [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] [25] BOZ (talk) 21:21, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- I see some of those sources were at least a little bit useful - anything with some meat on it? BOZ (talk) 22:30, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- The first half of them were mostly just mentioning him at various Cons, events, signings, and such. Haven't looked at the second half yet, but here's hoping. —Torchiest talkedits 22:35, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- And you got some use out of all of them – that's a good sign! I suspect you will get some good use out of the 5th listed source. :) Also it looks like this one was already in use in the article, in case you want to have another look at it. BOZ (talk) 23:02, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Most of the rest were the same thing, minor convention announcements. I found a couple little bits. That article already used is quite nice though. I'll take a look at it. —Torchiest talkedits 17:40, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, excellent work! I removed the tag based on the sources you added. Are you ready for more, or do you think you wanted to do more with Larry? BOZ (talk) 18:13, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- I'm gonna take another look at the Elmore article. There was at least one other bit I thought worth adding, but I can't remember where it was. —Torchiest talkedits 20:52, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

KMFDM
I noticed KMFDM at WP:FAC and read the article. I had always thought it stood for "Kill Motherfucking Depeche Mode". Thanks for correcting a misconception I've held for over a decade now - it turns out that they were just making fun of people who don't read German. Much appreciated, and good luck with the FAC. - Hahaha, it's a very common misconception! I only recently (about 2-3 months ago) found a source with a nice comprehensive story of the creation of the name. Thanks for the kind words though. My fingers are crossed. —Torchiest talkedits 01:04, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

I have added a reference to an article from the Santa Cruz Metro to the article on Ed Sams. It supports the claims made in the article. Will this suffice?

Participation: Out of 41 people who signed up this drive, 28 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing July, August, September and October 2011 from the backlog. This means that, for the first time since the drives began, the backlog is less than a year. At least 677 tagged articles were copy edited, although 365 new ones were added during the month. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2341 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 54 requests outstanding before September 2012 as well as eight of those made in September. Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the August 2012 competition, and prizes will be issued soon. The September 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The October 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote. – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest. Hey Torchiest,
Thank you for the review. I have been off-wiki for a few days; should be on this weekend and I will address every point you made for promotion. - Theornamentalist (talk) 00:53, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yod (astrology), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Leo, Libra and Pisces (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
