"the Europeans have already destroyed the Jews"

[edit]

Hello Tiamut. As an uninvolved administrator, I would politely request you remove the quotes section from the top of this page. It serves no purpose but to stir up emotions from the other side of the Judaism debate. Thank you. — foxj 18:00, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the poem by Cheetrit because I agree that the last line could be viewed as hurtful to those who did manage to survive the Nazi holocaust and rebuild. The rest I will not remove, as I don't see the problem with them. Tiamuttalk 18:24, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was pointed towards your talk page, this is correct. However, I have to agree with him that the quotes are/were polemic in nature and am thankful you have elected to censor some of them. — foxj 18:33, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. Please not however tht editor has a tendency to canvass for action off wiki where his machinations are not subject to public scrutiny. I have no problem considering the feelings of others. I expect that they will consider my own as well. Perhaps you should counsel Jaakobou not to blank content on other user's talk pages and not to canvass for an uninvolved admin to get involved in longstanding personl grudges that he fails to disclose (see [1] [2] for cmple, for just the tip of the iceberg). Barnstar

[edit]
The Barnstar of Integrity
For your ability to compromise while remaining firm on your values. Also, for one of the most calm and level-headed, yet bold responses to an A/E report (the third paragraph in particular). ya3teke el3afyee ya a5tee. - asad (talk) 03:21, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just want to add to Asad's award a sincere thank you for posting the poem by Mahmoud Darwish on your user page. Very profound and of great value to us in these revolutionary times. Keep up the great work! --Al Ameer son (talk) 03:32, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to both of you for the support and kind words. Until we meet under the olive tree, Tiamuttalk 05:54, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Anti-Flame Barnstar
Alright, this would be two barnstars for the same basic issue, but I admire you keeping your cool in this recent kerfluffle, and in not stooping to firing broadsides at every insulting post from a certain unnamed editor. I rather doubt I could have kept nearly so far above the fray in your shoes. Ravenswing 04:17, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you ... its taken years of practice. I wasn't always so cool about it, but learned with time that was the best way. I really appreciate your acknowledgement and your fair approach to the problems that were under discussion. If only we had more editors like you and many of the others who commented on this case in the IP editing domain. Happy editing. Tiamuttalk 05:06, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

archiving

[edit]

I *think* it may be time for User talk:Tiamut/Archive 14 (and probably User talk:Tiamut/Archive 15 and User talk:Tiamut/Archive 16) to turn blue. But thats just me. Hope you are well, nableezy - 16:59, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying ... its been so long since I updated things (like dyk count) ... I'll archive a chunk soon. Good to hear fom you Nableezy. Its nice o see you around evn if you are not allowed to play with the rest of us during your detention. Stay cool, its almost over, meanwhile you can bathe in the water of the Nile and eat fruit from the orchards of Damascus. Tiamuttalk 17:06, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks T. Canens. I've been avoiding him for some time now and so formalizing that isn't a problem. Tiamuttalk 05:07, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
