[edit]Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Short descriptions should start with a capital letter, please stop mass uncapitalizing them, see WP:SDFORMAT ‑‑Volteer1 (talk) 15:01, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi! Have you looked at the Wikipedia app? It deliberately recommends starting descriptions with a small letter unless the word is a name of course. It follows my logic too, unless you have a full sentence there. The page you linked contradicts with the official app's advice. ToniTurunen (talk) 07:41, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- It seems the capitalization suggested by the android Wikipedia app is wrong, and I have no idea why that is. I also have no idea where to suggest such a thing be fixed. It's not really your fault for believing the official app, to be clear, obviously that's the app's fault. ‑‑Volteer1 (talk) 17:12, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 19
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Melungeon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page European. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please don't use emojis in short descriptions (as you did here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here) as they are meant to be written in plain text (see WP:SDFORMAT), thank you! Felida97 (talk) 14:57, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
Hi ToniTurunen. I found your talk page while looking through the edit history at Ostankino Tower, and I saw this edit. I see you were directed to WP:SDFORMAT several days ago but are still adding nonstandard material to short descriptions. Can you please explain why you are making these changes? Replacing standard text with a tiny, difficult to read symbol (diff) or adding a flag into the middle of a city name (diff) doesn't make sense to me. Squeakachu (talk) 20:15, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. STOP adding typographic dingbats, emojis, or other unicode characters to short descriptions! Felida97 (talk) 21:57, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at William Ruto.
Since you still seem to have not gotten the message, as evidenced by repeated and recent disruptive changes: STOP using anything other than plain text, like unicode characters, typographic dingbats, emojis, etc., in short descriptions (see WP:SDFORMAT), as you did here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here or here (all changes made within the last month, after the recent block and previous warnings)! Changes like this are purely disruptive and you will be blocked again, if you don't stop! Felida97 (talk) 10:29, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, where is this conservative anti-emoji rule written at @Felida97? Willing to co-operate for sure. ToniTurunen (talk) 15:37, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- On the page that I linked, WP:SDFORMAT... Do you want me to give you the quote? "Each short description should [...] be written in plain text – without HTML tags, wiki markup, typographic dingbats, emojis, or CSS display manipulation". Also, while I'm glad that you're "willing to co-operate", don't make it sound like this is such an unusual rule or that this is somehow unknown to you. This rule is not any more conservative than the rules for other content on Wikipedia (see MOS:NOICONS), and you have been warned repeatedly (and even blocked) for this disruptive behaviour of yours (those warnings also already referenced WP:SDFORMAT). Literally every short description you've written in anything other than plain text has been reverted or corrected, often with editors remarking on the fact that emojis, etc. are not acceptable in SDs. How has that, the multiple warnings and the block not discouraged you from making those poor SD changes? Felida97 (talk) 18:13, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- You came across in an inappropriately hostile manner. Well thank you for pointing that out nonetheless because initially emojis were not prohibited from short descriptions. ToniTurunen (talk) 19:32, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, I can see that, wasn't entirely unintentional, but sorry about that nonetheless. However, the "plain text" rule has been explicitly mentioned in the same place on the short descriptions page since September 2020. You're correct that emojis were not explicitly mentioned until recently and the simple reason for that is that virtually everyone before you understood what is meant by "plain text"... And again, just to be clear, you have been made aware in mid-February that emojis, etc. are not "plain text", so it's not like this is the first time someone (or even me specifically) has pointed this out to you. Nevertheless, it's great to know that the message got through now and that you'll only write short descriptions in plain text going forward. Consequently, this shall be my last message on your talk page regarding this specific issue. Felida97 (talk) 12:06, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
