Lead Section Size

The lead section of a Wikipedia article is the section before the first heading. The table of contents, if displayed, generally appears between the lead section and the first subheading.

Rule of thumb: If a topic deserves a heading or subheading, then it deserves short mention in the lead.

The lead section should contain up to four paragraphs, depending on the length of the article, and should provide a preview of the main points the article will make, summarizing the primary reasons the subject matter is interesting or notable. The lead should be capable of standing alone as a concise overview of the article, should be written in a clear and accessible style, should be carefully sourced like the rest of the text, and should encourage the reader to want to read more. The following table has some general guidelines for the length of the lead section:

< 15,000 characters medium size > 30,000 characters
one or two paragraphs   two or three paragraphs   three or four paragraphs

An article you recently created, Museum of Modern Art Information and Photography, Senigallia, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks for your contributions to Church of Santa Filomena of Ugento. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and the issues highlighted by the tags on the page need to be addressed, sourcing of the accusations of rape etc is important. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 12:07, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Translating from Italian-language (or other) Wikipedia

[edit]

Tommasopaiano, it's pretty obvious that your creation Draft:Church of Santa Filomena of Ugento is actually a translation of it:Chiesa di Santa Filomena (Ugento). Copyright considerations require acknowledgement of the original. Please see Help:Translation#License_requirements, which tells you just how you should do this, but in short tells you that the acknowledgement should be made with the very first edit. An editor should not forget to do this; however, if it is forgotten then acknowledgement should be made as early as possible. -- Hoary (talk) 00:15, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
