Speedy deletion of The Trance (The Twilight Zone)
[edit]A tag has been placed on The Trance (The Twilight Zone) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The Junction (1987) -- huh?
[edit]Does it really make sense to distinguish a TV series episode by indicating the year and not the name of the series? I was going to revert that change, but I thought I'd ask you about it first. To me, the year 1987 doesn't give a clue as to what it is -- it could be a movie, a book, or something else. How about changing it back to The Junction (The Twilight Zone)? --Auntof6 (talk) 03:34, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
The Junction (The Twilight Zone)
[edit]Can I ask you a question...? Have you ever tried to follow the link The Junction (The Twilight Zone)? When I did, it took me to the "list of all the Twilight Zone episodes". If you have an idea of how to change that...please by all means, tell me and I'll fix it. It was the only way I could get it to come up as something new (so that I can put the information when the episode comes on this weekend). And for one thing, I didn't change it. The page didn't exist to begin with. When I tried to create it, the link to that "list" is all it gave me. Tmkeffer71 (talk) 03:46, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, that can be annoying! It's currently a redirect page. If you want to make it a real episode page, you can edit the redirect page. Click on the link, and when it brings you to the page with a list of episodes, there should be a link near the top that says something like "redirected from The Junction (The Twilight Zone)". Click on the link in that, and it will take you back to the redirect page without actually redirecting you. Then you can replace the page content with whatever you want for the actual episode. Let me know if that helps! If you still have trouble with it, let me know and I can edit it with something bare-bones just to remove the redirect, then you'd be able to get to it. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I think I got it fixed, take a look...I don't have the entire synopsis or some of the other details because the episode doesn't air until Sunday night. Thanks for the help! Tmkeffer71 (talk) 04:14, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome -- looks like you got it. :) By the way, you might want to look at the discussion here. There a difference of opinion as to whether each episode should have its own article. I recently created several single-episode articles as well, but we might find our single-episode articles nominated for deletion at some point. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:23, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I had a discussion with a "watcher", or whatever, myself about it. I didn't create the list or the myriad of pages dedicated to each episode. I looked it up when my cable system started having the Chiller network and I wanted to know more about the 1985-1989 series. I have maybe created six or seven of episode pages of the first revival series that didn't already have pages...that doesn't include the original series, the movie, or the second revival from 2003, which I've not touched. I've only worked on the first revival and for most of those, all I did was add the narrations or clean up or flesh out the synopsis and add an external link to use as a reference. Those pages already existed. If the "powers that be" decide to delete them, please let me know. I will be happy to collect the info just for myself. Tmkeffer71 (talk) 04:34, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I don't promise to let you know (it could be way in the future when I've gone on to other things), but you can use the "watch" function to be notified about changes to any article you're interested in -- just click on the "watch" tab at the top of the page. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:27, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
