I think that you've done some good work so far. I looked at the article as it was before you first edited it, and you have done much to improve it. A four-month research project should yield a great article. NatusRoma | Talk 05:57, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The introduction that you have right now is pretty good. I would take away the sentence that says "In the field of number theory, he is one of the most rigorous and deep thinkers." That is an opinion statement that can't really be verified. The rest is good, though. NatusRoma | Talk 19:47, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner–I was in transit when you left me the last message. I would suggest putting back in some more about the proof of FLT. Also, there used to be something about Birch & Swinnerton-Dyer, but there isn't anymore. The list of awards is nice. I might do a little work on the article a little later. NatusRoma | Talk 03:10, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Regardless of your opinion on a template, there's never a reason to insult an editor, like you did here. Image in FLT article

[edit]

Your edit summary says: remove Diophantus-II-8-Fermat.jpg for it is shown twice so remove the one in area that is farest away from topic of image thus the intro. You haven't looked carefully at the images; they are not the same. One is the edition that Fermat read, with the margin where he supposedly wrote his proof. The second one is the version annotated with Fermat's comments, which is where the theorem was first mentioned. I am sure the way they are displayed could be improved (we could maybe have them one next to the other, or something like that), but they are both significant and deserve to be in the article. Edits on my talk page

[edit]

Just wanted to point out that while editing my talk page, you removed by mistake a completely separate section (see [1]). It was the weekly spam for the SignPost, so nothing too important, but better safe than sorry for the next time... Schutz 23:01, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In this edit, you removed my subscription to the Wikipedia Signpost spamlist; I don't really see how you can have done this my mistake, since you did not change anything else with this edit. Do you have an explanation for this ? Schutz 16:16, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I removed yours on purpose, because it seemed like you did not want it for you keep removing from your talk page. Timothy Clemans 04:54, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I should have asked you about it and now that I am thinking about it you did alert me to my mistake with the signpost removal on your talkpage. Well at least you found out that your name got removed. Timothy Clemans 04:58, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I remove it from my talk page once I have read the signpost. The goal of the subscription is to alert me (via the "You have a new message" box) of a new edition of the signpost, not to collect the table of content of all past editions. Schutz 22:55, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sagecontourplot.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Picture 32.png. The copy called Image:Picture 32.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Sagecontourplot.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Sagecontourplot.png

[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Sagecontourplot.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 06:16, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you get the idea that the image is not released under Creative Commons by-sa as the image's Flickr page says? That screenshot was made for http://code.google.com/p/google-highly-open-participation-psf/issues/detail?id=300 where the author clearly states that it is released under CC-by-sa. Nevermind, I finally found where you actually wrote what you were thinking. See http://code.google.com/p/google-highly-open-participation-psf/issues/detail?id=300 Timothy Clemans (talk) 06:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Fred Diamond

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Fred Diamond, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for File:King county medic one patch.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:King county medic one patch.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:32, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Timothy Clemans! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 175 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Fred Diamond - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 19:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of Medic One related research papers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOT#INDISCRIMINATE

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 17:07, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Seattle medic one intubation success rates.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:53, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:22, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Skepticsguide-banner.gif.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:42, 17 November 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 11:42, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
