{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}} Hi Tony Webster,
Just a quick note to say I removed the speedy deletion tag from Tau Phi Sigma. Although the article has indeed been deleted several times before, it has always been speedily-deleted. The deletion tag you used, G4, only applies when an articles has been nominated for deletion at WP:AFD and been deleted as a result of a discussion there.
In my opinion a national fraternity is significant enough to be exempt from speedy deletion under A7 ("no claim of significance"). If you believe it should be deleted you might want to consider nominating it at WP:AFD, but in my opinion it would stand a good chance of being kept - it's probably notable under WP:CLUB. There is a whole wikiproject devoted to fraternities too, by the way.
Cheers,
Thparkth (talk) 03:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'll let someone else proceed on that page, but it had been deleted six times. It appears to be tagged with WP:NOTE among other things, but I'd love to see the article improved rather than deleted. Thanks! Tony Webster (talk / contribs) 16:52, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
You reverted my edit
Hi! First, I'm quite used to this, and I well understand. But my edits to species in the genus Dalbergia are not inconsequential, or whatever the term is. In any case, they are not vandalism--by definition, since they are good faith efforts to improve things. Without going into too much detail, the Category pages for various genera of living things are frequently garbled in their alphabetization. This is because various users have used different formats to the statements that add them the species to the genus category. I am simply trying to render these category pages into ONE consistent alphabet. When giving the binomial (scientific) name for a species, it is usual to give the Genus--the first term--capitalized, and then the species--the second term, with a lower case initial. On the category page for a given genus, alphabetizing all the species by the species name with lower case gives one consistent, easily read, list. Many people have questioned what I'm doing. Every one has seen the usefulness of it, once I've explained. A few people have even thanked and commended me, for doing a very tedious and repetitive task that does improve Wikipedia. 72.83.149.134 (talk) 20:51, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
- Hi Stephen, I apologize for mistakenly thinking your contribution was vandalism. I reverted my reversion back to yours about 15 seconds after I realized I misread your change. Please let me know if it didn't work. Tony Webster (talk / contribs) 20:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Everything seems fine, and I just finished the Category. No problem! 72.83.149.134 (talk) 20:56, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
Foot Hills
You're welcome, and thanks for the encouragement (18 down, 36 (redlinks) to go!). I feel as if I work in the periphery of the Wikipedia sphere where there is very little traffic, and am never quite entirely sure if anyone gets anything out of what I try to create. It's nice to know otherwise. > MinnecologiesTalk 23:50, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Kali Ann
Hello Tony Webster, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Kali Ann, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. I've retagged it as A7, no indication of notability. Thank you. Netalarmtalk 01:42, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. I'll agree that CSD A7 may have been a better criteria to select, but I selected CSD G11 because it was an article titled "Kali Ann," created by YourGirlKali (talk · contribs), with three links on the page to a Facebook profile, Twitter account and a self-published blog. That's a conflict of interest and promotional, in my opinion, because it was an autobiography written as a cross between an advertisement, blog post and encyclopedia article (such as, "Kali found herself loving to be on air"). Given that the article's effect was the promotion of both a person and that person's commercial activities, created by the subject of the article, I don't think I was wrong in my CSD selection, and perhaps it would have been a good case for db-multiple or should the article not have been a CSD matter, the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard. I'd love to hear your opinion if you disagree, however. The article has been deleted and assuming good faith, I left a welcome message on YourGirlKali's talk page with some links that should help with any future contributions. It looks like since then, the page was re-created and deleted again. Thanks! —Tony Webster (talk / contribs) 04:25, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm assuming your intent here was to open an AfD, not prod. I have gone ahead and opened an AfD and copied your deletion rationale. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reuben Joshua Poupko (2nd nomination). —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:14, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Smoo Cave
Regarding your recent revert on Smoo Cave: Sealord101's 'good faith edit' was actually vandalism. Check the page's history for this annoying repeat vandalism, mostly by the now-banned Quinch100. If Sealord101 persists (and s/he will), then report it. Ian mckenzie (talk) 11:12, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your edit. I wasn't trying to be partisan, I was just using a term found in the original article. --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 02:03, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Ways to improve White Park Bay
Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. Tony Webster, thanks for creating White Park Bay!

FYI
Hey, man. Just wanted to let you know that this...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jmchue
...is someone impotently trying to get back at me and lamely ruin my reputation. My Twitter handle is "jmchue." Whoever that person is can probably safely be blocked and the account shut down. JayHubie (talk) 04:14, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there, I'm not an admin, but I would suggest adding a response to the user talk page you mentioned, just as documentation. Of course, Jmchue (or anyone else) could remove it, but it will be in the history and easier to find than a comment on my talk page. That said, I'm sure the edit qualifies for REVDEL, which I will request and follow-up with you on. —Tony Webster (talk / contribs) 04:37, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks for the help! Truth be told, I'm not active here anymore, but I saw that particular edit (pretty disgusting with the two "death" lines) highlighted by a page on Twitter that auto-tweets when Minnesota politicians' pages are edited. JayHubie (talk) 05:23, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
