Oldrfd template

Hi! I reverted your change to {{oldrfd}}; see my reasoning here. Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 22:01, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know and welcome back! I'll answer there. FWIW, my change was triggered by the Lord Byron thread above.--Tikiwont (talk) 18:05, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of page

I had seen a page that is now deleted; it was of Leipman Philip Prins. I see on the page that it is thought that he did not publish, well he did. He is therefore a legitimate entry (if I understand why he was deleted). Is it possible to restore the page so that I can update the source for his publications? Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.104.158 (talk) 01:11, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Liepman Philip Prins was originally deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Liepman Philip Prins. I'd say it was acknowledged that he has published something but what was missing were some independent published work about the person himself. See also our inclusion guideline for biographies. If you have some references (other than than an in-book bio from his newphew}[1] and an account, I'd restore it into your so-called userspace. --Tikiwont (talk) 18:05, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Tikiwont! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 35 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Rochelle Davis - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Rudolf K. Thauer - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Without the exact name of the deleted article, it is difficult to answer, but Ill post some general info on your talk page.--Tikiwont (talk) 21:43, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Well I found it but it is still advertising. And you should use only one account. Tikiwont (talk) 22:02, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

while you're on it, could you protect his talk page to prevent things such as this? Thanks, Throwaway85 (talk) 09:11, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

already done via block settings.[2].--Tikiwont (talk) 09:13, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah, thanks. I was looking for the protected symbol. I rpp'd it, I'll go remove that now. Throwaway85 (talk) 09:17, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I labelled the image uploads he made as best I could. As far as I can tell, they are all copyright violations. Thanks for handling him. Wildhartlivie (talk) 09:20, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks to both of you.--Tikiwont (talk) 09:27, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
FWIW, I found a copyright link for File:Anne Hathaway Havoc Pictures.jpg and marked it for speedy delete. Wildhartlivie (talk) 09:35, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:RfA transclusions

Hi Tikiwont. As of late, I have been making an attempt to clean out old, untranscluded RfAs. Upon finding one, I leave a standard message on the talk of the user who created it, checking to see if they still wish to use the RfA. I'll admit though, it is a bit overly pragmatic. At any rate, I think I'll modify my template to warn newbies as applicable. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 20:29, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

hi...I want to wright new article for Chemical Zone Padara.
I request to give good suggestions, and plz don't delete it...

I have very heard work bellow it....so plz don't delete.it.... Regards, Dr.Soft

Hi, I was going to create this article when I found a version had been previously deleted by you. Could you userfy a version? With a number of sources for award-winning films I could probably improve it suitably to ensure the article meets WP:ORG. Cheers Ash (talk) 14:01, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Sure. There is not much content, though. As it was deleted as expired proposed deletion I could also restore it directly to mainspace. Let me know.--Tikiwont (talk) 16:29, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
As there have been a number of somewhat ill-tempered discussions around PORNBIO lately, it may be more politic to userfy to my userspace just in case someone is tempted to speedy it before I've got around to adding some sources. Cheers Ash (talk) 16:33, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Done. At User:Ash/SX Video I'll mark it already as previously deleted per prod. Regarding the mentioned award, that already would prevent a speedy, it was at time of deletion a rather new one and I think also a redlink.--Tikiwont (talk) 16:39, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, now tarted up with new sources and de-userfied to mainspace. Feel free to tweak or tag for improvement as necessary. Ash (talk) 17:51, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for your help with Alfredo Duran. I was fearful everything would get deleted before I had a chance to post the entire thing.

Also, Alfredo Duran is Alfredo G. Duran, although most people will seek him as "Alfredo Duran" without a middle initial. How can I make the first words "Alfredo Gonzalez Duran" without messing up the big words up top? I tried to look this up, but I'm totally confused about redirects. Miss Ivonne (talk) 20:08, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. I changed the intro and created two redirects. See [3].--Tikiwont (talk) 20:22, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
and now also one for Alfredo Gonzalez Duran with a 'z'.--Tikiwont (talk) 20:50, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your response re deletion of Victoria Pynchon & 2 other articles, plus a question

Thanks for you response to the undelete filing. Also, What does "userfication" mean that you referred to on Brandon's talk page?--AuthorAuthor (talk) 23:45, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Basically, it means to restore the page but move it first to a subpage of yours, such as User:AuthorAuthor/Victoria Pynchon where you can improve it and move it back when it is ready. Wikipedia:Userfication has more details.Tikiwont (talk) 09:06, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

John Gaddi (Yohanan Gaddiy)

I found out a few days ago that you deleted this page (John Gaddi) for "vandalism". I'm wondering on what grounds. This man was a living breathing historical figure. He was one of the leaders of the revolt of the Maccabees in the Second Century BC. He was first mentioned with along with his father and brothers, in this way: "In those days Mattathias the son of John, son of Simeon, a priest of the sons of Joarib, moved from Jerusalem and settled in Modein. He had five sons, John surnamed Gaddi, Simon called Thassi, Judas called Maccabeus, Eleazar called Avaran, and Jonathan called Apphus." (1 Maccabees 2:1-5 RSV-CE)[1] The next reference is in the Jewish historical work 2 Maccabees. It is as follows: "With these words he (Judas) filled them with good courage and made them ready to die for their laws and their country; then he divided his army into four parts. He appointed his brothers also, Simon and Joseph and Jonathan, each to command a division, putting fifteen hundred men under each. Besides, he appointed Eleazar to read from the holy book, and gave the watchword, "God's Help"; then, leading the first division himself, he joined battle with Nicanor." (2 Maccabees 8:21-23 RSV-CE)[2] Just after this battle, as the Talmud[3], Josephus[4], 1 Maccabees 4:36-59, and 2 Maccabees 10:1-8; the brothers recaptured and rededicated the Temple of Jerusalem, starting the Festival of Dedication (or as it's more commonly known, Hanukkah.) The final references to John Gaddi are the events surrounding his death. This is the account found in 1 Maccabees: "And Jonathan sent his brother as leader of the multitude and begged the Nabateans, who were his friends, for permission to store with them the great amount of baggage which they had. But the sons of Jambri from Medeba came out and seized John and all that he had, and departed with it. After these things it was reported to Jonathan and Simon his brother, 'The sons of Jambri are celebrating a great wedding, and are conducting the bride, a daughter of one of the great nobles of Canaan, from Nadabath with a large escort.' And they remembered the blood of John their brother, and went up and hid under cover of the mountain."' (1 Maccabees 9:35-38 RSV-CE)[5] That's his story, I just needed you to know he was a historical figure, not "vandalism". (Although, I have to admit, his name is similar to the modern politican John Gaddis) Anthony Fisher (talk) 17:22, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Thank you very much for clarifying this. My mistake. Although the templated reason says vandalism, it was actually tagged as made-up (hoax) and somehow I didn't realize that the links supported it. My apologies. I've restored it.--Tikiwont (talk) 10:49, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

No harm done, I hadn't even heard of the Maccabees until about a year and a half ago, so again no harm.Anthony Fisher (talk) 01:10, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Deletion review for Legislative district of Bacoor

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Legislative district of Bacoor. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reyrefran (talkcontribs)

This request is incomplete and you didn't wait for a reply before continuing to recreate it. First, you need to contact Cirt. The full instructions are then at Wikipedia:DRV#Instructions. Probably best to to wait for more comprehensive and convincing info, though. There is no deadline. --Tikiwont (talk) 10:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC).

Slade etc

I have no view on what the primary page should be, but I do think that the talk pages should be with their articles. All the moving around has cast them adrift. At present, e.g., the band is at Slade and the talk page is at Talk:Slade (band). Talk:Slade redirects to Talk:Slade (disambiguation) etc... At the risk of having my watchlist flooded yet again, can you inspect and fix, please? Regards, BencherliteTalk 14:00, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks there was missing the one move of that bands talk page. Not sure about the etc.--Tikiwont (talk) 15:12, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
With the various redirects and unmatching pages, it looked more complicated than it was - it was just the one move after all. All sorted now, thanks. --BencherliteTalk 15:30, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks to you. Every one and then I pick up one of those innocent looking G6 moves from the CSD queue that ends up in a mess. The software could be more helpful, though, because it only advises you if the traget of page move is blocked, but not if the talk page move is selected as well, but its target is blocked.--Tikiwont (talk) 15:36, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

cfcuk

Hi

Refering to the decision to endorse the deletion of the cfcuk Cheslea fanzine page, I feel that a merge with the Chelsea FC page would fly in the face of what the cfcuk fanzine is all about. Each edition of the fanzine has the legend "Carefree, Blue tinted and 100% independent" printed on every front cover so, for the Chelsea FC page to have a section featuring the cfcuk fanzine would be a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Unfortunately for me, noone at Wikipedia who have endorsed the deletion of the cfcuk page seems to have any knowledge whatsoever about the matchday experience of watching a Cheslea match as the cfcuk fanzine and its sellers are well known amongst both the home and away Cheslea supporters and are considered by many as an essential part of the day. Again, I have to question why several other club's fanzines have been allowed to remain within the Wikipedia pages while the cfcuk Cheslea one hasn't. Hopefully, for a factual tool such as Wikipedia, I sincerely hope it is not a simple case of tribalism...

Blueblagger 16:40, 15 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueblagger (talkcontribs)

Well at the deletion review I mostly summed up the discussion. Personally, i agree that a merge may neither be of benefit for the main article nor the fanzine. I don't have a clear picture which other premier league fanzines have an article and where its presence has actually been challenged. Basically, the rules are the same everywhere, they have nothing to do with match day experience, but to rely on secondary sources. But the place is simply too big and centralized. We hope to get it right in then end. And if there is something to correct about cfcuk, that can be done. But hopefully meanwhile there will be something else of interest for you here. --Tikiwont (talk) 21:08, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey

why you delete the Tigermaan page? Could you tell me? Its look the same like other artists —Preceding unsigned comment added by TerazAlboNigdy (talkcontribs) 10:38, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Well, actually I gave it back to you for further improvements, but you continued to repost the same draft that was not asserting any importance. Please review also what already posted on your page and especially WP:MUSIC.--Tikiwont (talk) 13:52, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Did you delete my userspace?

I hope you have deleted my userpage AND its subpages (message left by userhike the whites)

Are there any subpages?[4][5] --Tikiwont (talk) 14:51, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

cfcuk

Hi Does your reply above perhaps mean that a fresh cfcuk application for a page will be considered? If you have a look at the original article that was posted and the responses from the Wikipedia mediators, I feel that all their points were suitably answered with many reliable sources such as mentions in books, newspapers and even the fact that current and ex-Chelsea footballers have either been interviewed for the fanzine or, as in the case of Mickey Thomas (ex-Chelsea, Manchester Utd and Wales to name a few) writes a regular column. Blueblagger 00:23, 20 March 2010 (UTC) : —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueblagger (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately it rather means that right now other editors do not seem to share your perception, but that there is no deadline so this can be revisited later once more people write about as opposed to in the fanzine.--Tikiwont (talk) 13:35, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Tikiwont...

I would kindly ask that you not be rude. I was simply clairifying what to do and didn't see the responses. I'm not sure why when I have written a neutral and complete and correct wikipedia article it cannot be taken care of. This article was on Wikipedia for nearly 3 years. What do I need to do at this point? Where is the article? I'm not being rude, just would like to get to the bottom of it. Thank you The article has been posted and written neutral. How come I cannot get a response for weeks for anyone but your comment? The article is in my user name, I'm going to copy and paste everything here. Please help me as I'm new to Wikipedia. This gentleman literally saved our marriage. He has made me lean with his best selling book and my husband no longer has love handles. Can you please give him his due credit and place him back on wikipedia where he was for 3 years?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jill Monroe (talkcontribs)

Well first fo all there is no need to copy and paste the article on Brett Salisbury here if the draft is at User:Jill Monroe. Second, it would have helped if you mnention the darft before. I assume that you are referring to [6] one of three posts by the same IP on the board[7], all of them answered with the same IP also being used by the account User:Mike dunbar for posts regarding Brett J. Salisbury. The answer is essentially the one already given by Stephen here. Bring the draft to WP:DRV so that we can indeed get to the bottom of this. But I am confused on whether you also wrote the original article under another account or are a newbie, both of which you seem to imply above.--Tikiwont (talk) 03:13, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
