Admin noticeboards
Please read my replies on both noticeboards. What you wrote implies that I am forum shopping, while this is definitely not the case. 87.69.176.81 (talk) 11:02, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- What I wrote was a bald statement on each board that there was a discussion on the other one. If you care to read implications into that, that's your affair. Tonywalton Talk 21:59, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- You wrote that it was the same discussion. This leaves about zero doubt. 87.69.176.81 (talk) 00:19, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Tony. All sorted now :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 13:37, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah but.....
Yes, second imposter in a few days. But what now? If I voice my suspicions I risk being "blocked for disruption" according to User:Mr.Z-man. Kaiwhakahaere (talk) 00:25, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Joe Castillo Dr. ?
You have tagged the socks of Joe Castillo Dr. ? (talk · contribs) but that account doesn't seem to be blocked. Am I missing something? Colin°Talk 20:40, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

- It may be that his IP rotates the last two didgits based on some edit history. From what i can find the edits that appear together with ips start with 69.116.xxx.xxx you might be able to do a range block thats temporary?Ottawa4ever (talk) 15:09, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Since he's boasting that he'll use his school, local coffee shop and library I'd guess those are three separate ISPs. 69.116.*.* covers some 65000 addresses. It might be worth mentioning at WP:AN/I for someone more knowledgable than me at rangeblocking to take a look. Tonywalton Talk 15:17, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- A check user on his sock drawer might give a few more IPs that could narrow a IP range. Dont know the process on that myself. Im assuming theres a sock puuptry case open already? Temporarily blocking the school i think will discourage him. Ottawa4ever (talk) 15:33, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

I had a question for you, if I wanted a comment on a section of an article to see if it would be considered trivia. where do i find the scripts for that?HellinaBucket (talk) 21:29, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean. If you want to put a comment into an article so it's visible on editing but not in the article as it appears when read, you need to use HTML comments
<!-- like this -->
- If what you mean is to discuss whether a part of an article is appropriate the article's talk page is probably the best place, and/or you could ask on an appropriate Wikiproject if the article falls under a project's remit. Have you a specific example? Tonywalton Talk 21:34, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Yes, thde article the great brain. the history section specifically however the most of thee article is in bullet form. Strikes me s trivia.HellinaBucket (talk) 21:37, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
I mean the code if I want someone to come and comment on the article.HellinaBucket (talk) 21:38, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I see what you mean. If I were you I'd bring this up on the talkpage; you could also be bold and do some cleanup yourself. You might like to take a look at the tags here for cleanup tags; many of these put the article in categories of "articles requiring cleanup" of various sorts. It's usual to say on the talkpage what your concern is if you use one of these. One last thing, if you mention an article in a talkpage like this, it makes life easier if you reference the article thus: The Great Brain so it's easier for lazy gits like me to find the article you're talking about ☺ Cheers, Tonywalton Talk 21:54, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you Tony I will do my best!97.112.174.179 (talk) 22:27, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Re: HellinaBucket, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?
(I'm striking part of the title of this section after reading your "never edit sober" doctrine. This both reminded me that people make mistakes, and that wikipedia should not be taken seriously. Thank-you, but still, please read the rant that I left earilier, which is below) VegKilla (talk) 22:36, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Do you have ANY reason to unblock this user, other than their promises to change?
This user was INDEFINITELY blocked for actions earlier TODAY. I'm busy in real life; I need more time to mount a case against them!!!
I haven't even had a chance to copy and paste everything into one document yet because the harassment and vandalism on HellinaBucket's behalf was so verbose and spread over so many pages. How dare you undermine the administrator who imposed this indefinite block! If you are telling the truth about that admin's collaboration with you, then why didn't the exact same admin who imposed the block remove it! You are (accidentally) assisting HellinaBucket in circumventing the normal processes.
Your actions in negligently and inadvertently supporting this vandal are inexcusable. YOU MUST EITHER undo what you have done and remove yourself from this issue, or familiarize yourself with the endless pages of discussion about HellinaBucket, and with HiaB's contribs, and then re-evaluate your position.VegKilla (talk) 22:01, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. Your reason for unblocking this user seems to have been that the user apologized, but in case you didn't notice, this user was blocked for refusing to stop apologizing!VegKilla (talk) 22:03, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Reply
I have "undermined" nobody. The decision to unblock was taken with the full knowledge and approval of the blocking admin. Please cease to make baseless accusations of wheel-warring, for a start. The relevant discussion is at User talk:HellinaBucket, including the blocking admin's agreement to an unblock. Why Blueboy96 didn't unblock I have no idea and I suggest you take it up with them rather than throwing around off-colour accusations of negligence.
Per policy HellinaBucket has expressed contrition, understanding of why they were blocked, and stated that they will not repeat the behaviour leading to the block.
I suggest that rather than using your time to throw around accusations verging on personal attacks on my talkpage you make time, if you wish, to "mount a case" against them. What sort of "case" this may be is up to you, but I suggest an WP:RFC. If you wish to complain about my unblock please feel to do so in the appropriate place. Nothing in my unblock was, as you accuse, "negligent" or "circumventing the normal process" - it is quite normal for an admin to reverse a decision made by another if consensus is reached.
I also take exception to your implication that I am lying ("if you are telling the truth about [the other] admin's collaboration with you" above) and invite you to strike the above comment as an egregious breach of policies on assuming good faith and personal attacks.
If you intend further posting on this page I should be grateful if you would cease making such accusations and refrain from scribbling <big> tags over it.
Regards, Tonywalton Talk 22:40, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have read through all (except the most recent, and by recent I mean hours, not days) of HellinaBucket's contribs. I find it hard to believe that, if you had done the same, you would be having this discussion with me. I shouldn't blame you for not reading every contribution the user had made, but I have read every contribution (except the most recent ones, which I haven't had time to yet, and by recent I mean hours, not days), and I am appalled by how many respectable people this user has tricked. You are at least the second (first was User:Orangemike) who has inadvertently assisted this vandal.
- Although I do not blame you for not reading every contrib this user has made, I do blame you for supporting the unblock of this person so quickly. The block essentially did nothing since its persisted for what only amounts to a minute fraction of the amount of time that this user has spent harassing me. If you had waited longer, then I would have a document for you that shows this user's consistent maliciousness all on one page, and you would have no need to even be expected to read all of the user's contribs.VegKilla (talk) 22:53, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- Read through the recent contribs. Then reflect on the fact that blocking is not punitive, it is to prevent disruption. If an editor "goes straight" they are welcome, if they stay "straight" as they are no longer disruptive. HellinaBucket appears well aware that they are under scrutiny, by myself and by other admins, and I have warned him explicitly that further breaches are not acceptable. I have advised him to read WP:LASTWORD and WP:LETGO; you may care to read these too. I am still awaiting an apology for your accusations that I am a liar, both here and on User talk:Blueboy96. Wembley
Thanks for your message. What a strange day. Wembley was stunning, but the performance was something quite dissimilar. Very disappointing really. Suppose I've got some pics to add like. :( Mattythewhite (talk) 14:53, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Re: Man? Woman?
Is there a way I can change the username to clear up that confusion? I haven't decided to yet but it might help clear up the confusion.HellinaBucket (talk) 22:57, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- In other circumstances I'd just suggest registering another account and using that instead. Given the current drama about your recent history, though, that could well lead to accusations of sockpuppetry so may be a bad idea. "Live with it" is one option, or you could maybe craft a signature that makes it clearer. It's midnight in my timezone and I'm busy off-wiki tomorrow, so I'll get back later on that. Tonywalton Talk 23:10, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll live with it because I was already accused of sockpuppetry that's one way this started. ( I never use any account but this one)HellinaBucket (talk) 23:14, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again.HellinaBucket (talk) 23:18, 9 May 2009 (UTC) \ Sorry about that, thank you very much for your help I wanted one of those just like it.!HellinaBucket (talk) 23:43, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. See how consensus and collegiate editing works now? Abce12 assumed (wrongly, in this case, but it was a very fair assumption to make) that I'd made an inappropriate edit on your userpage and reverted it. I explained, you reverted the reversion. No drama, and we all learned something. Abce12 learned that sometimes vandalism isn't, you learned where some userboxes live, and I learned that I should use better edit summaries, when making what might be contentious edits. nice cups of tea all round, I think. Isn't Wikipedia grand! Tonywalton Talk 23:52, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
It is. It took the Grateful Dead concert in Denver thursday night to teach me how grand it was. The apology I wrote was thought of there.HellinaBucket (talk) 00:04, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Absolutely sorry to bug, Vegkilla is following me around and reverting edits I've made on articles. Specifically The article on Professional Bull Riders. I removed the info because it was trivia and not well wrote, however due to the level of scrutiny I am under I am very hesitant to do ANYTHING about it but would like to get someone elses opinion on the matter. Can you look into it at all? I would appreciate any assisance on this matter. Sorrr if you think the best thing to do is drop it let me know I DEF. do not want to be blocked again!HellinaBucket (talk) 09:59, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I posted the incident on the admin board. To be very clear though I didn't paste the warning template on his page as this could be twisted to further harrassment and I agreed to not post there again when you lifted my block.HellinaBucket (talk) 10:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Now he is following me to other talk pages and erasing my comments there. I have added an addendum to my admin notice board case.HellinaBucket (talk) 11:21, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
It's been problem free for a few days. Wanted to say Thanks, made my first article and now working on my second. check out the new article, Central High School (Pueblo)HellinaBucket (talk) 01:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Problem with unwanted edits
Hello Tony,
Someone has been editing the page of the film "The Mexican Dream" without my permission. To give you an example, on the plot section, someone changed the name of protagonist Ajileo for Julian. I changed it back to Ajileo, but I do not want to deal with this kind of problem anymore. What´s your suggestion on this matter.
Thanks. (SWwhite (talk) 14:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC))
