Hi TiMike, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thankyou for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~. (Just so you know, some people won't pay attention to unsigned comments).

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

Above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cool c habit cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cool c habit cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Rob Charry

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rob Charry, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Simon Tatham

A tag has been placed on Simon Tatham requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Lincolnite (talk) 20:11, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Philadelphia-Fever.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Philadelphia-Fever.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on The Clarence requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. I have nominated Macho Row, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Macho Row. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. KV5 (TalkPhils) 00:11, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello TiMike! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 317 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Bobby 'Boogaloo' Watts - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Lil' Cease - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Speedy deletion nomination of Newtoy

BLP violations

Please do not leave essentially unsourced negative, BLP-violating material in an article while you wait for confirmation that it is the same person. Doing so is a massive BLP violation. NW (Talk) 22:47, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

My apologies. Lesson learned. TiMike (talk) 00:21, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
No problem. I was probably a bit harsh there, as I thought you were a more experienced editor than you actually were. For the future, just remember that any material, especially if it is contentious, should not viewable in a BLP unless it is sourced. If you follow that principle, you should be mostly fine. Best, NW (Talk) 05:01, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
No offense taken, thanks for the heads up NW.—Preceding unsigned comment added by TiMike (talkcontribs)

Use of Anime News Network encyclopedia as a source, tagging edits as minor

Hi TiMike,

I put most of the unsourced anime and manga related BLPs from January 2009 in my watchlist, and noticed that you made edits to some of them recently. It looks like you used Anime News Network's encyclopedia as a source, but it is not considered a reliable source since it is user edited (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Online reliable sources). Since any user can submit information to the encyclopedia, but only staff memebers can remove information and they rarely have time to do so, often errors remain for years at a time even after people identify them as errors. As such, the encyclopedia should not be trusted as a source, even though in most cases it is accurate. Basically any part of Anime News Network other than the encyclopedia and forums is considered a reliable source, so if you can find a news article on the site that lists a person as having worked on an anime or manga, that is a reliable source. Also, there is a "lookup sources" link on the bottom of each ANN encyclopedia page that will allow you to check if people adding information to the encyclopedia listed a source for that information. Though people aren't required to give a source and often don't, occasionally people will list sources for information that could be used as a reliable source.

Also, I noticed that you were marking your edits as minor when adding references and removing the tags saying that the articles were unsourced. Help:Minor edit says that edits should not be tagged as minor when references are added or tags are removed. The point of marking an edit as minor is so that edits people wouldn't care about are not displayed on their watchlist. However, adding references and removing tags are both things that people are likely to care about. In fact, in this case I was specifically watching the articles you edited solely to look for tags being removed and references being added (though I have my watchlist set to display all edits including minor edits). If in the future you could not mark edits as minor when adding references or removing tags, I'm sure people who have their watchlist set to not display minor edits would appreciate that. Calathan (talk) 16:02, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Calathan, Thanks very much for this info. I was un-aware, and I apologize. I will not use this source again, and will also remove the minor edit as default. I will also take some time to read the links you sent.TiMike (talk)

Adjusted Coordinates for The Sourlands

Heads up, the coordinate reference you provided (41°04′53″N 74°07′41″W / 41.081421°N 74.128189°W / 41.081421; -74.128189) puts the Sourlands near the NY/NJ border. I switched it to 40°24′46″N 74°48′08″W / 40.412680°N 74.802361°W / 40.412680; -74.802361. Probably was a typo or something. Lithium6ion (talk) 15:42, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

I posted for some help. If you're interested in attacking another articles missing geocoordinate data such as Category:Orange County, California articles missing geocoordinate data, please let me know. I've got a few tricks that might help speed up geocoordinate tagging, if you are interested in that as well. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 06:00, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Uzma, I started on Delaware, and will probably then move to Pennsylvania. After that I will help out any way I can. TiMike (talk) 20:10, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
For the Delaware Hundreds, do you think we can use geonames.usgs.gov to find the geo coordinates? Wikipedia:Obtaining geographic coordinates says geonames.usgs.gov uses the NAD83 map datum (what ever that means). -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 18:35, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, I will look into that when I revisit Delaware. Thanks for the resource Uzma! TiMike (talk) 19:11, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on coords for NJ. Wonder if you wouldn't mind looking at Pavonia, New Netherland. Had tagged that it could be specific, as current point was actually part of a cove at the time, while settlement was farther inland. Thanks Djflem (talk) 21:59, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Djflem, I had trouble with some of the exact points for the New Netherland articles, I googled around, and thought it would be prudent not to be too exact, and let someone who is an expert on these places be more specific with the coordinates. You seem to know, can you update the coordinates? TiMike 15:32, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Erroneously adding Category:People from Camden County, New Jersey

TiMike, I just wanted to alert you to the fact that you are inappropriately adding categories using HotCat. Anyone who is in a category such as Category:People from Collingswood, New Jersey does not belong in the parent category People from Camden County. This applies to anyone who is already in a specific town category from Camden County. Categorization is supposed to include articles in the most specific subcategory possible at the exclusion of the parent category. Thank you. Jrcla2 (talk) 05:13, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Jrcla2, I apologize. I was unaware of that rule, now I am and I will take care in the future. I will go back and clean up the ones that fall into this instance. — TiMike (talk) 13:44, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Greg-Pitts-O-face.png

Thanks for uploading File:Greg-Pitts-O-face.png. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 05:52, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

I noticed that you had recently provided some edits for the Wiki Shakespeare page, and wondered if I might ask you some questions about that?

This project is at a very early stage so I've not yet refined or worked out a fixed methodology. So the questions are also not yet fully formed. (And I am aware that you also contribute to many other pages.)

1. What motivates you specifically to contribute specifically to the Shakespeare page?

2. Do you consider that your skills in this regard are general, technical, or specialist?

3. Have you contributed to other Shakespeare-related pages?

3. What's you opinion on how the Shakespeare page has evolved over time?

4. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the Shakespeare page in terms of its current form and content?

5. Who would you say are the target readers for this page?

6. What have been the advantages and/or the frustrations of working on the Shakespeare page?

7. What are your reflections on the process of wiki-engagement in terms of connection, community and collaboration?

8. In your view, are there any other questions that ought to be considered?

Many thanks for taking the time to read this!

Gilchrist State forest location?

How did you determine the location of Gilchrist State Forest per your edit a few days ago? —EncMstr (talk) 20:36, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Google Maps. found gilcrest, and by the amount of forrestry, I approximated it.

This is just a heads up. I removed the 'People from Detroit, Michigan' category that you added and replaced it with 'Sportspeople from Ann Arbor'. Lund's article was already categorized 'Sportspeople from Detroit, Michigan'. So adding 'People from Detroit' is considered overcategorization. Lund lived in Ann Arbor at the time of this death....William 18:45, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

OK, sorry about that. Thank you. —TiMike (talk)

Do you happen to remember the source of the coordinates you added here? I've come across a historic light list which gives a significantly different location, and I just wanted to be sure there was no reason not to use theirs instead of what you supplied. Mangoe (talk) 16:19, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Mangoe, I will check, and let you know.
I do not.

Are high schools properly categorized as buildings?

This edit to the article for Gloucester City Junior-Senior High School was one of more than a dozen edits that added the Category:Buildings and structures in Camden County, New Jersey (or its corresponding category for the city of Camden) to articles for high schools in the county. I guess that each of these high schools does occupy a building, but these are articles about the schools as educational institutions, not as structures. Do you have any support for the practice of tagging each and every school in a county as a building in that county? Alansohn (talk) 13:02, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Alansohn, no I do not, but at the time I thought it was logical to add them, since the school is a building. I do see your point, and will hold off tagging any more articles that are not specifically about a building. TiMike (talk) 02:07, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
This question has been under discussion in commons:User_talk:Auntof6#.22School.22_vs._.22School_building.22 Jim.henderson (talk) 23:49, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads-up... very interesting discussion, although I personally think its overkill to start saying "Schools" and "School buildings". TiMike (talk) 01:50, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Old Pine Street Church, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://oldpine.org/history/the-old-pine-story.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Magazines

Hi, if you tag an article with, e.g., "American bi-monthly magazines", you should not only remove the cat "Bi-monthly magazines", but also the "American magazines" cat. I'm not sure either that it is actually a good idea to intersect the magazines by country and magazines by frequency trees, but that's a different question. Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 17:56, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

I was told before, that you should only show the most specific category. American is a sub of Bi-Monthly, thus it should only be in American bi-monthly. If a magazine is say, swedish, it would fall under Bi-monthly, because there is no Swedish bi-monthly magazine category. TiMike (talk) 18:03, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
  • I'm thinking about taking this to CfD, but then again, I may not bother because of the hassle. But consider this: should we also subdivide subject-specific magazine cats according to publication frequency? And if not, why would the same reasoning not apply to country-of-publication cats? In any case, if you class something in category "X Y something", which itself is in "X something" and "Y something", then it is sufficient to categorize it only in " X Y something", if you follow me :-) --Randykitty (talk) 18:49, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
    • Haha, believe it or not, I do follow you. :) Like you, the task seems daunting to have to subcategorize all of these additional ones. I don't have a preference either way, so I will follow your lead on this. TiMike (talk) 13:23, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

question on an edit you made

Sir, I see you updated the coordinates for the SS Carruthers shipwreck in Lkae Huron, I was curious what your source is for the coords? Thanks. Davetowz (talk) 18:41, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Davetowz, Unfortunately I don't recall the exact source. I found it interesting, and googled for it at some point. TiMike (talk) 22:58, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

I didn't see any mention of him having a speech impediment in the article; possibly I missed something? DonIago (talk) 13:33, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

There is no mention, but watching videos of him speaking, and it's obvious that he has a lisp. According to wikipedia, a lisp is a minor speech impediment, thus, I added the category. TiMike (talk) 14:14, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Especially given that this is a biography of a living person, to add that category requires that there be some discussion of the matter within the article itself, and that there be sources. To say that it is "obvious" without providing a source is original research. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 14:22, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Ok. TiMike (talk) 14:25, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Just so you know, I reverted the article on Rowan Atkinson for the same reason as Drew Barrymore [1]. I didn't understand what speech impediment was being referred to, having heard them in movies and interviews. So, a lisp. I thought Atkinson lisped only when assuming a character. I see what you mean now with Barrymore. Lisping, though, is really more of an accent. As in these cases, understanding is not usually impeded.
For people to qualify for the category, I think there should be a secondary source speaking to that, rather than relying on a blanket definition that a lisp is a speech impediment. As for the other people added, I assume their articles have interested watchers, too. Willondon (talk) 13:17, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
I understand, and am fine with it. Thanks TiMike (talk) 02:04, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

John, Really? Mind telling me what the error was? TiMike (talk) 21:56, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
Sure. In this edit you added an incorrect it's. Its is the correct possessive of "it". This is called the greengrocer's apostrophe. It's a classic error. Don't worry about it but I thought you would value the feedback so you can avoid making it again. --John (talk) 22:04, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

Richard Serra

I noticed your recent edit to Richard Serra in which you changed {{Reflist|30em}} to {{Reflist|3}}. I have undone the edit as my understanding is that a set number of columns has been depreciated and moving forward they should be based on column width per Template:Reflist#Columns. This states, "The syntax {{Reflist|2}} (for example), which specifies two columns of equal width regardless of the available display width, is deprecated (and is disabled for mobile view)." I wanted to share this information as a courtesy to your future edits. Likewise, if I've got it wrong and you've found consensus somewhere else to the contrary, please let me know. Thanks! Use of circa template

Heads-up: here you inserted some {{circa}} uses. One of them replaced part of an image filename - I've made the same mistake myself more than once with an AWB find/replace and not vetting the results. In the other cases, the template is designed to include one or two years as parameters; this has typographical value as explained in the doc. Finally, the {{c.}} template has been deprecated in favor of using the lk=no parameter in circa; the difference is that it suppresses the mouse-hover hint, which is recommended for all but the first use in an article. I made these changes and a couple of others here. HTH. David Brooks (talk) 22:54, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

@DavidBrooks Thanks for the heads up. I understand now.

TiMike (talk) 21:11, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

I see you have already practiced on your own page :-) David Brooks (talk) 21:57, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
@DavidBrooks Yes, but in that particular case I should have left off the lk=no. Keeping it there for a quick reference for the time being. :-)

coordinates for NRHP places

Hi TiMike, thank you for adding coordinates to Olcott Avenue Historic District and other National Register of Historic Places articles. Please note I refined your addition in this diff, in which I placed it within the NRHP infobox and I also noted your username as the source (by "source:TiMike" within the coord template).

There are issues with bad quality coordinates in NRHP articles usually from a bad database, and identifying that the coordinates are from specific editors who used Google maps or whatever will be helpful in rooting out the bad info, later. Your name will likely not get credit forever, but recording usernames for now seems economical before we have some other scheme worked out.

Also if you do change coordinates in an NRHP article, it would be great (but is not essential) if you could also change them in the corresponding NRHP county list-article, using "coordsource=TiMike". This procedure was most recently discussed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Register_of_Historic_Places/Archive_65#footnoting_coordinates.

Any which way, thank you for contributing coordinates! --doncram 23:03, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

Will do, thanks for the knowledge.

Dashes

Re: [2] Spaced en dash is correct in a date range. See MOS:DASH. Kendall-K1 (talk) 14:11, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

At one point I was told in the IRC chat that the following date sequences should follow the following formats:
  • May 1, 1900 – May 2, 1900
  • 1900—1901
  • May 1, 1900—1900

Is this incorrect? TiMike (talk) 13:39, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

That is incorrect. The em dash is only used for sentence punctuation. See the MOS section "Other uses (en dash only)". Date ranges always use an en dash. Spaced if either of the dates has a space in it, unspaced otherwise. Kendall-K1 (talk) 15:04, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
@Kendall-K1 Hmm, now I'm really confused. I read it, and it says...

The en dash in a range is always unspaced, except when either or both elements of the range include at least one space. July 23, 1790 – December 1, 1791

So for a date like July 23, 1790 – December 1, 1791 it should be:

May 1, 1900**spaced ndash**May 2, 1900 no? (** used in place of {{ so it literally shows up)

Hi - I have noticed that you’ve been adding the category “West Chester University alumni” to many articles. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

@CaroleHenson Thanks, I was unaware!

A tag has been placed on Category:Burials at Fernwood Cemetery, Philadelphia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Chester Benjamin

I deleted the article Chester Benjamin, which you edited after Smeenge created the article. It was tsaggrf for [[WP:CSD#A7|A7| speedy deletion. This appeared to be largely an exercise in ancestry/family research. That Benjamin was a descendant of the well-known Taft family in no way indicates his individual nptability. There was no assertion of anything about him that would make him in any way different from tens of thousands of other soldiers who fought in the US Revolution. Moreover, all cited sources seemed to be WP:PRIMARY. Wikipedia normally needs independent secondary sources about a subject to base an article on. Public records are primary sources. They are almost never sufficient. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 19:58, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Oneupsmanship: This painting turned the friendly rivalry between Edward Redfield and Elmer Schofield into
a feud. Schofield was a frequent houseguest at Redfield's farm, upstream from New Hope, Pennsylvania,
and the two would go out painting together, competing to capture the better view. Redfield served on the jury
for the 1904 Annual Exhibition of the Carnegie Institute; at which, despite Redfield's opposition, Across the
River
was awarded the Gold Medal and $1,500 prize. It was not until a 1963 interview that the 93-year-old
Redfield revealed the painting as the cause of the 40-year feud between them. Schofield may have painted it
in England, but a blindsided Redfield knew that it was a view of the Delaware River, from his own front yard!

Done!

Please fix your incorrect removal of women from Category:American physicists and Category:American mathematicians

I see that you have removed many women from Category:American physicists and Category:American mathematicians. I assume you are doing this because they are in the subcategories Category:American women physicists and Category:American women mathematicians. However, those subcategories are clearly marked as non-diffusing subcategories. This means that (like most gender and ethnic based subcategories) we have deliberately determined not to remove their members from the parent category, in order to avoid ghettoizing the women and ethnic minorities into places where they won't be so easily found by people looking for people in the main category. Please stop your removals, and please take the effort to fix the problem you have made by restoring these women to the parent category, rather than making others clean up after your mess. Incidentally, for both the physicists and the mathematicians you can and should diffuse members of the main category into the "by century" category; if you do that properly, you can remove them from the parent category, because the century categories are (as most categories) diffusing. —David Eppstein (talk) 05:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

On second thought, since you seem to have gone offline, I'm just going to take the time to rollback all your recent edits. —David Eppstein (talk) 06:04, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
@David Eppstein: I have not gone offline. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. One question... If I look at this (below), how do I know if this a non-diffusing category?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_physicists

Happy Birthday!
