Chopper2cube

I noticed that bugs was onto user:Chopper2cube right from the start...almost too quickly. Is there any chance that he may be creating vandals, so that he can 'find' them? HannaGetmix (talk) 22:36, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

No, there is no chance. It was just good timing after chopper2cube turned up on ANI yesterday. P.S. The above is now indef'd also. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 00:13, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
It's someone pretending to be Axmann8 (with variants on that name), just like a month or two ago. The IP he posted in WP:ANI, could help in finally tracking that character down. The D.C. area location reminds me of one who was blocked back sometime in the winter. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 02:39, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Right.....

I tell you what I need it posted tildes, tildes, tildes. bad thing is, it is. Shhhh don't feed the hungry hippie..... Hell in a Bucket (talk) 00:14, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template

In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

Heck, I voted for the change, then missed the tag on my own userpage! Changed to {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} Tonywalton Talk 00:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello sir the article i made was put up for criteria for speedy deletion for no reason I don't think HellinaBucket understands CSD A3 very well. If you could look into to the matter. Thank you --ilamb94 (talk) 00:32, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

That "speedy delete" tag did appear inappropriate; I've removed it. Sometimes when people are tracking a large number of new articles it's possible that the wrong article gets tagged. Also "speedy delete" tags do just place articles on a list of articles for deletion which admins work their way through and can decline to delete inappropriately tagged articles, so it's not final. Apologies for that - please keep on working on the state of Kansas! Tonywalton Talk 00:42, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you sir --ilamb94 (talk) 00:44, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Peter Davies

Hi Tonywalton,

To clarify, I thought that the version of the page Peter Davies (politician) prior to my edit was somewhat biased *against* Davies. A lot of that was down to text which was not yours, so I'll restrict myself here to the following passage which you added:

One of Davies' first pronouncements as Mayor was to state that he would attempt to cut council funding to the Doncaster Pride Gay Pride event, saying "My policy on gays and lesbians is very simple. I don't think councils should be spending money on them parading through town advertising their sexuality."

I don't dispute that this is true, but I do dispute that it is neutral reportage. Specifically I feel that it conveys the impression that the writer disapproves of his statement. Whilst I think that's entirely reasonable, and I disapprove myself, I don't think that an encyclopedia article should convey such an impression, whether or not the authors actually held it. I think it should be factual both literally in that the text is not false, and in spirit, in that it should avoid value judgements about its subjects, explicit or otherwise.

I feel the same applies to many of the statements added by anonymous IPs in the immediate wake of his disasterous interviews on the BBC -- for example,

Davies also promised to "stop translation services for immigrants"

seems to me as though it picks the quote out for derision. And again it deserves derision, and again I feel it should be avoided here nontheless.

Chris Smowton (talk) 04:51, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I'll give you WP:UNDUE, however your conclusion that my addition was disapproving was, in fact, wrong (for what it's worth I agree with the stance - I can't quite see why any particular group, whatever it may be, should get public funding purely due to its members' sexuality). Just shows I'll never make a leader writer! It's moot now anyway as the proposal has, as I understand it, been withdrawn. Regards, Tonywalton Talk 22:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Request for help

Hi. In the area where I edit, there are some problems I would like to ask for your help with. Unfortunately, one of the "problems" is stalking me, so I would like to discuss this via email. However I wanted to ask first. I hope you will agree. Thanks in advance. 80.126.66.106 (talk) 12:16, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the slow response, I've been off-wiki for a while. Can you be more specific? Tonywalton Talk 22:34, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
