Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Anyone (band), and I noticed that your username, "Togetherment", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Paid editing.
[edit] As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Togetherment, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Togetherment|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia.
Paid editing again
[edit]You still have not adequately responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying, you may be blocked from editing. Theroadislong (talk) 20:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sorry - I'm not familiar with wiki and it's a bit complicated. I think i successfully requested a name change and I believe you were able to add that i'm a paid editor (although I'm not paid, I simply help out). The band has an album out and I'm trying to figure out how to suggest it as a 'talk' item. again, my aim is to follow the rules to a letter :) thanks Togetherment (talk) 20:58, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Your user name is the name of the record company, you need to change it, if you work for them in any capacity even if just (helping out) you are deemed to be a paid editor and need to make the required disclosure. You have a very clear conflict of interest and need to make edit requests on the article’s talk page, using the request edit template and a reliable source. You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
